I remember my choir teacher handing this to me in class. I opened it up and we started singing, and I thought "Whoopee, another slow song to go with all the other slow songs." As we sang "Arise and seize the day" and the piano started going, I said "I could get used to this." When we started singing, I felt like I was on top of the world and nothing could stop me. This is the best song I have ever heard. CARPE DIEM!

It's nothing against your voices, but I dislike this arrangement. It's too slow and loses the beauty of the song with the chorale standing in conformity. I really don't like it with the female divisi either; that is not who was meant to sing this song.

Of course it's not going to sound like the movie, it's a choral arrangement in four parts instead of a musical theatre-style arrangement for soloist and guys-only chorus. It's not exactly a fair comparison.

The singing is lovely, but as TheLeo133 said, it seemed like the spirit of the song was missing. Got a bit better in that respect toward the end...

If everyone was terrified of being perceived as "narcissistic" just for having the audacity of poking their head out and sharing an attempt at something artistic, there would be no art. Criticize again when YOU have the cojones to subject yourself to this type of judgement, rather than to make jabs from the seedy shadows of Internet anonymity.
