  • thanks so much! just made mine, followed your instructions & came out perfect :)

  • How long would it take your family to finish a dish that size? Because I want to make it, but my Grandma won't eat it (in front of me lol) and my mom has a gluten allergy.

  • OMG THank you much i made this the other day and my fam loved it thank your...Ohhh and you have a beautiful little family of yours and its good that your teaching your son how to cook :)

  • I didn't have whipped cream so I cooled some heavy cream in the freezer for a couple of minutes, added some organic sugar and used the hand mixer to form to a whipped cream. It was delicious!

  • Thank you! Your recipes are always good, very informative, and easy to follow. This is my first banana pudding and I'm sure that it will be a success if the rest of it is as good as the pudding :-) My mom & dad are going to love it and my husband will fall in love with me all over again!

  • I just made some i dnt use the sour cream but i tasted soo good

  • great video i have one question how come you never mention MEASUREMENTS!!!!! girl i gotta keep rewinding to see if i could get an estimate ...but other then that this is great i will give this a try tomorrow .

  • @MariahDaWonderful She puts the measurements on her blog and she even lets you print them.

  • @cocobrownallaround thanks i was soo slow and had realized that but once again thank you have you tried to make this ?

  • @MariahDaWonderful You're welcome. No, I haven't tried this one before.

  • QUESTION: Is greek yogurt OK as a substitute for the sour cream?? I'm SO gonna try this!! Thanks for sharing :)

  • I make a recipe similar to this but instead of sour cream i use cream cheese, whipped cream, and sweetend & condensed milk into my pudding.....talking about good, um!!!

  • made this couple days ago it did not last 24hrs in my house

  • this is just like my moms but she uses eagle brand milk, NO BANANAS!! OMG, its soo yummy!

  • I have a similar recipe but use sweetened condensed milk and 2% milk and top it off with chopped walnuts and maraschino cherries. But I am going to try adding the sour cream - yum-2-the-my!

  • One Question? What made you put a second video up of banana pudding

  • @mccain95 did you see the first one??? It was a mess!!! lol I'm in the process of updating all (or most) of my old videos.

  • Love this recipe u already have a recipe for banana pudding it's old though but it the same cause I made some Saturday before u posted this vid

  • looks really good monique...i am going to try your recipe with the sour cream.

  • This is similar to the banana milkshake that you made. Yummm! ;)

  • I wish we had cool whip here! This looks super delish! Yummo scrummo! :)

  • Wow who knew banana pudding could be so dangerous..

  • I LOVEEEE your recipes. I have a question I hope you can answer. SOmetimes when I bake with baking powder and I follow ALL the directions, the baking powder taste is still too strong. Do you have any tips on what I need to do?

  • @SugeeMcLeLe do you use aluminum-free baking powder?

  • @divascancook No I don't, is that what the issue was all this time? Where can I find aluminum-free baking powder?? Thanks for your response :)

  • @SugeeMcLeLe Rumford brand has an aluminum-free baking powder that is awesome. It is also non-GMO, too. I buy mine at Wal-Mart. Hope this info helps.

  • @cocobrownallaround Thanks a bunch!! You helped so much. :)

  • @SugeeMcLeLe You're welcome.

  • are yall really arguing about a banana pudding recipe? lawd

  • Why not banana cream?

  • @mshighlyfavored88 You Can, Ive tried it with banana cream and vanilla, it taste the same to me, but it has a more banana taste than vanilla. But if you decide to use banana cream, you can add a little bit of vanilla extract of your choice.

  • Have you ever had baked banana pudding ?

  • I am not sure why the comment section has turned into a food fight. Thanks for taking time out of your day to provide us with these fun cooking tutorials/recipes.

  • can you use any other fruit besides bananas

  • Smh at these grown-ass women goin back and forth over some damn food in the comments on the internet. If you don't like it then click that little X in the corner and get the hell off of this page! People get so serious about the littlest things!! If you don't like "processed" foods, good for you, but please get the hell off of your soap-box and leave the rest of us be! Live and let live. Eat and let eat lol.

