Dont get this confused with a nadal dig cos its not.
I really dislike that tweener lob nadal does on the first point, I have seen him use it quite a few times. One of these days after the thousands of attempts he's gonna hit it in cos somebody leaves the smash and it will be hailed as one of the best shots ever. I much prefer to watch him hit a DTL forehand, its so much sexier than that shot
This is why I don't like Rafael Nadal. His defensive tactic of the crosscourt topspin shot works well against one-handed backhands, but it clearly doesn't work against two-handed backhands like Djokovic and Soderling and he still doesn't change how he plays. He doesn't play smart and he doesn't even need to play well, all he needs to do is play lefty.
@slammayjammay Really? Seemed to work against Soderling just fine in straight sets at the French this year, and in 4 sets at Wimbledon. I guess it's all due to the fact the fact that he's left handed. Also interesting how Nadal leads his H2H against Djokovic 14-7, despite the fact that his cross court topspin doesn't work on him. I also wonder why Verdasco and Lopez have failed to win any 1000 series or GS's? They must be right-handed. Oh wait a sec, you're a fucking idiot.
@DanimalLawlz You need to understand that most of nadal wins came when djokovic was still starting and his game hadn't developed enough for him to beat nadal especially on the hard court.
But also mentally now he believes he has the game to beat rafa pretty much everywhere maybe apart from wimbledon as his game doesn't do well on it but he still to bring the mental and physical side up to notch to be able to take him out in the slams and at the french.
@akebefrontiere djokovic will NEVER beat nadal at the french. Never. Most of nadals wins over djokovic have come in 08 and 09 when his game had already devoloped. So you are wrong there. Nadal is a multiple slam champion for now djokovic is a one slam wonder.
Nadal better hope that djokovic doesn't keep his form because this is what will always happen whenever they meet in masters series, maybe not in slams as djoko fitness is still not good enough to keep up with rafa but djokovic at his best is better than rafa on hard court.
I support rafa never say die attitude but if he wasn't left handed he would never be as successful as he has been until now but players are now onto him like djokovic, murray, del potro and cilic and i hope it lasts long.
but i will say Nadal is a fighter and only 24 so he still has years left in him. But I'm thinking he might go the way of Nalbandian and sucumb to injuries, except of course Nadal is way more successful. God, if Nalbandian is at 100%, he can beat anybody in the world. Just ask Fed or Nadal (the last time they played Nadal admitted he was afraid of his backhand and didn't know how to play him considering he got walloped twice before)
Everybody in Top 10 has been layin waste to Nadal since Fed started him on a losing path in 09. The guy didn't even win a single set at the 09 World Tour finals; del po beat him 3 consecutive times (a feat no player has done); and Nadal has lost to Fed, Davy, Djokovic, Murray. I'm thinking Nadal will next lose to Cilic, he's my dark horse. Definitely Cilic will cause some upsets; Nadal is next!
very well said you fucking idiot. He will go from no. 2 to be out of the top 10 because he is to defensive. I guess it didn't work for him all the other years he has been playing defensive. These matches happen, Djokovic did an excellent job exploiting the wholes on Nadals courtside, and the guy can fire of some pretty nasty flat hard balls.
simply with one word , RAPE !!!!! Nadal is going to be out of top 10 next year , he is too much defensive ..... But not defensive , as Murray !!!!!! Btw , Murray pusher !!!!!
I think Nadal will drop below top 5 ranking soon. As soon as AO finishes, he looses 2000 points, and will go below Novak. Then Murray, Delpo, Davydenko all will overtake him by the end of the clay season.
If Nadal recovers his old form of the beginning of the year, he could curtail this, but its looking more and more difficult. But he may still be able to do it -- the fighter he is.
everytime djokovic plays rafa..he hammers him on hard courts top players with big forhand and double handed backhand are easily beating Rafa..look what del potro did to Rafa..just blew him off the court in US open..
Nadal has better accuracy than Federer with that through the legs shot but Nadal just shoots it to high. Like Nadal hit the ball perfect accuracy and one time Federer hit the chairsmen
@Sundin456 Umm, how does Nadal have better accuracy with a Tweener? He just did the shot against Roddick, and it went into the crowd -___-. As for Federer's shot, I think you're referring to one of the Wimbledon Finals he played against Nadal. That wasn't a Tweener shot. Look to US Open 2009, that was awesome.

Rafael has been No2 from the age of 19 and No1 at 22; his career record is currently only comparable to that of Federer who although he has won more he has had more years to do so. But in 7 yrs career Rafa has won more than Federer did in his first 7 years!! It will continue to be like this for Nadal only better because he gets better every year. There is only 2 years difference in Nadal and Djokovic's careers. But Rafael has achieve a lot more than Novak. At 22 Rafa had won 36 titles inc. 6 Grand Slams and 15 Masters; at the same age Novak has won 16 tournaments with 1 Grand Slam.

I think nadal's problem is about confidence and thats why his game is so predictable he is playing crosscourt all the time cause thats a safe game he isn't doing inside outside forehand anymore and no down the line with the backhand if he begins to play more unpredictable titles will come soon
I can't wait for next year's clay season...If Djoko can carry on this form, then I think we may have our new number one next year.
Fed better watch out, cuz Djoko is getting GOOOOD again....Nadal i have to say, has looked in awful shape since his injury. And with only more hard courts to come for a long time I fear the worst. This YoSoyZuri is such a typical idiotic Rafatard who doesn't appreciate tennis, but rather drools over one player. Face it, Nadal's career is slowing down. Who cares if he has one good match here and there, he isn't a top 10 player for no reason.

um Rafa is only 23, I wouldn't go as far to say that his career is slowing down. If he continues to have knee problems then yes, he will be slowing down. Otherwise, if his knees are ok, there's no reason he can't get back into the top form he was in 10 months ago.
@AllGenreMusic That is a big assumption your making. Sorry that I respect a player that has won 7 grand slams, reached the top 50 by 16, and holds various records.
@AllGenreMusic dude.... I just wanna say... TOLD U SO! to all those who said Rafa was not going to come back.... This Year he won 3 masters (18 master titles- Record), Wimbledon and French which right now he has 8 Grand Slams!!!!!!! and he is back at the World Number 1 !!!! in your face!!! and rafa is coming for more and more!!
@guineapig55555 haha the last slam he'll ever win? AllGenreMusic and you no doubt thought the same after his shaky 2009 season with only one Slam title...and look how 2010 turned out for him. @imavaughanstar its possible.. now both Federer and Nadal are going to find it really really tough to win slams.. For me .. now the contenders are Djokovic and Del potro!
@ArjunJethwa Yeah .. even i think Del potro is playing pathetically atm .. Really struggling with form and fitness.. And talking about Murray .. he doesn't stand a chance against Nadal , Djokovic or Federer at the slams .. Why ? Because he doens't have that big match temperament .
