  • @Azull2009 errr man up a bit and deal with the harsh reality of it, to be fair its not liek he hit them its perfectly normal, ferrets have tough skins and bendy bidys it dont hurt em one bit.......Ferrets have been used for years to get rabbit for the freezer you treat em as working animals they have there purpose they aint fukin pet hamsters!!!!!!

  • good on im he take the right approach on life... seems like a proper legend.. lovin the devon accents to

  • Great fella, nice ferrets, swift kill....but the hook use was out of order!

  • @kaeso100 can you blame him, he is 90, and doesn't have a dog to bring them to him. maybe you could get him a nice lurcher.

  • @morgasm657 Haha...you are the one on the puppy-hunt fella...meet me half-way?! lol! Still think the hook is mean, lurcher or not!

  • @kaeso100 really he should have hooked the net and pulled it down, or maybe he could have hooked the rabbit and brought it down, at least that way he would have got his dinner.

  • @morgasm657 He could have done either or both, but he didn't, and his freezer is full of game anyway in my opinion! If that bunny received wounds from that hook, it may well have died a long, painful death. Hunters always tell me that the 'prey' dies quickly and humanely....not the always the case! You know that....

  • @kaeso100 indeed it could have died a long and painful death, but what's to say it wont anyway? nature doesn't deal in humane deaths. stuff dies, everything else gets on with it. the only things that care are soft humans. they wont thank you for not causing them suffering. they still are a huge pest, and in the long run its more important that they die than that they don't suffer. personally i do everything i can to avoid causing suffering, but that's due to my own retarded softness.

  • @morgasm657 Using man-made weapons and domesticated animals that rely on a human caretaker is not nature. While a 'natural' death may cause suffering, a prolonged and painful death at the hands of human involvement is just unacceptable. In order o reduce 'pest' rabbit populations, stop hunting their natural predators makes sense to me...?! Hope the pup is doing well!

  • @kaeso100 humans are a part of nature. anything and everything we do is natural. because we evolved like this. let me assure you there is not much in the way of a shortage of foxes, despite our best efforts. and the other predators that hunt rabbits? roads kill far more of them than hunters do.

pups doing well, she will no doubt make an excellent rabbit, fox and deer dog, maybe even hare if she can hack it.

  • join the best ferreting forum online the link is on my youtube profile

  • It's nice seeing domesticated, carnivorous animals being put to use.

My fat shih-tzu / lhasa apso mix serves no other purpose than begging for food, lounging on the couch and farting in his sleep xD

  • still wish ferreting wasnt illegal in the states :(

  • @TheOneTheyCallVi couldnt care just go and ferret

  • man at 2:17 that man looks like a badass, a ferret in his hand a smoke in his mouth and his hand deep in the hole pulling out the rabbit

  • i take my hat of to frank fereting at his age its a good fun way of life renembre support game meat

  • I wish ferreting was more popular here in the US. It looks like fun.

  • how did old man hit a rabbit back neck spinebone break and quickly die

  • @bestamerica KARATE CHOP

  • We could all learn so much from our elders and thier cusoms. I enjoy learning such practices as ferreting and sharing them with my sons. Together, we continue with some very valuable lessons and experiances.

  • I can't believe the stupid comments from obviously American citizens. You twats can talk after all the buffalo your ancestors killed.Get a fucking life.

  • i dont really get how it works can someone explain pleze it looks fun haha

  • I'm unsure. But from reading the comments I believe that the Ferret is somehow able to naturally "gas and poison" the rabbit out of the hole. The hunter must put nets over the hole to stop birds of prey swooping down and stealing the Ferret. It is an ancient and noble form of hunting. Hope this helps.