  • Yum! I use a can of condensed milk instead of the sour cream to sweeten it up and mix all the whip cream in the mix together! Thanks for sharing! 8-)

  • I made this banana Pudding this evening at 4 , and my teenage sons have already devoured it:-) Also your candies yams recipe safe my Thanksgiving Dinner , thanks Diva .

  • Suprisingly that sourcream makes it more fluffly and gives it a way lighter better texture! At first i was like uuhh yuck but I don't even taste it. :)

  • This is whats wrong with the Black community,,all this back and forth over some dang gone banana pudding?? Seriousy yall???? I've yet to see this much bickering on Betty's Kitchen or Laura Vitale's cooking channel. If you dont' like what she's cooking, move on...if you like what she's cooking..good for you. I mean damn!

  • @annettemint lmaoo...i agree.

  • Girl I made this and it was gone in like 4 days. I ate that thing for breakfast, lunch and dinner.smh It was crazy! it was sooo good! Yumzers! :)

  • I use this same technique but I use French Vanilla pudding and French Vanilla Cool whip :)

  • We do lots of southern cooking in my family and we usually use the Instant Jell-O Banana flavor instead of vanilla, and we slice up the bananas thinner...but every other recipe tells me to use the Instant Jell-O Vanilla flavor. Have my family and I just been like, misinformed or what? What are the differences in the outcome?

  • Mmmmmmm looks so yummy diva! My girl ;]

  • Mmmmmmm looks so yummy diva! My girl ;]

  • this look so good iam going get me some :)

  • OH Yeah!!!

  • Yummy :)

  • How about I do a video on homemade, old fashioned banana pudding as well?? See, problem solved!! I can't have yall over here fighting around the food!! Especially if yall "knock over Helenora's lemon cake!! You know the one she barely ever makes!!" (sorry that Jill Scott song has been in my head all day)

  • @divascancook Just made this banana pudding and it is a "BIG" hit with my husband. Thanks for sharing!!

  • This looks delicious.. Would it not taste good with the banana cream pudding b/c that's the one I use b/c I like the flavor of banana but not so much the texture.. I really want to try this recipe

  • @sexyvixen405 U could always use the vanilla pudding and add banana extract 2 get the yummy banana flavor.

  • Oh my god.. Yum :)

  • You know you shouldn't have put this delicious recipe for us to make. Guess I have to run a little bit more.

    Thanks Much!

  • If you know the old fashion way like cooked on top of the stove please do a vid !!!!.... I love it both ways too. I has some in a resturaunt and they closed down :-( so i want to learn how to do it) thanks for the vid. Also I heard you can soak your banannas in lemon juice to keep them from browning so fast...whats your take on that?

  • Lord that looks scrumptious! Drooling right now

  • @cocbrownallaround...sorry sweety...i dont do the back n forth...DISMISSED. bye!

  • @pinkkprincess01 Exactly, speak you mind, get called out, have no facts, then leave. Fine with me, but I wanted you to know that you're wrong about all foods being processed. Goes to show how many people are oblivious to what real foods are.

  • to the naysayers who are soooooo against processed foods....so I guess u make ur own pasta from scratch too huh?..u wouldnt dare buy "packaged pasta, now would u?..noooooo...gotta mix that flour and water and make it from scratch!..oh I forgot..flour is processed too!!..dammit!!..Lol!..get lost please.

  • @pinkkprincess01 Until you can come up with facts to back up your claims about all foods being processed then you have no argument. No, I'm far from a naysayer, and I support Monique, but I at least know what I'm talking about before I decide to call people dummies and say that all foods are processed. Yes, most foods at the grocery store is processed, but you don't know what real foods are obviously.

  • unless u have a garden in ur yard...a fish pond...a herd of beef cattle and fruit trees in the back,U ARE EATING PROCESSED FOODS!...folks kill me...just because crap has an "organic" label on it,ya'll dummies fall for the hype!..smh. My grandmother lived to be 107...AND YES,SHE ATE PROCESSED FOODS TOO!...wow! big shocker!..go Monique!!

