  • way to fast, this sound terrible.

  • Wow that one first soprano sounds Iike she's trying a little too hard lol maybe she should be an alto or mezzo soprano

  • not bad... REALLY inconsistent tempo though... or is that the recording?

  • @mackenenzie Dr. Roush, the conductor here, (i've spoken with him since i'm in this choir now), has stated that he got too excited and rushed. Adrenaline and excitement and junk. lol

Hasn't happened in a while, though.

  • ... the men are supposed to whisper at 1:41 & on... just sayin....

  • I can't stop listening to this. If God had written a song to Saul, this is what it wouldve sounded like. If that makes sense hahah :)

  • well...I THINK WE DID GREAT!!!!!

  • I prefer this song when it's not rushed, it sounds like you are struggling to get all the words out.

  • @chelseawise2416 DR got too excited and rushed it. He knew. lol =P

  • band conducting.... and focus more on the accents..IT`S LATIN NOT PLANE ENGLISH

  • @dragonsword343

    plane english? err

  • @dragonsword343 is plane English something they only speak on planes?

  • @mackenenzie u got it... it`s a secret form of english that is only allowed to be spoken on planes xD

  • @dragonsword343 Oh come on, it's not bad conducting. It's "HOLY CRAP, I'M TOO EXCITED" conducting.

Also, the Latin suffered because of the crackhead speed he took.

The choir's Latin on the slower parts, if you notice, is flawless. so...

  • @TitusBrownMusic oh sorry man, I`m a ahrsh music critique; and since I saw plenty other ensables doing this piece with better diction, tells me that it`s possible, so the tempo was not the issue :P

  • sopranos sound a little sharp, and there is one soprano in your group you can hear more than the rest..the timing was was off in some places and made he song sound way to rushed in the beginning. Some of the men during the Vexate right before the why why why sound like there saying it from there nose but over all it was great and the turn darkness into light part was great..im sorry im just really picky when it comes to music

  • my choir is singing this too!! Its hard to learn we started with counting its a lot easier. and imafighternotalover the boys are supposed to be shouting in some places.

  • I did this back in 2004 with the Louisiana All-State Honor Choir and it was our favorite song. We also had Stroope as our guest conductor. It was a blast. This is how fast it's supposed to go. We went a little faster cause we loved it that much. I'll try to find my version of it and post it up here!

  • My high school chorale is singing this!

  • mine too!

  • Also, Mine too!

  • I like the tempo. This song requires such crisp vowels though to truly capture the full effect.

  • Oops! I mean crisp consonants.

  • Hey I know these people! *happy dance* Yay for my school and its Choir :D

  • sopranos: sounds a little sharp all over basses little heavey, sopranos very piercing, light .... too much soprano after light it sounded lots better... like this rendition

  • It was really good for the most part. But it just sounds like they are shouting in some places (singing, I know that there literally is shouting in this peice)

It amazed me how clean the first section was, the speed was amazing.

  • awesome.

  • I did this song in high school!

  • Same here, but this was way better than how we performed it. I would know, I go to this school.