  • Almost. :) First the nets are set across holes and then the ferret is sent underground. The ferret chases the rabbits out and they get tangled in the nets. When the rabbit is caught in the net, the hunter removes the rabbit, kills it and resets the net so it can catch another. :)

  • @AMuscleInTheDark you are a retard they put the net so the rabbit doesnt run away.

they scare them out not gas them

  • @gibbo2317 from wikipedia-

    Characteristics-

Ferrets have a long and slender body covered with brown, black, white, or mixed fur. Average length is 20 inches including a 5 inch tail and they weigh 1.5 to 4 pounds. The males are substantially larger than the females. They produce a poisonous gas which is deadly to many other animals, especially rabbits. Gestation is 42 days and litter size averages 3 to 7. Sexual maturity may come at 6 months. Average life span is 8 years.

  • Ferret hunting is not the most effective way of hunting? WRONG! Is the most humane! Wrong!

I use my home made mini remote control tunnel-bot adaptation with an electrical 'death-prod' armament powered by an external generator.

My most kills? 95 rabbits from one hole! I can choose instant kill or slow kill. I choose slow kill because the rabbit runs out of the hole in terrific pain to die.

Yes I could choose instant kill but dead rabbits tend to block up the hole with this method.

  • You cunt

  • Funny thing is, you don't realize that you are putting your ferrets in as much danger as the rabbits are. I'm waiting for a bird of prey to swoop down and eagerly take your precious little ferret from you, and carry it off. I think it would take something as tragic as that to make you see that there are far better ways of hunting.

    Do not reply, I am done with this, you pathetic scum. I stand by my people, that you people are pathetic and dumb, and you cannot change that. C;

  • I've been ferreting for years and am quite confident that my ferrets are quite safe. A bird of prey? Really?

    XD

    Hilarious.

Name the better ways of hunting. Go on. :) I've tried many and ferreting remains, for my area, the most effective and humane.

  • @ThePolecatty Alright dude, you're a moron. Personally I'd be out there killing the ferrets, as much as I like them. LMAO.

  • If you can find a place where ferrets are causing an environmental upset, or if you like the taste of ferret, then you go right ahead. I wouldn't try to stop you.

I know you attempted to tailor your comment to upset me, but it was a very ineffective pot shot. Sorry.

  • Just because you're a fucking pussy that can't hunt for himself, and has to use a ferret to do it, doesn't mean you are anymore educated. You have personal experience, but that doesn't make you smarter. Sorry to burst your bubble.

Also, sorry to say but people with common sense, who support traditional hunting (as it is today) see this as a pathetic way of hunting. Just because you are deranged enough to think this is perfectly fine, doesn't mean everyone is.

  • I can hunt for myself, quite easily. I use a variety of methods but ferreting is, simply, very effective. I won't hesitate to say that I am far more educated on this subject than you, and very likely a host of others as well.

This is traditional hunting, deary. It has been practised for 2500 years. It is much more traditional than many other methods in use today.

You're really worked up, aren't you? A shame that you've made yourself look like a complete muppet through your ignorant rambling.

  • @ThePolecatty You're retarded. Stop replying to my messages, I'm tired of seeing them pop up on my phone, you fucking moron.

  • If you can't handle responses to your rubbish then you should not have run off at the mouth to begin with. You'rs is such a typical response to being backed into a corner.

You know nothing and you've only just realised it. Sad.

  • @ThePolecatty

I'm in a corner? Really? Naw dude, I could give you a fucking debate, I just, to be honest, do not care about your retarded opinion.

If you're such a pussy you can't hunt for yourself, you can hardly call yourself a hunter.

Thats the last you'll hear from me.

Next time you go huntin' do it yourself, you pathetic Britt.

  • Yes, backed into a corner. I can tell when a person has no logical points to back up their opinions.

I could hunt by myself, if I chose to. However, I prefer to work alongside the ferrets. I don't care if you think I'm a hunter or not. I remove rabbits and do it well.

Not a dude, nor a Britt.

There's your foolishness and ignorance shining through again.

  • Helpful hint: Calling people 'retarded' in no way distracts from the fact that you are ignorant. You might want to consider that in the future...it may just save you from looking like a reactive fool.

  • Don't you dare fucking tell me that I need to educate myself. I'm not the one who thinks this man is handling his animals with care, and thinks this is a humane way of hunting. It is a cowardly way of hunting, almost as cowardly as canned hunting.

