Makes him about...I dunno...13, maybe 14, at the time of Halo: Combat Evolved. Also, later on, John meets up with other SPARTAN-II's that survived the glassing of Reach. If Jun WAS John, he wouldn't know the other SPARTANs. Not only does John know them, he can pick them out from the subtle things they do, like how they walk and whatnot. Jun =/= John.

@UnNormalMan ......................... master chief is 41 at the time of halo 1 and jun is 28-30 and the arbiter killed jun a week or 2 before master chief arrived at halo. and he didnt meet up with the survivors, the pillar of autumn was holding the last of the UNSC resistance on reach and the only spartans to get out was MC and Linda-58 who was KIA. master chief went straight to halo and also the surviving spartan-II's were on earth and went to onyx during the first invasion of earth.

He meets up with them AFTER the events of Halo: Combat Evolved. Also, Linda isn't dead, which you would also know if you read 'First Strike'. The surviving Spartan-II's were on Reach, inside ONI's CASTLE base with Dr. Halsey. As to how they get to Onyx...Well...I'll re-read the book and get back to you.

@uhbthnjhg Linda is not dead. She got hit by plasma, she got put in a cryo-pod, she got ejected. In the book 'First Strike', John finds a string of cryo-pods, one of which contains Linda. She then goes on to help out with sniping and shit, including quite possibly the most badass sniper shot ever, which is hanging upside down, leg wrapped around a wire, shooting a round at a boosting Banshee and making it ricochet around the cockpit, killing the pilot. Read the books.
