Dave's instrumentals are my favorite. But that's just because I don't like his vocals much. They're too nasally and they don't sound too angry for the genre. Just my opinion. I know I'm in the minority when it comes to megadeth. He is still a great guitar player though.

Y su voz o su estilo es malo, compara esta presentación la del Rude Awaking. No creo que sirvan las comparaciones sobre gustos musicales. Lo que sí me parece es que Metallica se extravió luego del "black album" y Megadeth nunca perdió la dirección, aún con altibajos. Será muy difícil repetir el "Rust in peace" pero me parece que con "United..." comenzó una renovación y ahora con "Endgame" la confirmaron. Maaan. Gibbon's solos are so hard to play. After 10 years of playing Sabbath, Megadeth, Satch, RATM, Maiden and other stuff, his style is still out of my range. He's the best example that technique is not even 50% of guitarist.
Tried radio friendly bullshit realized its not for them so they got their balls back and continue to play metal at a high level of skill (unlike sloppy metallica)
But, Metallica's songs are much, much better. Their truly best songs don't even catch radio play. And no... you still don't need to be able to shred your balls out to play metal. Metallica's music might not be as fast, but it's two times more catchy, two times more memorable and two times more timeless.

Technicality has nothing to do with how good music you can compose. Take for example "In My Darkest Hour". It's not fast, not intense, but still, one of Megadeth's best songs. Then take "Fade To Black". Same thing - it especially shows in the end solo. You don't have to be Yngwie Malmsteen to play a good solo or to be Dave Lombardo to play a good drum beat. It's all between the ears.

Mustaine is as well but like i sated earlier he fired two members for drug use, others for not being good enough, others for making the band less metal and more rock. Now which comment should I reply... Master Of Puppets is the most influential metal album of all time. Bite that. I haven't said that the band who sells more is better. No, if I did, I would be listening to Hannah Montana right now. And you don't really see anyone in Megadeth longer than a year because of Dave's power craziness and kicking the whole band and others resigning because of they are full of Dave's behaviour.
And of course there will be different albums when there's a band like a family: It was always James, Kirk, and Lars, and it still would be Cliff without that tragedy.

Lo malo de Mustaine actualmente es que sus conciertos dejan mucho que desear no solamente tiene mal repertorio lleno de baladas sino que como que con su actitud no le pone muchas ganar. Y su voz o su estilo es malo, compara esta presentación la del Rude Awaking. Y eso que Mustaine en uno de los pocos lugares que le hecha ganas es en Argentino porque por youtube se puede verificar lo tedioso que es en vivo.

@hug0deth: Claro que conozco Killing is my business , de hecho te puedo decir que la mejor de ese disco es Love to the Death y despues Mechanix . Como bien dices , despues de Mustaine , vinieron sus composiciones mas pesadas y rapidas , en cambio Mustaine se quedo en ese lado punketo en los discos que siguieron , lo que no es malo aun asi es un buen trash. En cuanto a Hetield , el desde un principio era el lider de la banda el compuso 5 canciones y Mustaine solo estuvo como coautor en las otras

No creo que sirvan las comparaciones sobre gustos musicales. Lo que sí me parece es que Metallica se extravió luego del "black album" y Megadeth nunca perdió la dirección, aún con altibajos. Será muy difícil repetir el "Rust in peace" pero me parece que con "United..." comenzó una renovación y ahora con "Endgame" la confirmaron. No se puede decir que es bueno saber que han vuelto al lugar que les corresponde porque Megadeth jamás se fue: HOY SON LA BANDA NO. 1 DE THRASH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@hug0deth: Entonces define lo que es el trhrash para ti , hay muchas canciones en el thrash que no usan el alternate picking y aun asi son muy pesadas , ejemplos sobran y me llevaria todo el comentario poniendo todas las canciones "lentas". Aun asi , puedes comprobar en cualquier tab de guitar pro o power tab y veras que Metallica es mas rapido que Megadeth, Master Of Puppets =220 bpm y Tornado of Souls=196 bpm. Si vamos integrante por integrante tambien Metallica es mejor , de hecho.

1st--No one cares if you like Metallica or Megadeth more than the other. All that matters here is that "Wake Up Dead" is fucking awesome.
2nd-- B.B. King, Robert Johnson, Eric Clapton, Billy Gibbons, Iommi, Hendrix...let's go out on alimb and even say Jerry Cantrell do not and probably can;t play this fast right now. They are all awesome...it's about communication through art...not pure skill or raw talent or popularity.

Technicality has nothing to do with how good music you can compose. Take for example "In My Darkest Hour". It's not fast, not intense, but still, one of Megadeth's best songs. Then take "Fade To Black". Same thing - it especially shows in the end solo. You don't have to be Yngwie Malmsteen to play a good solo or to be Dave Lombardo to play a good drum beat. It's all between the ears.
Speed is not everything.

Limp Bizkit sold how many records? Are they better then Metallica or Megadeth? hell fucking no yet they sold more then those two when they were popular.
Metallica was hard rock when the black album came out and was radio friendly.
Megadeth and Metallica were neck and neck in sales then Metallica changed to radio friendly hard rock and became huge.

Now which comment should I reply... Master Of Puppets is the most influential metal album of all time. Bite that. I haven't said that the band who sells more is better. No, if I did, I would be listening to Hannah Montana right now. And you don't really see anyone in Megadeth longer than a year because of Dave's power craziness and kicking the whole band and others resigning because of they are full of Dave's behaviour.

And of course there will be different albums when there's a band like a family: It was always James, Kirk, and Lars, and it still would be Cliff without that tragedy.
And Metallica is more radio friendly because they can compose calm ballads which are still heavy as hell - the songs that I hear from the radio are Fade to Black, Nothing Else Matters, One, The Day That Never Comes, along with some heavier stuff from the Rock stations such as Master of Puppets, Dyers Eve, Jump In The Fire...

Radio play doesn't mean anything, it depends on the radio station and which type of music they play. And like there aren't any memorable riffs from Metallica?
Creeping Death, Seek & Destroy, Disposable Heroes, For Whom The Bell Tolls... not to mention vocals, which you don't even want to remember from Megadeth's songs.
Peace Sells and Rust In Peace are really great albums, one of my favorites, but they just don't surpass Puppets and Justice. End. Don't reply.

Metallica sold more because THEIR commercial albums were better than MEGADETH's commercial albums. Got that?

Youthanasia wasnt commercial dumbass -.- I fail to believe Reckoning Day, I Thought I knew it All, and Black Curtains were. That album was full of sexy solos and great musicianship. Metallica's sold more because they were already uber-hyped from the Black Album dingus. Not cause they were better.

Power crazy? yes Dave kicked out the original line up for selling equipment for herion, the second line up for better musicians, the 3rd line up because they lost their balls. Glenn Drover left for family reasons and they go broderick.
James made Newsted leave because he was making another album when they were not touring or recording (metallica), so who is the power crazy one? Hetfield. Better band again [v]egadeth.

Megadeth was known to be the most tehcnically proficient metal band in the 80's.
Who is better at playing music and making metal? Megadeth. who is a better COMMERCIAL RADIO FRIENDLY band?