  • @pinkkprincess01 I'm far from being a dummy and yes, I eat organic foods that aren't processed. The only way a person is eating processed foods is if they intentionally buy conventional foods from the grocery stores. No, I don't have a garden, a herd of cattle, or a fruit tree, but I've researched for the past 5 years and I have enough knowledge to know that I am not eating processed foods. Before calling us dummies please learn what real foods are.

  • Omgoodness...ladies ladies ladies!...Monique's recipes are awesome!...of course I enjoy some more than others....but thats the beauty of it!!..SHE SHOWS VARIETY!!...not all of us eat twigs and berries everyday!...and even those "goody twoshoes" who claim they don't eat processed foods...THEY ARE A LIE!!..so just ignore the wanna be health nuts/internet thugs/trolls!..lol

  • @pinkkprincess01 Troll, no, I'm not trolling at all, but speaking my opinion like everyone else. Goody-two-shoes for eating real foods, then I have to say that you are beyond ignorant. It's people like you who eat prison meat and chemicals, yet think you are eating real foods. It's clear to me that you don't know what you're talking about

  • That looks good!

  • I'm going to try this for a desert this week. Looks good

  • GIRL SMH LORD HAVE MERCY THANK YOU

  • I'm going to try this ...this week end thanks diva

  • I sometimes make a chocolate banana pudding by using chocolate pudding or using chocolate wafer cookies instead of the vanilla wafers. I like to switch things up a bit sometimes.

  • great recepie!!!

  • @IrisMG i knoww, right. But Yes, so true. Especially when we all have opinions that we are headstrong about. All i wanted to say was that not everyone may be as comfortable and confident in working with a homemade pudding, such as tempering, or may not even prefer the taste. I've done both, like Monique said. However, I do not participate in questioning what products or ingredients people use when they they make videos for us like this, that's all. (:

  • @STUCKiNAkoRnER Agree.

  • I for one appreciate easy simple recipes. Thanks for sharing this. I love from scratch too, but sometimes you want something quick! Looks great thanks for sharing!

  • Looks good :)

  • @IrisMG I agree. I did not mean for this to be a back & forth argument on her video for a dang recipe lol. I did say no offense, but obviously cocobrown didn't get the message...to say I should be ashamed & such over this is ridiculous...& I am not ashamed (:

  • @STUCKiNAkoRnER Yeah, this has sort of escalated, hasn't it? I apologize to Monique for my part in this, but she couldn't handle my comment either, innocent as it was. I guess we've all got buttons that can be pushed. We get emotional over our food, don't we?!

  • @STUCKiNAkoRnER "Freedom of speech". Can you imagine?! Sheesh.

  • Who said anydamnthing about me being Christian, I believe you have the wrong username. I haven't brought religion into this lolz.!! You dont know me & don't know how old I am...

  • @STUCKiNAkoRnER This comment wasn't meant for you so my mistake.

  • @cocobrownallaround & serisously? We are talking about a dessert here not everyday foods that are served to our families you sure are high & mighty about these ingredients, but to make pudding from scratch you still have to use corn starch, fatty eggs, and SUGAR. Sugar is processed & so is corn starch. make sure you're hands are clean before you start judging

  • @STUCKiNAkoRnER My hands are clean, but it's obvious that you are too high and mighty. Go back to church and learn the true meaning of being a real Christian because you are a fake Christian and a pathetic excuse for a person of your age.

  • @cocobrownallaround You have GOT to be kidding me. You say that I attacked you? And you've done nothing but call me a hypocrite, tell me I'm shameful..I specifically said NO OFFENSE. You gave your opinion & I gave mine. I must have really struck a nerve for you to reply to me twice.

  • Awesome as usual girlie and I don't even like Banana Pudding but, this might be worth a try.

    Keep doing what you do!!

