  • @flx2525 They were probably waiting for the conductor to lower his baton. Proper concert etiquette.

  • @LaurLaur2189 And just because something sounds fantastic doesn't mean you have to jump up and applaud when the aria just finished. Sometimes a performer is so good that the audience is transfixed and therefore needs a couple of seconds to come back down to earth. And as you mentioned, it's also proper concert etiquette.
