  • That was not much of a spin now, was it? How about doing more than a full revolution? How about 8 or 10?

  • Would enjoy to have been in the backseat.

  • Hey gliderman, was the reversal deliberate or accidental? What equipment were you flying? I once flew a Jantar Std II that would reverse with the nose still way down if you didn't get the wing fully unstalled before applying opposite rudder - unsettling to say the least.

  • the K13 build for spinning...

  • @JayJay1990fromwiehl You mean its build not to spin?

  • i will be scared

    lolz

  • Why don't you keep the camera straight? Nice video.

  • What altitude are you at?

  • Don't have a glider endorsement but it certainly looks like an uncoordinated stall leading to a spin.

  • @microtexas A spin is initiated by large rudder inputs as aircraft (glider or powered) stalls. So, yeah - uncoordinated stall.

  • sure it is

  • Looks like a spin to me!

  • looks like a man enjoying his ride... great video dude more post like this please... i loved the video ride thanks

  • ASK21 ?

  • Nice tow launch though. Thos'er fuckin crazy

  • trudeln leitet man anders ein

  • @seilriss

gut dass das immer nur auftritt wenn man's einleitet

  • @D0NGI0VANNl nich zwangsläufig, .. lass mal im normalen gleitflug alles los wirst sehen was passiert :-)

  • @seilriss

War eher ironisch gemeint ; ) Weil's halt in der Kurve schonmal vorkommen kann ohne einleiten

  • Wish the music wasn't covering up the wind sounds.

  • Was it possible to come flying with you ?

  • great!

  • are spins scary or fun

  • @hargreavesjn123 1 or 2 turns are fun . After 3 4 you will feel like in a washing machine squeezed and you get dizzy so not fun :) especially if it squeeze you as much as you cannot hit the rudder . But gliders usually come out of spins by themselves

  • @hargreavesjn123 Great fun if you are practising with more than sufficient height, anything from trouser soiling to the last thing you will ever do if you, for example, cock up your final turn on landing.

Practice regularly paying particular focus to the signs of spin developing (incipient spin) and of course rapid and highly efficient recovery; you should be fully conversant with the low speed / higher G handling charactaristics of any glider you are likely to fly.

  • @hargreavesjn123 You will seriously become addicted to them after your first one. Try it I did and it's extremely addicting!

  • I think it's fun (I did it twice, also in an ASK-13)

  • fight jet ?

  • I am 14 and learning to glide at the moment and we do spinning as part of the stalling.

  • I am an Glider instructor from the UK, and we do spin as part of the glider training, but the main focus is to show how a spin can develop from a final turn (insipid spin). Normal attitude, low speed, try and stop the wing from doing down, and over rudder into the turn, in the miss belief it will bring the nose around quicker.... guess what it does ...... spin !!!!!!. There have been a lot of spins for real doing this. So the key is to recognize the symptoms and recover...

  • I've been taught both ways to get into a spin and that sure looked like a spin to me. After the first few rotations to the left where he switches to the right, that is not a spin.

  • @mike66266

Have your instructor demonstrate a "Spin off a thermalling turn". Or demonstrate what happens when you forget to center the rudder after the spin recovery, and while recovering from the dive, enter into an accelerated stall.

  • @tardifnk Or if you want some fun. reverse the rudder whilst maintaining back stick pressure - thanks Jed - I still do that for kicks regularly!

  • @waterblaze Gliding Federation of the United Kingdom? What are you on about? It's called the British Gliding Association.

  • x2 @waterblaze

Spin training is still part of the BGA syllabus. Search for "Bronze Syllabus" on the BGA website (include the quotation marks in the search field).

  • @waterblaze your note is a completely incorrect statement, the BGA teach

spins as part of the syllabus for pilot training. You cannot go solo until you can demostrate recovery from a spin

  • Are you even stalled or is it just a deep spiral? Because it looks like you simply bank steeply and push the nose over hard. A correct spin entry involves stalling wings level then pushing full rudder to get the auto rotation going.

What was the airspeed doing during the maneuver?

if its stabilized near Vs then your def. spinning, just looks like a deep spiral to me but shit i don't even fly gliders so I don't know.

  • Having just expressed your knowledge on areodynamics, it's to be hoped that you don't fly anything

  • ask13 lol

  • Shut up fucking retards, Clearly a spin..

  • @sporty155 Clearly not a REVERSE spin...

  • @Omanboard :44 to : 50 stall leading to a spin.

If your not seeing it. congradulations, Your an Idiot.

  • @sporty155 A stall is not a reverse spin, you twat. Tell me exactly what a "reverse spin" is. A stall leading into a spin is so commonplace, you must be a retard to think of it as anything else.

  • @Omanboard Let me sum it up 1 more time for you since you are clearly an asshat... I never said a stall saw a reverse spin fucktard, its a spin, not a wild one but clearly a spin.

    Now go kill yourself.

  • @sporty155 And since I said it's "Clearly not a REVERSE spin...", you're the official asshat of YouTube for the day. Have fun, bubs.

  • That bone head wouldn't know a spin if he was in one LOL! Which is good, because he wouldn't know how to recover, Thanks for sharing your vid!

  • looked like a fully developed spin in both directions to me!

  • >nice fuckin spin too bad it doesnt exist what the hell are you talking about ?

Im pretty sure I was in the glider when i was recording. So that exists. The spin, well again i was there so yes again on that one ! maybe the video recorder ... ahh again no, that MUST exist as you watched my video .. so Im afraid that only leaves your brain .. now maybe that doesnt exist :)

  • nice reply :) Spins in K13's are excellent fun. So smooth and gentle :)

  • @gliderman1981 I think this dipshit is just confused because they dont work in microsoft flight simulator ;)

  • @gliderman1981 Spin at 1:23. Great video!

  • Would it be possible to be taken on such a flight? I sure would like it a lot.

  • jaa mit der ask 13 geh des sau gut schönes vdeo 5*

  • thanks thomas,

i have an Archos with a head cam, i strap it to my head and i have a control on the cable that allows me to start and stop the record.

Watch this space, ill start uploading more of my flying vids soon.

  • Nice video.

How do you handle the camera?

Is it a homebuilt camera helmet or something like that ;)?

  • yes it is, Essex and Suffolk GC @ Wormingford

  • Is this Wormingford GC?

  • Love this! Flying is the best thing ever! :D

  • dass macht spaß hehe cooles video

  • ja mit der kamma schön trudeln

  • Now spins look like a blast!

  • wtf???? 10 hourds????? are we talking about the same schleicher ASk 13???

  • das is ja ne ASK 13 oder

  • ganz klar ja :)

  • Man, that looks like a lot of fun!!! How long can a glider stay up???

  • Depends on weather conditions mainly.

On a decent, hot summer's day, you can get 5 hours off the winch easy.

The record is over two days i believe...

  • Drat, I wanted to see the landing! But great vid!

  • dude that was awesome ive never seen a glider spin out!!!

    awesome vid dude
