ones picasa did this automatic scan in my harddrive to uload or categorize all my pictures, will this effect my pictures?..does it make it more eveident and easier for all the photo's to be accesed?..also does this automatically save it or upload it online at picasa?...plz someone let me know..thnx
hey I just wanted to ask if someone here has use both of picasa and photoshop and I want to know if picasa is better becasuse I'm using photoshop ...if anyone knows please reply.....
Photoshop allows detailed, specific editing. Picasa is for basic, overall stuff. I don't own PS. I've been using Picasa for years, and I'm even happier with Picasa2.
Picasa doesnt hold a candle to photoshop. However if you are looking for a simple and basic way to edit photos then yes it is better for you. But for those of us that are into extensive way to graphically design photos photoshop is WAY better. So in the long run for people who dont want to have to learn all kinds of techniques and tools etc then picasa is for you :)

I have Picasa2 and love it. Now Picasa3 is out. If I download Picasa3 will it convert my edits and pics in Picasa2 over to it? Also can you add a music tract to Picasa3 slides, and if so, how? Thanks for the tips. loubar
the prob i'm having with picasa is that after i make one or two edits, i can not get any stores to print the photo for me without giving me a "low resolution" warning for anything over a 5X7! any ideas on why this is happening?
You cannot compare Photoshop with Picasa. Most people will just use the simple tools in Picasa. Photoshop is overkill for the average person; it's difficult to use. Picasa is the best tool for the average user. It will enable you to do those things that most people will use. Picasa has an easy to use system for viewing pictures. Much better than the cumbersome Bridge program that Photoshop has started using. Adobe couldn't make an easy to use program if it's life depended on it.
The video portion of PIcasa2 is not taking my video from my camera..only still shots are being transferred..is this my problem or Picasa????Thank you....Judy..Helppppppppp!!!!
Cant believe some people are using Microsoft Windows Explorer and Microsoft Windows Picture and Fax Viewer:
Start menu>My Computer>Shared Documents>Shared Pictures>browse through long list of folders and choose the right one>click a photo>click the slideshow button
Just try Google Picasa its much easier:
Click Picasa>Choose an album or search for albums>click slideshow
I have a question that I cant find the answer to anywhere. The crop feature lets you trim photos, is it possible to enlarge photos, such as stretching a wide screen photo into a full screen one????
All I said was that I thought CS3 is better! Oh illegal? Oh no... alert the media... too bad like millions of other people are doing it... join the club...
Ok, thank you very much. But I still have a little doubt. If I uninstall picasa and install it again, the photos in my hard drive will keep their key words?
A similar question: I´ll copy all my images (that already have their key words ) to my notebook. And also will install picasa, it will detect their key words or I´ll have to write them again?
IT´s great. I have 2 questions: Do you know any ather software that´s better than picasa? (to search your pictures) And, do you know where in your pc, are saved the key words that you write to the pictures? I´m asking this because i want to format my pc but i want to keep my photos and there key words too.
I haven't found a program equal to Picasa yet...free or otherwise.
If you need to format your computer (or just be smart about your picture data), use the built-in backup utility in Picasa. Tools --> Backup Works great and will preserve your key words, pics, et al.
Picasa's nice for some things (viewing) but seriously flawed in other aspects. The fact that it does not save edits to the original images is painful beyond belief. And it's often unaware of new images appearing in 'scan always' folders.
i'm so confused. even after watching all this.
i was told that picasa would group automatically all the pics of each person together. but how? how do we get them to group together? its soo hard.

I don't think you can edit eye color.
wait, I just saw you said for P3. I've only used P2 and the original. I'll have to check out P3. didn't know it was out.

Picasa is an awesome product!!!
I've been using it for years.
just remember to press Ctrl + S (save) after you finish your editing, otherwise nothing will be saved, and you'll have your original picture back.

Two totally different products Alice. Picasa is for managing your photos with some VERY light editing features. Photoshop is for editing your photos.

Yes, your Picasa2 library will move over to 3 without a problem. And no, to my knowledge, you still can't add music to a slideshow created in Picasa.

Your photos are low resolution, you can print 8x10 photos but they won't look good.
Go to Options and set output to "original size".

You can't make a picture larger in any program than it already is because of the pixels...they would get stretched out and make your photo blurry.

To be honest, I'll stick to 'Adobe Photoshop CS3' it's uncannily better...
LightRadon 4 years ago
And yet PS CS3 is a totally different genre of software...and costs $500+ versus FREE for Picasa.

Not if you download it...
