Now I think the AI of STLegacy is REALLY stupid. If the AI had been smart, it could've kept running and try to only tackle one constitution at a time, instead of getting surrounded and pounded by all four. I'm still surprised that 4, 100 year old Constitutions can destroy a Sovereign
Even against four Constitution class a Sovereign's quantum torpedoes would rip through the older ship's shields after the initial barrage. Sovereign would come out ahead especially if commanded by Picard plus having a century's worth of technology gap would ensure that.
Well, I don't think so, you must remember, that the Sovereign can only fire one/two phaser(s) at a time, the connies can fire up to 8 at once! And can launch 12 torpedoes after eachother, even though there's a 100 years difference, the Connies are still likely to win.
Seems a shame to see such a cool starship get pwned by its elders. Yet, both designs are very good ones. Better than the original TOS design, at least. Mind if I ask you to try a two on two match? Two Alt-Constitutions vs. Two Sovereigns? I thought it might be even.
because they had to switch to new tech. From what we saw in star trek V or II I'd want the old tech back. The old deflector shields that snap on in a instant is much better than that shield grid in star trek II.
The old weapons are better in a sense. I mean the refit enterprise has slow ass torpedo launchers that fire in such a slow rate (ST 1-6). The TOS enterprise (remastered) fires at a much more rapid rate with just one launcher. Also is it right for such a big ship to be spitting out pulse phasers? Wouldn't a beam phaser be better.
well they have engineers that come up with new stuff and want the ships to be outfitted with them. New doesn't mean better but it's just new. I mean for example in ST VI the refit enterprise is being hammered by 1 klingon BOP. the warp core buckles, they get a hull breach, and the shields fail. In TOS the enterprise wipes the floor with any birds of preys with the shields still in tact.
I'm not saying it's bad drama or anything but after so many years of seeing what the connie can or can't do on TOS and the movies. I was kind of not buying the fact that a connie can't take on one bird of prey.
You seem to have missed my point on my own personal opinion. I was comparing two designs to one which I consider obsolete. I'm both glad they refitted the old design and didn't implement the old model in the recent movie. Even despite the remastered version of the old ship, if given a choice between a turd with warp nacelles attached and the original smoked into existence model, I would choose the former. That's my own opinion for which I do not wish to force on anyone else.
Just normal would be fine. I don't know how the alternate ships are different in the mirror universe, but it wouldn't exactly answer my question. Up to you, ultimately.
That actually sounds interesting. Have they beefed up the weapons, too? I mean, supposedly the mirror universe is supposed to be more aggressive and therefor arm their ships with as many weapons as possible and give them the ability to cloak, even. I think I'd be interested in seeing that version of the Alt. Enterprise in action after this proposed scenario.
I meant to say I appreciate it in the previous comment, lol! I will make that video, but you'll have to wait for it, because I also need to make other videos first!
Not much of a battle...

@virusguy5611 Well, I guess that it's due to the AI then!
I think that if it would have targeted the ships one by one, fired with photons, that the Sovereign would have won.

Ok : )
I've not seen TNG or TOS yet.. only the movies! So far, I've only seen Captain Archer, Janeway and Sisko detailed 'in action'.

Haha, seems like my birthday brought something good to you! Well, I'm glad that you got over it! : )
STLegacy 2 years ago
Then you should watch another video! I have a Legacy Star Trek VS Star Wars video, in which the Sovereign participates, as far as I can remember. ; )
STLegacy 2 years ago
Whoops! It was the Armored Voyager. I hope that that's good enough as well for you! (Transphasic Torpedos!)

thought this game was good

I think it is, aside from occasional dancing torpedos!

TOS connie is better than the refit. :D
hoppers001 2 years ago
If it is, why did they give it a refit :P ?

Oh, I thought that you meant, looking to weapons and shields, the old one's better.

Could be, but why would the Federation want to update a ship, and the update would make it worse than it was?

dont forget, the script writers decided that the BOP would hammer the Enterprise :P
it doesnt mean the refit was weaker or anything
it just made good drama on the big screen

hoppers001 2 years ago
Can't it? Maybe it's because, in the movies, they could make the special effects for clear visible damage, and not in the TOS series.
STLegacy 2 years ago
In a fair fight with a full crew a BOP is no match for a Constitution Class ship has it outguns the BOP 10 to 1.

what are you talking about?
hoppers001 2 years ago
Two Alt Constitutions, terran or not?
STLegacy 2 years ago
What do you mean? I'm not sure if you're asking about mirror universe versions or something.
danieldb631 2 years ago
Yes, humans are called terrans in the mirror universe. I mean the mirror universe alt 2009 Constitution.
STLegacy 2 years ago
Just normal would be fine. I don't know how the alternate ships are different in the mirror universe, but it wouldn't exactly answer my question. Up to you, ultimately.
danieldb631 2 years ago
Ok, so normal it will be. The difference is that the Mirror Universe one has some nice yellow parts, and I've edited it's phasers, to be yellow too.

Ok, I will make a video about the Mirror Universe Alternate Constitution, after the proposed scenario of yours!

Well the outcome wasn't as I had expected. Very Good video