You give a few examples, good for you, but you don't explain how it is any more humane. Gassing and poisoning? Really? That is your best shot? Like I said, you are dumb.

  • I will tell you, because you very obviously need it. Sorry sweetheart, but you are just talking rubbish.

I've seen it all done and it is humane. It is quick, animals are not left behind to suffer and it provides little disturbance to the area. Hunting is not about being 'cowardly'. It is about being efficient. Shooting a rabbit from across the paddock isn't exactly hero-worthy either, but that isn't the purpose of hunting. The purpose is to put meat on the table and to remove pests.

  • Yes, gassing and poisoning. Two effective methods of rabbit control, but ones which cause a lot of suffering. I take it you've never seen a rabbit dying from Pindone or 1080 poison...if you had, perhaps you wouldn't be so quick to be scornful. But, that is about the level of intelligence I expect from people who have no experience in these matters and blinkered world views.

Ferreting works immediately. Death by poison can take up to a week.

  • wow kandi you really are ignorant

  • Comment removed

  • Thank God for subtitles.

  • what didya say...... he poked da rabbit outof da net.... bloody young ens.... ha ..fair play tya..

  • I wish he will be a rabbit in next life....

  • nice work frank good 2 see u still out at 90

  • lol

    "What you say?"

pimped smacked the hell out of that rabbit.

  • that video was awsome

  • Great guy. Good to see somone of that age still hunting. BTW if anyone knows how to train your ferrets up fro hunting please message me. Thanks.

  • @airgunner106 I can understand a older man using animals for hunting, but someone who is still young needs to get off his lazy ass and do it himself.

  • And how do you get your food? Hunting and earning it? or do you buy meat from the grocery store like a pathetic coward. Oh, maybe you're a vegetarian, in which case you don't really understand much about the human body...

  • @drukqsi Because using animals to hunt for you isn't cowardly. Right.

So the majority of the human race are pathetic cowards?

I know hunters, and I think its a good thing for people to be taking care of the populations. But to show such obvious fucking disrespect for your game, like people who use animals do to the hard work for them, and play at an unfair advantage, is just wrong.

We have evolved beyond that, I think its time our ways of hunting does too.

    Whatever, retard, I'm done here.

  • It isn't. It's what makes us different. Each animal has it's own method of hunting. We just happen to be able to use other animals that might be more adept at a certain task. And yes, I do think most humans are pathetic cowards. Also, there's no disrespect. I'm sure Frank and his animals both respect eachother, or he'd be harming them and the ferret would be biting him. Also, it's pretty clear I'm not retarded, but nice effort, kandixcorpsexscenexanimexpetaximsmarterthanyouxxxxxXxxxxxlolxcore

  • Ha, found this video on you channel, lol. Great stuff. To those who oppose you drukqsi, I offer, for all of your consideration, the domestic dog, Canis lupus familiarus. Were it not for our developed symbiotic relationship with this animal, we, nor the dog, would have ascended to the levels we've currently attained. It's generally agreed upon in the scientific community. I'd suggest doing your research. Now if you try to argue that this relationship is different than Frank's with his ferrets

  • then you really don't have a lot of gray cells, and I encourage you to quit while you're behind. The point being that you may argue that this relationship is inhumane, or whatever, but the point stands that I doubt you'd argue against the relationship between man and his dog, and we got to the point we're out now by helping each other in just such a way.

  • Additionally, I worked and ran an exotic animal store for 4 years, and have worked extensively with the domestic ferret. I will say that they are HIGHLY flexible, and due in part to their propensity to rough house like dogs, have a very high tolerance for discomfort. Their skeletal system allows for said flexibility, which is also part of what makes them so adept at hunting in burrows. I saw nothing in this video to make me believe these ferrets were undergoing discomfort, or rough handling.

  • I like this dude :)

My godfather is 93 and he too always says - move, do something and don't whine about life.

He goes to his veteran meetings regurally, he walks some 2 miles to big market even though he has free retired riding ticket. Never shows any signs of pesimism or slowness in reason. Always eager to come to family meetings etc.

