Nice! Still to get a clock with this chime. This is a Henry II style case I now understand and had a case not unlike this one on a Vedette W/M chiming wall clock a few years back that was sold to someone down in England.
I'm so pleased to find this video. The clock is exactly the same as one I have put up for sale ( reluctantly) on Ebay this week. At least if mine sells I will be aBLE TO COME BACK HERE AND SEE THIS ONE! Mine needs a bit of TLC as it's been overwound, but is slowly unwinding. Mine is definitely a Westminster chime though.
@jobiwink You can't overwind a clock. You can only turn so far till it stops. It will chime realy fast and slow down as it unwinds. Sounds like you clock needs cleaned and oil if not overhauled (depending on age).
That's not a Westminster Chime at the beginning, it's a Trinity Chime. And also a quarter of that chime appears at 1:11 when it strikes a quarter past. At 1:29 a one third of the Westminster Chime starts. But it would also be nice to see the big hammer in the clock strike the hour inside.
But those are HAC CHIME BARS. See the gong block? Junghans used a bronze colored hollowed out block. HAC used that almost French styled gong block with that imprint on the front! >:^(
I love the Trinity chimes.

I believe Junghans bought the HAC company and I expect a lot of their parts were used together for some time afterwards.

I love to listen to clock chimes like this. They're so beautiful. I don't believe I've ever heard a song like this one being sounded by a clock.

It does. It's pretty well of a wall clock because it sounds bigger than it is... nice effect.

those light bulbs on the chandelier on the left are compact fluorescent light bulbs.

Most light fixtures in my house have those same bulbs but, in a different style!

Jhans are so lazy though they just take their normal 4 westm rods and stick two higher pitch ones on it kinda stands out.

they are jhans rods trust me

Definetly HAC mechanism, though.
The only "Jhans" part about the clock seems to be the badge at the bottom of the case......

What kind of chimes do these clocks use to give them their "grandfather" clock like sound?
