R34 and R35 are 2 different cars, Ones a Skyline and the other is just called a GTR. Actually i'm glad they did that, because a Skyline has always been powered by a straight engine. I like the R35, but the VR could never replace the RB in my mind.

it's been released in the U.S. since July 7 this year. Japan got it in December 2007. 4 people in the U.S already have a problem with the car. they found out if u take off the vdc u void ur warranty. which means for u to go 0-60 in 3.4sec u have to void ur warranty.
the GTR is a greatly engineered vehicle. anyone who thinks otherwise is just a hater. its got so much thought and engineering in it that u cant possibly hate the car. nitrogen tires. engine components assembled in a lab. handbuilt. the base gtr has lapped nurburgring faster than anything except a zonda and a zr1. so spec v will be the new king

heres the truth from over 30 years of experiece with mercedes, the build quality will be almost as good as most german cars for a lot less, and with those bridgestones the 997 turbo wont compete. the looks are total crap in my view, but 04 nsx is only jap car ive ever liked. the viper acr and gt2 will win at track cuz of their pilot sport cup tires, august c/d. the zr1/zo6 would easily win with cups too. the gt-r is a bargain, but i wouldn't buy it. the gt-r 7:29 had 475 whp, road cars down 415.

Secondly I didn't know that time trials around the nurburgring were considered to be races. There is a vid of the new GT2 going around the ring in 7:32 though. Search Porsche just released.

Driver makes a big difference over such a long track.
FYI the LS7 in the Covervette Z06 weighs 450lbs and is 7.0l and gets 505hp. The 3.6l in the Porsche 997 weighs the same as the Z06 has about half the displacement, and makes only 320hp. Which design is inefficent again? Its all about weight, you cant just compare displacements between two entirely different engine designs and say OHV sucks and DOHC rocks. I've shown you with stats that you're wrong. Weight matters displacement not so much.

It can go as wrong as the Z06 went for the yanks. The build quality is far from superior, the interior is cheap and tacky (taken from other nissans) and its FAR from balanced. the c6r is not the same as the road going variants. that being said the new z06 is a shocking quick car around corners too. and yes it does have leaf springs. transverse leaf springs wit special dampers. ive serviced these cars i know. but only the c6 is good on the road the new z06 is awfully unrefined. but i still like the new gtr better. plus its faster anywas. btw to the guy wit the f1 comment. traction control is out of the 08 season.

Corvette and GT-R are great cars. Corvette is also very fast at the race track despite some comments, you have no clue! A Z06 keeps the trackrecord on Nürbugring für stockcars, even faster than a 911 GT3! Nissan will probably beat the vette and thats really impressive in fact of the weight! Nissan made a great, well-balanced car.

They've just announced that when top gear review the gtr, its going to be a race like they did with the veyron, mclaren slr, aston martin db9 etc. This race will be in Japan, and the GTR will be against a japanese bullet train.

Yep. "the Gr. A Nissan entry qualified on pole and lead the race from start to finish. The GT-R had a one minute lead before end of first hour. By early morning it was clear by 3 laps, eventually winning by a crushing 21 laps from the Porsche Carerra 2 in second place. In Gr. N class, the Nissan GT-R's finished 1-2. Nissan GTR was just timed on the Nurburghring at 7.29
The only car that beat it is the pagani zonda clubsport and that costs 7x as much as the GTR.
So it beat the Mclaren SLR, Porsche Carrera GT, Ferrari Enzo, Buggatti Veyron, Dodge Viper, Aston Martins, Bentleys etc etc.

Well first of all I don't believe Nissan's claims because that is a non official timing, and there is no video of it running a 7:29. Secondly I didn't know that time trials around the nurburgring were considered to be races. There is a vid of the new GT2 going around the ring in 7:32 though. Search Porsche just released.

one word...bollocks. The 7:29 nurburgring lap is OFFICIAL and was announced by nissan itself. However the V-Spec which is still under testing, has been unofficially lapped at 7:25. thats only 3s quicker than the base gt-r at the moment, so, it has even more to come, just like how the base model destroyed its own record by 9s. Think 7:20 or under for the v-spec...Gosh i love this car. All hail nissan.

Where is the video of the 7:29 lap? The only GTR lap of the ring was a 7:38 by Toshio Suzuki, an ex F1 driver. The Porsche 997 GT2 lapped the ring in 7:32 and there is a video of this on youtube.

The Veyron test was done from a journalist from Wheels mag, australia. Re-do the test with a proper Ring racer and lets see the times go below 7.20. Wanna proof how journalists drive so much slower than an experienced ring racer. Look at jeremy clarkson's 9.59 time in a diesel s-type, Sabine Schmidt did it in 9.12. Driver makes a big difference over such a long track.

FYI the LS7 in the Covervette Z06 weighs 450lbs and is 7.0l and gets 505hp. The 3.6l in the Porsche 997 weighs the same as the Z06 has about half the displacement, and makes only 320hp. Which design is inefficent again? Its all about weight, you cant just compare displacements between two entirely different engine designs and say OHV sucks and DOHC rocks. I've shown you with stats that you're wrong. Weight matters displacement not so much.

Its just a new trend. I myself am on the pre-order list for the GTR. And I wonder how Im going to adjust to the flappy-paddle gearbox. I mean nomore heel-toe or awsome powershifts. But I do think havin the fullauto will be a big help when Im goin into the city. But like they say its a car for the videogame era. And its just another step tword the evolution.

That gt-r will kill the competition. I agree with you guys. For a car thats going to give you trills and speeds of 0-60 in 3.5 sec for 70,000 bucks you just cant go wrong. The list of goodies for GT_R just keep growing and this is just the beggining.

It can go as wrong as the Z06 went for the yanks. The build quality is far from superior, the interior is cheap and tacky (taken from other nissans) and its FAR from balanced. BUT, just like Nissan, they are banking on all their gizmos and electronics that just end up being obnoxious and taking away from the true 'driving experience' in the end. Not to mention that is attention grabbing simply because it's bloody disgusting looking.Also the r35 is going to be closer to 100k+ USD in the colonies.

the c6r is not the same as the road going variants. that being said the new z06 is a shocking quick car around corners too. and yes it does have leaf springs. transverse leaf springs wit special dampers. ive serviced these cars i know. but only the c6 is good on the road the new z06 is awfully unrefined. but i still like the new gtr better. plus its faster anywas. btw to the guy wit the f1 comment. traction control is out of the 08 season.

Where is everyone getting off saying the GTR outhandles the Z06? just cuz its japanese? the Z06 already has perfect 50/50 weight distribution and with a 7 liter engine up front thats some real enginering! 0-60 the GTR may barely get the best of the Z06 due to traction issues, but i'm 99% sure i saw the Z06 is faster 0-100 and just keeps going. the GTR is a badass ride, but i'd rather have the Z06, or even better...the ZR1. GTR can't hold a candle to the forced-fed vette.

Corvette and GT-R are great cars. Corvette is also very fast at the race track despite some comments, you have no clue! A Z06 keeps the trackrecord on Nürbugring für stockcars, even faster than a 911 GT3! Nissan will probably beat the vette and thats really impressive in fact of the weight! Nissan made a great, well-balanced car.
