I owned both.. The Trans Am is a way better car.. It's faster, looks better, and even handles better.. Those mustangs are to nose heavy, and the rear likes to slide out.. The trans am has a wider stance and better balance because the motor is pushed back

Mach's have the frod 8.8, a proven rear diff. that has been used for decades! Cobra, as stated above, have the independant rear susp., while machs have a solid rear...Not many are fans of th I.R.S., but it has it's benefits. I think th I.R.S was a good idea, and its a miracle they hold up behind that kind of power-but give me a solid rear any day! And Ford has one of the strongest rears in the world, hence race cars run ALL FORD REARS....Or so I was told, I had 2 silverado shatter!!

@BrewCityTommy The IRS is actually being begged for. The live axle is arguably one of the only things holding the current 5.0 from being a world class car rather than just a muscle car.

@BrewCityTommy I don't know you but I love you. I'm sooooo sick of hearing people bitch about the new Mustang still having a solid rear. People just don't understand that when it comes to American Muscle, solid rear is the way to go. Even on the circuit, if you know how to handle it, it's better.

anyway. yea I have a 2001 Camaro Z28. never have raced a Mach 1 yet but I have appreciation for them to. A LOT better then Ford Mustang GT & N/A Cobra. but personally LS1 are better.. but it just comes down to driver race.

Yes, I love the LS1, but the DOHC mod motor has a place in my heart as well....I had a 96 cobra, and my Ls1 z28 would leave that thing in the dust...I am waiting to get approved for a loan on an 03 mach, and while its essentialy the same engine - minus100k miles! - the mach has quite a bit more power, and the looks of the mach are so sexy, camaros 3rd gen, ae bit plain jane, while trans ams are near gaudy-the mach is a nice in between, and azure blue is an awsome f'n color-sweet
