  • Very nice. Best I can do so far with my 91/30 is 520 yards open sights on a 12in metal plate. Want to try a longer target but the gun range I go to, max target is 520 yards lol.

  • really nice shooting man and great sound quality on that camera

  • the second clip is in rosamond isn't it!? bummer deal the owner of the property shut it down. i used to go there all the time. now i have to visit the 1000 yd range at Edwards AFB.

  • @nicholasskywalker Be happy you have a long range. Out by me (IL) I can't find anything over 300 yrds......it's pathetic.

  • I want to go shoot at this So. Calif. RANGE! what is the LINK & gps?

  • nice shooting. i see you're rocking a cabelas cap. i work in the gun vault at one of their locations and we've got like 90 of these things on sale for $99 bucks. thinking about picking one up.

  • It is freakin amazing seeing the vapor trails. Beautiful shootin' mag30th.

  • I love how you can see the flight

  • if u buy one of these bad johnies never pay over 125 and make sure the barrel has its rifling

  • at 1:52 you can see the vapor trail from the round! thats really hard to film on a regular camera, especially in the middle of the day in a dry climate!

  • @hillikt you can see its arc. dropping pretty good at that range.

  • @nobaddog1 it drops a lot more at 1000...about a 32 foot drop.

  • @Vanishing762x54 what the fuck are you talking about it's only 7

  • @MrDip02 7ft is too little at 1000yards...it drops more than that.

  • @Vanishing762x54 wait i read something wrong i never for some reason looked at the ballistics of a 7.62 so i quickly searched and saw 7 ft so i just jot that down

  • @MrDip02 ok. no problem them. :D

  • @MrDip02 ballistics of a cartridge is not fixed, it varys between rifles due to barrel length, action, cartridge selection, and your zero point.

  • @ELITEHAMSTER123 i was talking about a standard 147 gr FMJ surplus

  • ha ha mine won't hit the paper at 50 yds after it warms up. it holds about 5" groups when it's cold. not bad for one made in 1901.

  • Wow - can even see the bullet itself!

  • Where did you get the bolt handle, scope, and scope mount? I'm hoping i can get a similar setup.

  • @MichaelkSimmons go to jgsales and you can buy a mosin with the whole setup

  • @MichaelkSimmons Buds Gun Sop . com has them. Bob

  • Where in AZ is this?

  • try 460 with open sights! did it the other day with a stock mosin m 91/30!

  • 420!!

  • Hey ive never shot a rifle like this, how the kick?

  • @yNotSkate4ever its very hefty. Like shooting a 12ga.

  • @Sodiumreactor Ive never really shot a true rifle befor, just .22's. Think itll be too much? im 16 btw

  • @yNotSkate4ever nah. You can do it. Its just gonna kick more than your used to. Its a very fun rifle to shoot!

  • @Sodiumreactor not even close the mosin nagant has 20 pounds and the 12 gauge magnum slug or something has 40 or 50

  • @yNotSkate4ever 20 pounds so not really THAT much unless you're to stupid to know how to properly shoot in then the recoil is pretty high

  • @mag30th @helloworld1ish ok, based on experience, would you have wanted a tula receiver or the izhevsk??? I can get either because they are the same cost... I just don't know which one to get!!! Help!

  • @MarksmanLeBlanc I would get the Tula... I got rid of my Izzy, because the casting was not as finished as my Tula and this ones more accurate 1/4inch at a 100 yards.

  • @MarksmanLeBlanc yea get the tula, theyre better made

  • just got mine

  • i just got my m30 last week. check out my channel

    great vid bro!

  • That's pretty good...considering the Mosin's were designed to hit an enemy in the center mass at 300 yards when aimed at the belt buckle...I don't get how you could pull off 640 yards!

  • remarkable fire arm

  • At 1:06 were you tempted to draw a bead on the moving target in the sky? If it was a DEA plane I would have been tempted.

  • Its easyer with AC-130 :D

  • My question is can u buy this in stores and can it use newer 7.62x54R ammo?

  • @MetallicaPantera2010 i got mine at fleet farm for 100$ it is in a very good condition it is a 7.62x54R but when they ship them over seas the dip the gun in this gunk so it wont get dammaged by salt water so it will need to be cleaned. i hope that helped u.

  • military should make scopes like your camera

  • how did you mount your scope. someone told me it would cost a hunded bucks to have one mounted

  • Hacked! Aimbot!

  • is that an original sniper or a repro?

  • @mag30th What is your optics set up on the mosin?

  • what an awesome shot! i'm pickin one of these bad boy russian rifles up at the next gun show at valley forge pa

  • that was awesome. my local dealer is selling these as original for $99. i'm not ready to spend the money on one but i'll consider when i get the itch to pick up one of these old suckas.

