I really like a lot of your covers, very talented...but you should never cover NMH. It's not you...just hard to get right...same with Leonard Cohen.

i disagree. i believe jeff had a message in aeroplane that he wanted to plant in the world and let it spread on it's own. he didn't want neutral milk to be some big band that everyone idolizes, that's why he stopped. if there is one song that i have no problem with everyone in the world singing in unison, it's this one. cover it every single time you get the chance.

If you have the distinct voice to pull it off then do it. He doesn't. Think he's amazingly talented, this is just one of my problems with choices of covers. This is how we get trash like ScarJo covering Tom Waits...just like this video...it will never work.

It doesn't work for YOU, because you're being pretentious and acting as though music is "right" when you sound exactly like the original. If a song is fun to play and sing when you perform it, you're doing it right.
