One thing I've realized since posting this video is that there is a huge difference depending on whether one has had surgery prior to the cast being put on. In my case, I had not so I felt safe using the relatively soft, smooth device described. But for those with stitches, I agree with ZZ502Hoss and would avoid sticking anything in there.
Argh, that's a tough one. I'm afraid I can't be of much help. Perhaps, if you know where they are, you can avoid them and use a very short version as to not reach the damaged area...but if you try that, be VERY careful. Good luck.
@neverendingnewport - Yikes! Sounds like you are trying to be the new Evel Knievel
@sebster - I empathize. That's the best I came up with. I hope you heal quickly. Can't vouch for this, but I recently saw it something called a "Cast Cooler" - I can't post a link here, but give it a search.
Brilliant! growing up I had six broken arms. Currently I'm in a leg cast and will be for a while considering how bad the breaks are. I would've never thought about this. Nice find!

Don't ever stick anything down your cast....you can do major damage.
I also saw the CastCooler on YouTube. Search for that.
Good luck.
