Check out the LOWREY MICRO GENIE (made in licence from JVC), its "genie" function is just that: rhythm, auto accompaniment and a funky ARPEGGIO that can be activated individually.
ELKA and WERSI made similar instruments. The idea is simple: Take a simplified Top Octave Synthesizer (TOS) and the drum machine/auto orchestra section of an ordinary organ and build it into a small box. I think the idea was to use it with organs that lacked the auto section - like electronic treatre organs. Many old Elgam organs had an auto section just this instrument.
yes, that's right... I love the analog "auto orchestra" of some organs - but organs are very big and heavy, they take a lot of space - and I don't need the built in amplifier and speakers.
The idea of building an "auto orchestra" in a little box is great! :-) in many ways like a "vintage groovebox". I also have a WERSI WM24 / WM 24b - these ar TWO boxes, but also relatively portable...
Some organs also comes in a portable version. And others can be converted.... but of course you have to get busy with a power saw! It can be fun though.
Where can I buy one. It sounds beautifully vintage!!