  • for using prepared pudding mix. You set the bar high and I think that processed foods are beneath you to be honest. I love what you do and hope that you can have your own show one day. Keep up the good work and Yes, I support you all the way.

  • @ Diva, first of all, I have nothing but respect and admiration for you and your recipes. I've posted plenty of comments on your blog about how I think that you're a great person and a good role model for the black community. I posted my original comments because I think that you're so above using boxed pudding mix. If you took offense then I apologize to you, and you only and it wasn't meant to come across as offensive. I've used your recipes before and think that you are too good a cook

  • @cocobrownallaround If you don't agree with the ingredients Monique uses in her pudding then I suggest u find another recipe or another food channel!! If u don't like it don't watch it!! There is no reason to attack someone for their choice of ingredients!! Go troll elsewhere!! Don't listen to anything they're saying Diva cuz girl u r awesome at what u do!!!!

  • @Parsley96 First of all, I've been a fan of hers for the the past several months now and I have nothing but respect and admiration for her. Secondly, I have the right to voice my opinion when and if I choose to regardless of if you like my opinions or not. If you don't like my comments, then take your own advice and place your eyes on comments that you do like. I wasn't asking for permission to voice my concerns, so if you don't like my comments, then that's your problem, not mine.

  • @Parsley96 To call me a troll is petty and childish. I'm going to continue to watch The Diva's videos, so I think you need to take a hike!

  • O M G!!!!!!! This looks like an epic banana pudding!!! As soon as I get my tennis shoes tied, I'm sailing out the door to the grocery store!!! Gotta make this!!

  • I can't remember the last time I ate Vanilla wafers - I used to eat them all the time, preservatives, corn syrups and all, and managed to survive to my 50s. I enjoy Biscotti occasionally nowadays, those might add an interesting, if nontraditional, taste to banana pudding. Everyone likes their own recipe - just like with the Cornbread dressing!

  • @IrisMG Yes, choice is good, but I think you sound foolish bragging about eating preservatives and corn syrup. That's what's wrong with people of today. Totally clueless and uninformed. Just because you've made it to your 50's means nothing. I have relatives who are diabetics because they chose to eat processed foods. Good for you for having choices as we all do, but please don't act like it's a good idea and something to brag about because you eat fake foods.

  • @cocobrownallaround It is not bragging to say I ate processed food, it is FACT, if you can deal with that. YOU are the one who sounds foolish thinking you can tell people what to cook, what not to cook, etcetera. Adapt the recipe if you don't want to use it as is. You don't know what's in my kitchen or what I eat. I am healthy, managing my diabetes, thank you, and am not afraid of the occasinal vanilla wafer. As for you, take that chip on your shoulder elsewhere & fuck off.

  • @IrisMG Eff off, really? How childish of you to say that on a food channel. No, I don't know what you have in your kitchen and don't care to be honest. Chip on my shoulder, no, I just think you're ignorant. You're healthy, yet you have diabetes, so you can't be that healthy. Take your own advice and get lost because I can voice my opinion just like you and everyone else. Now run along and mind your business.

  • @cocobrownallaround Actually, no you can't voice your opinion about my life. You crossed a line. If you want to comment on the recipe, do that. But all you've done on here is attack others. I don't care if you think I'm ignorant. I already KNOW you are. You want attention, I gave it to you. I don't like all of Monique's recipes, either but I know how to say so without bringing others down.

  • @IrisMG Wow, I could care less about you and your life to be honest. And yes, I did voice my opinion about the recipe. If you took offense then that's your problem. When I posted my comments, then other people attacked me and I have the right to speak up for myself. No way did I attack Monique personally, and I have nothing but respect for her, so please get off your high horse and mind your business. It's clear that you indirectly posted your original comments towards me, so get lost.

  • @cocobrownallaround I'm not going anywhere, honey. And how are you posting all this and you don't have a channel?

