  • im very interested in the sr16ve motor how does it compare to the sr20ve do you know? it has less horse power but does the sr16ve rev faster since its a 1.6 stroke? did you have to do any upgrades to the pistons or rods to handle the turbo cause i have heard the bottoms ends of these motors are really weak compared to the sr20det motors, and i was wondering on the gear ratio on the transmission how is that compared to the standard 2.0 tranny? thanks let me know.....

  • @LVTeamIOD

Main differences between SR16VE and SR20VE: SR16VE has bigger (more lift / duration) cams SR16VE is shorter stroke (68.7mm versus 86mm) SR16VE has longer conrods which are also narrower in cross-section

SR16VE rev's really well, but are quite strong at low revs (for a 1.6), the VVL does a great job. I chose to go forged internals (pistons/conrods) and lower the compression ratio (8.8:1), stock crank is fine. PM me for more details on the build if interested.

  • No joke. Measured at wheels, not engine. 3rd gear power run, and have dyno sheets to prove it. Probably equals about 280Nm at engine.

  • 665nm??? what a joke :D and SR16VE engines is not 405nm NA.

  • Nice!!!

    And the power??