  • @fwbrc51 i see then all the time for $80, just wasnt sure if they were any good.

  • nice zoom on that camera! what brand/model is it?

  • I love that you can see the shockwave

  • The arc is substantial. Reminds me of throwing a football

  • Good video brother. What make, model and magnification of your scope? Did you use a range finder? The wind was a facture I can tell. Good shooting.

  • cool....i'm jealous of you desert natives....640 yards!....around here the only way i could shoot 640 yards is straight up in the air!...lucky bastards!....lol

  • @dirtydogvideo god i know XD

  • that got a PU scope on it?

  • Was this a Finn?

  • Amazing, how u could actually see the spindrift through the camera lens.

    Nice

  • Great video

  • whats the kick like on these?

  • @CdogGHs if you get the carbine they kick like a mule and leave a black and blue mark on your shoulder for days. if you get the full sized one that weighs nearly 9lbs the kick is negligable. my buddies 95lbs daughter shot my nagant with out complaints

  • I absolutely love this gun, I also have mosin nagant made in 1936 with synthetic stock and Leupold VX-I 3-9x40 it´s very very accurate and pleasant to shoot. And video is very good also ;) That´s some nice shooting !

  • Can u hunt with a mosin nagant because I am going to buy one I just want to know

  • @SUPERSTACK112 it kills Germans, i don't see why not

  • @SUPERSTACK112 probably depends on the state

  • @SUPERSTACK112 yes as long as you use legal ammunition. (not surplus stuff)

  • I can't tell. Are you hitting behind the target (as in the round is penetrating it) or just in front of it. If so, draw up my friend!

  • good shootin', i'm looking to pick one of these up for myself very soon.

  • That vapour trail is tiiigghhhhtt!!!!

  • so i am sitting here with a very stubborn person watching this video and talking about the nagant i bought. he says its a stupid worthless piece of shit and its only made to shoot ppl coming out of trenches from under 100 yards away. anything over that and its a usless piece of shit. please comment or send me msgs on what you think about those comments so i may inform him of how retarded he really is. thanks

  • @skaterjrd99 He has a point. but in reality in WW 2 The most common guns were Bolt Actions and Sub machine guns until the STG44 came out but in reality most people chose the bolt action and it was used in close to long range fighting.

  • I don't know why, but this video spontaneously puts a big huge grin on my face.

  • @Spartan043 wife problems?

  • @Spartan043 It's the vapor trail, does it to me every time

  • When you bought the gun did it come with the scope?

  • I love how you can see the bullet trail at 1:52. Very cool. I guess it's the heat distorting the air around the bullet.

  • @terramar111 That's the sonic shockwave from the bullet traveling faster than sound.

  • Can you hunt with this?

  • @rvngizswt HELL YES anything

  • Fantastic video!

  • what is really cool is you can see the rise and drop of the bullet as well in the vapor trail. It could just be the angle, but I do know a bullet does rise and then drop again

  • @b0xcrash the bullet does rise but because the sight alignment places the barrel at a slightly upward tilt, then the bullet starts its arc, rises slightly above the muzzle, but never above the axis of the barrel, reaches a peak and starts to descend down due to the law of gravity

  • @rspaint94 right. I am probably wrong, but it looked like I could see rise then back to line of sight. Like using the 36/300 zero for irons on a M16A2.The bullet is fired from the barrel and rises up to be exactly on the line of sight at 36 yards. It then continues to rise, topping out at 6″-7″ depending on the round used and the barrel length of the rifle. It then descends until it is again exactly on the line of sight at 300 yards. Army uses improved battlesight zero with 50/225

  • damn nice shooting

  • I recently took up shootin and got a 91/30 like yourself and i struggle at 50yds. you are truly a ace shooter. Guess i better get back to the range and keep practicing.

  • what range are you at?

  • Congratulations from Brazil!

  • impressive camera, what is it?

  • Anyone know the magnification specs on the scope? Impressive shooting!

  • @brown55061 probably 4x. impressive shot for any rifle with a 4x scope, mark of a great shooter right there

  • We need more vids like these on Youtube. A vid that actually shows long range shooting. I'm getting sick of the "back yard" ones..

  • That is awsum. U can see the wake at 80 x from the bullet in the desert heat ! Good practical shooting there !

  • How much does the round drop at the range?

  • 1:14 mos beautiful noise ive ever heard from a gun

  • Is that a vapor trail or is it the sound/shock wave disturbance? I think its the latter.

  • gotta loe that sound of bullets hitting metal

  • shot a rifle like this and it hurts

  • @SSJ2Starscream

Bolt action rifles kick ass till now:) Mosin Nagant 800 meters kill zone Crazy

  • did you just bend the bolt handle yourself?

  • Damn!

Man, you would hit the animal/person if you were shooting wit it!