  • @IrisMG What does having my own channel have to do with freedom of speech. For someone who is 51, I think that you are childish and pathetic. Run along now, I'm done arguing with the likes of you.

  • @cocobrownallaround I'm not going anywhere. Not having a channel means you are not a member of the YouTube community, so maybe the others are right, you are a troll.

  • @IrisMG Once again, I think you're lame and pathetic. I don't have to have my own channel, and no, I'm not a troll. I'm stating my opinions just like everyone else on here. I think you should learn how to differentiate between being a troll, and freedom of speech.

  • @cocobrownallaround Well you've taught me something about YouTube, because I thought you had to join it to comment on people's channels. Thank you for that at least. Secondly, children use the words "lame and pathetic", so at least I know who I'm dealing with now. Thirdly, Freedom of speech does not mean "freedom to be an ass to others". You'll learn.

  • @IrisMG Does that include you to? By the way, I have joined Youtube, but I don't have my own channel and that's not your concern. No, I'm not a child, but it's clear to me that you are engaging in childish behavior. You say that I should let Jesus be the judge, yet you're judging me for voicing my own opinions, therefore, that lets me know that you're a fake, and a hypocrite. If you don't like my comments then that's your choice, but I have the right to express my opinions like others.

  • @cocobrownallaround Yes, that includes me as well.

  • @cocobrownallaround You were judging another for voicing THEIRS.

  • @IrisMG Actually, I wasn't judging people for voicing their own opinions, but I was attacked for stating mine. You give religion and Christians a bad name. You resort to cussing and fowl language, yet you accuse me of being a child. I don't have to prove anything to you and anyone else. Just because I'm younger than you are, doesn't mean that older people aren't immature or ignorant. Grow up and mind your own business. I wasn't asking for permission from you or anyone else.

  • @cocobrownallaround You've just proved me right, kid.

  • @cocobrownallaround It's "foul" language, not "fowl". "Fowl" is poultry. I did lose my cool when you suggested I got my diabetes from eating processed food, when you don't know anything about me. I shouldn't have stooped to your level, and I apologize for cussing. To Monique as well.

  • @cocobrownallaround And besides, you didn't mind YOUR business, why should I mind mine? I'm not the one with growing to do here.

  • @cocobrownallaround You don't mind commenting on someone else's comment saying you agree with them, yet you have a problem with someone NOT agreeing with YOU. Who's the hypocrite? The people who disagree with you have freedom of speech too! haha

  • @IrisMG No, I'm not the hypocrite here, you are. I have no problem if someone disagrees with me, but you are supposed to be mature, yet you are cussing at me and being petty. I was accused of being a troll, yet you are the real troll here. Grow up.

  • @cocobrownallaround Right now I have nothing but pity for you. YOU are supposed to be mature, as well. But you're a kid. Wisdom will come with time. You'll learn what freedom of speech really means.

  • @cocobrownallaround You know how to call names, but you don't argue well. Every one of the Diva's recipes has some preservatives in it. She's not lowering any bar and she's not required to fit in any box YOU want to put her in. Just adapt the recipe, kid.

  • @cocobrownallaround Bottom line. Choice is good. You eat what you want, I eat what I want. Save the judging for Jesus.

  • @IrisMG There's no need to put religion in it at all. Yes, choice is good, and you can either chose to read my comments, or you can choose to read something else.

  • @cocobrownallaround I'm sorry if you are not religious, even though that's fairly obvious. It's not hard to see what your first comment was and how this all came to be.

  • @IrisMG If you're so religious then why must you continue to argue with me because I voiced my opinion? Religious people aren't supposed to pass judgment on others because they have their own opinions, but it's clear to me that you are a Sunday Christian. Freedom of speech is my right just like it is yours and you have proven to me that religion is a sham and can't be trusted. You are cussing and using fowl language, yet you have the audacity to judge me. You're not worth my time.

  • @cocobrownallaround I'm not religious, and never said so. All I said was "save the judging for Jesus". Don't blame your inability to read the Word for your poor behavior.

