I own a '73 240Z. L28 (stock internals), 280ZX dizzy,5-speed, 3.36 rear, L24 carbs,6-2-1 header, resonator, 2.5" pipe, Magnaflow, 195/70/14 Hi Per summer tires on Libre wheels, Eibach progressive springs, G2R shocks, Toyota disc brakes, f+r HD sways, f+r tower braces, frt air dam, BRE spoiler. My 2.8 at 5500 RPM is about outa power with the mild cam and stock carbs. That's where I shift. How come you never took yours over 5000? Gotta do cam, springs, head to take advantage of the Webers . Soon.
lol i remember when people said L28 engine was crappier and lower compression rate than the 24 and 26, now everyone is swapping for L28 so much that theres hardly any 280ZX`s with original engines, without knowing it, 240z and 260z owners pre-pwned themselfes 27 years into the future when they said L28 was a crappier engine :P
rev that thing up guy!

The L24 is a sweet hi-revving engine, but there's no doubt adding ~400cc's is a torque adder.
I had a hi compression L28 with triples...upgraded to a 3.1
