Try cupping your ear so you hear yourself. You don't have a bad voice,you just need a little more training. Stand up straight,don't sing from your chest, breath, and push out from your stomach. You have the same problem I have, you're holding back. Remember, we can't see you, so go for it. Don't be afraid to embrass that beautiful alto that's in you. You can learn to be a very strong alto & second soprano.