  • @cocobrownallaround Hehe God I hope you're not raising children..

  • My mom makes a similar pudding. She insists that when making her recipe to use French Vanilla instead of regular Vanilla pudding.

  • Choice is good...

  • Thank you for the recipe as well, love watching you so much!

  • @cocobrownallaround No offense at all, but you sound like the news, trying to spread fear lol. Everything on your grocery shelf has chemicals, preservatives, artificiality. Let's not turn what's supposed to be a delicious simple comfort dish into something else. (:

  • @STUCKiNAkoRnER It's obvious to me that you know that most foods at the grocery store contain harmful chemicals and artificial ingredients, yet you still eat them. That makes you a hypocrite. I'm not a fearmonger, but a person who believes in eating and feeding my family real foods that are free from toxic ingredients. It may be delicious to you, but nothing beats the nutrition and taste of real foods. You should be ashamed of yourself.

  • @STUCKiNAkoRnER It's people like you who puzzle me the most. I've done several years of research to know that modern, man-made, industrialized, processed waste is bad for us, yet there are people like you who still eat it. It's your choice to eat what you like, but don't accuse me of being a fearmonger simply because I believe in real foods. Pudding is so easy to make and there is no reason to eat the instant kind. Keep eating it if you wish, I personally choose not to.

  • Nooooo! Make your own pudding and whipped cream! Whipped cream is so easy to make and requires only 2-3 ingredients! I feel so sad that you make so many things from scratch but not this dish.

  • @alesbica I agree with your comments. Whipped cream is so simple to make and so is homemade pudding. I'm not intentionally trying to be disrespectful to Monique, but instand pudding and Cool Whip is processed junk food that is filled with chemicals.

  • @alesbica Don't feel sad, I make what my taste buds like whether it be homemade or from scratch. This recipe is for an easy, instant version of banana pudding. It doesn't mean that I won't do one for an old fashioned one. I grew up eating both kinds and I wanted to share this one today.

  • @divascancook Homemade whipped cream is super quick and easy to make as well. Oh well, to each her/his own. I'm glad you'll be making a homemade version of this soon! You handle Youtube negativity very well. I applaud you for that and love watch your videos.

  • @alesbica *love watching your videos.

  • I love this banana pudding recipe! The title is just what it says *crowd pleaser* and my son would say tummy pleaser..lol

  • Thanks for uploading, I was just trying to figure out a good dessert to make for the next dinner I'm doing at homeless shelter. This is perfect for a crowd. I agree that you can't tell the dif between instant and cooked pudding when adding whipped cream, last time I made it I added cream cheese and it was great

  • @CookingatMarthas yummy!!! I bet cream cheese was divine in it!

  • to this day I still don't understand how people can eat their banana pudding cold, I have to have mine piping hot and fresh out of the oven or microwaved if it's left over.

  • Comment removed

  • Thanks, finally a banana pudding recipe that looks good and seems easy enough for me to do. Really love this channel.

  • Instant pudding mix is nothing but chemicals and artificial ingredients. I used to buy it every once and a while many years ago and I will never go back to boxed, fake pudding. I've since learned how to make vanilla pudding from scratch and that's the only way to go for me and my family. I learned an awesome recipe in the 1950's version of the Betty Crocker cookbook and it was the most simple recipe for pudding ever. You can use the vanilla pudding recipe for making homemade banana pudding.

  • L◕‿ ◕ks good. Instead of bananas I sometime use crush pineapples. I mix the crush pineapples in the pudding mix. Line pan with cookies then alternate pudding mixture then cookies. Ending with cookies N top with cool whip. Thanks 4 sharing.

  • @ansbach74 ohhh that sounds yummy!!! I like it with strawberries and bananas!

  • every time someone says "cool whip", I think about stewie on Family Guy. Lol! ....Anyway, I'm going to give this a try.

  • @mese1020 LOL

  • i really like ur videos!! :) I'm gonna try this yumm <3

  • @angizeigto Thanks hun!!
