Download VBA (Visual Boy Advance) from somewhere in Google, then search for a Pokémon Gold, Silver or Crystal Rom (Rom's are like Gameboy games for the VBA) set everything up in the controls section of the VBA and then use it like you would use a normal Gameboy, just with the keyboard instead. It's just the same, you can even maximize the screen! In those 3 games including Heart Gold & Soul Silver for the Nintendo DS you can battle Red. Have any other problems then just ask.

Actually if you download the picture, and have a picture editing software(Paint.NET, Gimp, Photoshop) You can see that Left "Red" is the Red from FireRed and LeafGreen,Middle Red is the original badass Red, and right "Red" is crappy Ash.

Comparison of cross-canon counterparts get WAY out of hand. Satoshi and Special Red do not equal Red from the games, Shigeru and Special Green does not equal Green from the games, Kenta and Special Gold do not equal Gold from the games, Anime Hikari and Platinum do not equal Hikari from the games, etc.

Blue is very similar to Gary, so that comparison is forgivable. And while Blue beat Giovanni and Gary didn't, Gary fought Mewtwo in that fight. Blue didn't.
But when you say Red is Ash...you are wrong. No other way to say it. Ash talks and wishes to be the strongest trainer ever, but is very far from that goal. Red is silent and, only considering trainers with Pokemon at static levels, IS the strongest trainer ever, with disbanding Team Rocket and championing the Kanto League on his record.
@Iblitazer True but as similar as they are, blue isn't any more Gary than Red is Ash. Red and Blue/Green are of the video game universe. Ash and Gary are the anime universe versions of the characters. (btw in Japan Gary's alter persona is actually Green and the girl is blue, they switched it in the USA.) You can see other examples of this. Video game charcters include Crystal, Gold, Saphire, and Ruby. In the anime universe (in same order) they are Marina, Jimmy, May, and Brandon.
By the way, don't let "Lyra" and "Ethan" confuse you. They are the exceptions to this rule. Since Marina (cystal) was in a seperate series, (Pokemon Chronicles), Lyra was created as a version of this character that could meet Ash in the MAIN anime. She was then used in place of Marina when they remade Gold and Silver. So instead of Just reusing "Jimmy"/"Gold", they renamed him "Ethan." So, even though they had not made another version of this character, they still reinvented him, as well.
@Iblitazer i think your wrong, it was just the future of ash in that game. Look, he has 3 starters, in that game too but fully evolved just to make it hard. And its just a game with levels and so. It was 10 episodes from the start of pkmn indigo and some girl sad it pikachu is lv 25, so in johto it could be like 80 right?
@Iblitazer acually in themanga red is very outgoing and he just wanted to be better then his rival then when he won the final frontier he got addicted to battleng thats why professor oak gave him the title of the fighter andblue/green the title of best trainer.
Not to mention that Red also battled/defeated Elite four Bruno. But its really surprising to me that Yellow defeated Lance with a help from Blaine/Giovarnni. Ash in my opinion lost my respect from Hoenn + because of his stupidity.. My new respect is toward Team Rocket now since they act calm/cool in Unova region, if you have saw the newer episodes of it.

Dude, they all look like ash's counterparts. The one in red obviusly looks like red, the one in blue looks like the protagonist from FR & LG and the one in yellow looks like Ash and as you can see, he also has the green "C"

Anime =/= games =/= various Pokemon manga
Comparison of cross-canon counterparts get WAY out of hand. Satoshi and Special Red do not equal Red from the games, Shigeru and Special Green does not equal Green from the games, Kenta and Special Gold do not equal Gold from the games, Anime Hikari and Platinum do not equal Hikari from the games, etc.

Blue is very similar to Gary, so that comparison is forgivable. And while Blue beat Giovanni and Gary didn't, Gary fought Mewtwo in that fight. Blue didn't.
But when you say Red is Ash...you are wrong. No other way to say it. Ash talks and wishes to be the strongest trainer ever, but is very far from that goal. Red is silent and, only considering trainers with Pokemon at static levels, IS the strongest trainer ever, with disbanding Team Rocket and championing the Kanto League on his record.

@Iblitazer True but as similar as they are, blue isn't any more Gary than Red is Ash. Red and Blue/Green are of the video game universe. Ash and Gary are the anime universe versions of the characters. (btw in Japan Gary's alter persona is actually Green and the girl is blue, they switched it in the USA.) You can see other examples of this. Video game charcters include Crystal, Gold, Saphire, and Ruby. In the anime universe (in same order) they are Marina, Jimmy, May, and Brandon.

By the way, don't let "Lyra" and "Ethan" confuse you. They are the exceptions to this rule. Since Marina (cystal) was in a seperate series, (Pokemon Chronicles), Lyra was created as a version of this character that could meet Ash in the MAIN anime. She was then used in place of Marina when they remade Gold and Silver. So instead of Just reusing "Jimmy"/"Gold", they renamed him "Ethan." So, even though they had not made another version of this character, they still reinvented him, as well.

@Iblitazer i think your wrong, it was just the future of ash in that game. Look, he has 3 starters, in that game too but fully evolved just to make it hard. You dont think game freak would make a lv.75 bulbasaur or something? Then it was easy as hell. He has lapras also. Espeon just for fun i guess. And the spirte is the same also. And its just a game with levels and so. It was 10 episodes from the start of pkmn indigo and some girl sad it pikachu is lv 25, so in johto it could be like 80 right?

@Iblitazer acually in themanga red is very outgoing and he just wanted to be better then his rival then when he won the final frontier he got addicted to battleng thats why professor oak gave him the title of the fighter andblue/green the title of best trainer.

Not to mention that Red also battled/defeated Elite four Bruno. But its really surprising to me that Yellow defeated Lance with a help from Blaine/Giovarnni. Ash in my opinion lost my respect from Hoenn + because of his stupidity.. My new respect is toward Team Rocket now since they act calm/cool in Unova region, if you have saw the newer episodes of it.

it would be cool if... Ash (by miracle) becomes a cool trainer..and when he's done he decides to climb Mt Silver..when he's on the top facing a sun set he says:
A: well pikachu...we finally made it...

(suddenly someone appears behind him)
A: hey! who are you I'm ash from pallet town and I ...
the figure just tips his red cap..gives a quiet grin...and trows a pokeball that when opens a thunder comes of it...at the end only the silent red capped figure stands...

Example: if you've ever played the zero series you know that in the game zero is a god but the zero in the manga is a total IDIOT! theres my proof now I'm going to go see if red's name in japan is ash.
