  • Amazing how Kemah recovered! I thought it was a goner for sure

  • hurrican ike was a bitch.but

  • God damn you Ike you killed my first amusement park :(

  • Wow 7 billion? and 80billion? Cailifornia is going to have 300-400 billion worth of money in destruction here in a little. Californians look out.

  • Everything is cool now, I just went a few days ago, rode the bullet too! :))) !!!!

  • I live in Houston and the Boardwalk Bullet was my favorite ride. Good thing it is still open. I was in this hurricane. Not many damage, though. Only the fences.

  • me too, i have no clue what would happen if the bullet collapsed D:

  • this video makes me cry. i lived in webster 4 a year (after katrina) and went to kemah every week.

  • i live in la porte and when we got back everything was a wreck including kemah it was a sad thing to see how places u went on a regular day just destroyed

  • I live literally down the street from the Kemah Boardwalk. If I wanted to, I could walk there.

  • Monkey Bar is back open so stop by and have a brewsky when ya get a chance!!!

  • Crosby is still without power

  • I remember when they built the board walk. I had my first job there too. It's weird to see it like that.

  • I work on the boardwalk, salt grass will open within 10 days, joes will take 6 to 8 months to reopen and the bullet will be rebuilt, it will just take time

  • Is the Boardwalk bullet damaged beyond repair?!?

Dammit! If it is I never got a chance to ride it!!!

  • na im sure theyll get it up and running again. hopefully this time they do it right and it wont be down for repairs more then it was open.

  • its a wooden roller coaster next to the water, of course its going to need repairs more than otheres, are you kidding? and it was open all the time, i would know, im there 6 days a week. =P

  • well i was there 7 days a week from 10 to close and i actually worked the Bullet Beverage (the little beer stand next to the bullet) and that ride was almost never open. i would know because we lost alot of bizz on the days it was closed. then on the days it did open it didnt open till late. that ride was bull.

  • like i said sweetie, it was open, doesnt mean it has to be open when you are there all the time, its wooden roller coaster, and its next to salt water....needs repairs then most, its not metal, same thing at atroworld when it was open. wood needs more work then others, it breaks easier. calm down sweetheart, its not the end of the world cause it wasnt as busy as you think it would have been, but when it was open, it did its job.

  • haha i'm glad i quit my job there last week

  • i used to work there before the flood. i went down there yesterday actually, waters all gone and all that but there is soooo much work that has to be done. its going to be ahwile before they get that place going at all. its really kinda depressing seeing it.

  • I am in Scotland, but my inlaws live in South Shore and this has got me in floods of tears, I have had so many happy times in Kemah and surrounding areas (infact in the whole of Houston) I have been watching the khou on the net pretty much 24/7 since before the storm hit. So sad... my thoughts are with everyone who has been affected by this horrible act of nature.

  • Wow That's awful!!! I have gone and worked in Kemah at the Saltgrass for 2 summers now! I cant believe its all gone! I know Tillman is going to feel this one! Like its really gone...I pray that everyone is safe down there and just remember that at least you have your life...it could have been worse! My heart and prayers go out to you! Much love from an old Baytown resident!

  • The kemah boardwalk is not really dead (gone) But it is really floody! I heard that the dairy queen near Kemah is like al under water

  • Man... Kemah's completely gone...

Those carnival rides will never be the same again.

Kemah and Seabrook residents, you all are in my heart.

  • True Even If They Do

    Reabuilt It The Damage

    Is done To People In

    Kemah And Around it .

  • @DancingDragonBlaze Dude Kemah is way better now. Galveston is still a bit jacked up.

  • DH works in Kemah just down 146 near 96 on bayside

  • This really tears me up i grew up in kemah in the 70's and 80's. My folks had a home on west 8th street near stewart elementary, any idea how bad that area flooded?