Never let your life go away

  • I wonder why ferreting has never been popular in my country ..

We have wild ferrets (I mean historically. Nowdays you can buy one as a pet), so logically you could domesticate them.

    We have hare and rabits.

However I have never heard anyone does ferreting.

  • my hero...lol

  • Oh shit!....hes smoking....better tell him its bad for his health! You would think a 90 yo man would know better

  • lol he still smokes

  • shame he tryed too hit the one in the net... it shok the net off it doing that

  • lol the ferret at 2:29 is thinking ummm...uhh..what?

  • That guy was awesome! :)

  • Freedygotfingered23 should be the one shutting up becuase he clearly doesnt know anything about working with ferrets

  • paras101 - he hit the rabbit with a hook to kill it

  • were did u get that video

  • fair play mate can i just say u realy dont look 90

  • the paras 101 is a dick u clearly have no idea what ur talking about this guy knows what he doing he a legend!!!!

  • Paras is talking sense about when hes smoking over rabbit burrows it takes not alot of thinking to figure that out

  • Hes handling the ferrets rough and hitting another with a hook and finally rabbits can hear people talking very clearly and hes smoking rabbits have a very good sense of smell

  • It's a ferret. They way he handles them is not rough. Sure you wouldn't handle a goldfish like that but then again goldfish are not hunting animals, are they?

And he didn't hit any ferrets. He hit the a rabbit with the hook.

  • A Ferret has emotions aswell.

He did hit the other ferret in the head with the carrying box if you were watching.

And why hit a rabbit with the hook grab it ? no need for the hook

  • paras shut up

  • If he did hit the ferret then it would only have been because it tried to bite him, that is not fun!

  • @R0WMaC I'd love to see how you'd feel about being dangled by your fucking neck.

You don't know if he were hurting the poor things or not.

This is a disgraceful way of hunting. You should respect your game.

  • Comparing humans to ferrets is the foundation of a great argument - well done.

  • @R0WMaC Thinking that a ferret cannot feel pain in its neck and that it is okay to dangle the animal by his neck, to be honest, is no better.

Humans are animals. I don't understand why people think that things that hurt us, won't hurt animals. Animals DO have feelings. They CAN feel and register pain.

You are a moron if you think otherwise...

  • Horses don't feel pain if you pull on their mane. Certain animals, like cats, pick their babies up by their necks all the time. Just a few examples. So shut up before you cry more.

  • @drukqsi So I can't compare ferrets to humans, but you can compare them to horses and cats? That really makes a lot of sense. :/

Cats =/= ferrets. Horses =/= ferrets. I'd like to see you jerk a ferret by its tail or ears, and not expect to be bitten.

The difference between a mother cat carrying her kitten by the neck and a 90 year old man grabbing a ferret by the neck, is that the mother cat is carrying its kitten gently. This man obviously did not have a very relaxed grip.

    lolol 'cry moar'.

  • You're an idiot. I'm not comparing them. I'm giving real world examples of how animals do feel things differently than humans. I guarantee you know shit about a ferret's physiology. Besides, I didn't really see how his grip was that awful, considering the ferret wasn't fighting it or anything. By the way you don't really sound mature when you say lolol. Just a suggestion if you want to be taken seriously.

  • @drukqsi Good god, you are retarded. :/

When something grabs you by the back of your neck, its rather hard to squirm and thrash. But then again you're some retard who thinks that animals don't feel pain, amirite?

And yeah, telling me to go cry more is really making you look fucking mature, fag. Frankly, I could give a shit less what you think of me. I'm just bored. ;]

  • Trying to insult my intelligence because your insecure about your own argument is really making me see the light. Keep it up kandi, you're doing great.

  • I'm very familiar with ferrets, hunting with them and proper handling. Perhaps you didn't notice, but he was grasping the ferrets around the shoulders, which is perfectly acceptable handling. His ferrets were all in good condition and were not resisting him- if he was hurting them then they certainly would have.

It is not a disgraceful way of hunting- it is far more humane than other methods of control, which include ripping, gassing and poisoning.

    You need to educate yourself.
