  • Oh I remember. Listened to that record with my little brother. I remember every song. It was about 1970 or 71. Loved J Jump Joyful.

  • i had to hum this song on my wedding day to prevent me from being nervous. it worked. now i use it for any reason when i am nervous

  • the record version blows this away

  • @posthumanhero Post it! :)

  • @PatchesRips i wish i knew how....so not computer savvy

  • jump as high as you can kids. one day you'll be old and your body just won't comply, lol. i got a big trampoline for my kids and i thought i could take a spin on it with them. a fall and bump later, i'm never getting on that thing again!

  • I remember we had all the Sesame Street 45's collection. As a preschooler j-jump was my favorite sing! Oh what fond childhood memories! 42 years old now, and I think this is the 1st time I heard it in about 32 years. I remember listening to the record and thinking the kids singing were going to say my name "James" in the song. They never did, and I was kind of sad... lol !

  • When I was a kid I had the 1969 LP. My father got mad at me one day for something I did or didn't do, of which I don't remember. The record was playing, and in a fit, he snatched it off of the turntable, and smashed it against the corner of my desk.

    Memories...

Didn't say they were all good.

  • @timewarpedstudios Why do you even wanna share something like that with us?

  • @MIKECNW I'll be honest. I was just going to leave it at the first sentence, but then that memory came back, and this is the end result. I apologize if it bummed anybody out.

  • One of my fav sesame street songs!

  • I Was On My Way To A Figure Skating Camp On Tuesdays And Thursdays From 630 To 830 Pm , And July Wanted Me To Color In Her Coloring Book With Her , And I Was With Katherine , And We Talked About Herb Alpert And The Tijuana Brass And Elton John , And We Had To Use Jump Ropes , Love Scott Orvik

  • I enjoy this version better than the record version.

Can't understand why they remade it for the first SS LP.

  • @MIKECNW Perhaps so it would appeal more to child listeners.

  • @rambam1204 Yeah right.

    Some people are so dumb.

  • I had the 1970 album this was on (kids singing) and lost it years ago...only to find it at a used record shop 10 years ago. Cant escape that classic Sesame Street Groove!

  • I still have the album and I've got two eyes and their both the same size!!

  • This song appeared on the very first Sesame Street album, but had kids singing instead of Joe Raposo himself. Both versions are good.

  • Now that you mention it, I remember a video version with kids singing this song too. I wonder if anyone has a clip of it?

  • I do not remember this. Must not have been on much in the 70's. I love Joe Raposo.

  • 00:48 waz just wrong. i saw a boob.

  • excuse me? i didn't.

  • did Joe Raposo ever have his ow sesame street cd out? if notthey should have he sang the best songs on this show some songs you can't find anywhere

  • This is my favorite song with Joe Raposo on vocals. We were so blessed to have his music shape our childhood.

  • I remember this around the summer of 1970, and I used to feel so happy and hum the tune when I would walk down to the park and play with my friends. This does bring tears to me eyes as well. Very talented man, Joe Raposo to bring magic to this show with his music.

  • I remember this fondly - in fact, watching it today brings me tears. Those J words - and, perhaps more importantly, kids jumping around - bring back great memories indeed!

  • Wise man say: short woman who keep detergent on top shelf jump for joy.

  • I'm groaning and laughing at this at the same time,DiAnno!

  • I'm groaning and laughing at this at the same time,DiAnno!

  • Wise man also say: man who put face in punch bowl get punch in nose.

  • Best clip ever. Best song. Five stars. Period. THANK YOU for posting this too!

  • I think (I could be wrong) this was the first song I ever heard Joe himself sing. Needless to say, it's a fave of mine too.