  • Damn fine shot! You would hardly be able to see the target at that range with 3.5x magnification.

  • Speed of sound vs speed of light. I think this rifle does a great job at hitting before sound comes to alert.

  • fun fact in wwII there were to people to every rifle so if yuri dies u pick up his gun,

and nice shooting and your mosin looked in good condition

  • Mag, what would you say is the top effective range in 7.63x39 even considering handloading?

  • @Buddymack917 im sure you mean 7.62x54r

  • @colbyVas No I actually did mean the AK round, I was just asking him because he is pretty knowledgeable about ammunition, but I guess I am off topic for the Mosin subject but at least I was commenting on another combloc round.

  • He needs steady aim.

  • watchin' the shock wave from the bullet is cool! P.S. good shootin'.

  • Ahh that's a great sound!

  • Jesus Christ... You're like Legolas only with a MN. Well shot!

  • Dang! You should join the next Top Shot series

  • @semiautoriflelover Of that I'm sure. The quality of the WWII optics was the best they could produce at the time. Now imagine close to 70 years of progress. Particularly in robotic/automated construction and CAD. The repeatable precision levels of today couldn't be imagined back then.

  • Neat to see the heat signature of the bullet! Reminds me of low-light handgun training.

  • 1:40 you can see bullet's path

  • @misteraxl1 its called the vapor trail just for future reference

  • Hey, you can see the path of the bullet and how much he has to lob it at 1:27. Great shooting, man, that is really good shooting.

  • in soviet russia this gun is made to shoot u not shoot it =]

  • STRONG SOVIET GUN MOSIN NAGANT THREE LINE RIFLE. IS NOT SELFLOADING ARM SISTEMA SO IS NO CARE GIVEN TO VENTILATION OF GAS OR SELF PROPELLED MOVEMENT OF BOLT EDIFICE. THE OPERATOR HE FALLS TRIGGER; THE HAMMER HE SHOVELS PRIMER HEAD. LARGE BATTLE CARTRIDGE EXPLODES AND FARTS BULLET TOWARD TARGET. IS EFFECTIVE DISTANCE OF UP TO ONE HUNDRED SCORES OF ARSHIN. THE CONSCRIPT HE TILTS BOLT HANDLE UPWARD, COCKING SISTEMA FOR NEXT SHOT.

  • @nofx1091 HAAHAHAHAHAHAAHA what tha fuck??

  • @ torturedxeno They had two different units of measure they used. If you have the flat rear sight and it goes to 20 it is in 100 meter increments.

  • I have a Mosin-Nagant. I just haven't fired it yet. Does anybody know what the numbers on the iron-sight signify?

  • @TorturedXeno Range settings. If it's set to 200, it means the gun is currently zeroed to shoot at 200 yards.

  • wtf is rong with the bolt...is that a kar98?

  • where do you shoot at?

haha please tell me your in so cal hahahaha

theres nowhere to shoot at long range here.

  • Wow.. In the second part of the video you can actually see the bullet rip through air...

  • I wanna buy one of these so bad. :3

  • nice shooting

  • what is a better rifle the mosin nagant or the kar 98k i'm deciding on which one to buy

  • @leadfarmer13 the awnser to the best one would depend on the person you would ask...ive looked and fallen in love with both and decided to buy them both.the mosins coming first though!then the kar and then the enfield!

  • @leadfarmer13 One thing the Mosin Nagants have going for them is raw affordability. You can get at least a couple 91/30s for the price of one Mauser. Practice accurizing one, make all your mistakes with it, and then do the work for real on the second. Also I *think* milsurp 7.65x54r ammo may be a bit more plentiful and slightly cheaper - not certain but it kinda seems that way.

  • very impressive

  • You are one hell of a marksman.

  • i love the vapour trails the bullet leaves

  • @Tmas1833 its called sonic boom.. its when an object beats the speed of sound.

  • @Tmas1833 What does vapor trail mean?

  • holy fucking crap!!!!!!!!!! even the miss is not that far off great shooting great gun.

  • I've got a M44 and its never let me down on a 300 yard shot. Problem is it keeps shattering scopes. The original PU scope just seems tougher than the new stuff.

  • 1:28 +, you can see the shockwaves!

  • when they say a m16 can hit targets 500 yards away, how do they even see what they're shooting at i mean the front sight is like 6 times bigger that the target? i could understand 100 yards easy, but like 400-500 you cant see shit. some one please tell me!

  • @1994JMF maybe if they have optics

  • Comment removed

  • Awesome Sharpshooting! Also, Great quality video! You can see the bullets displacing the heat waves! Nice Rifle! I also have a Russian Mosin-Nagant M91/30, and they are very accurate! Light ball rounds for the rifle have a muzzle velocity of ~1100 m/s (3609 ft/s)! That's a powerful cartridge--7.62x54R (.30 cal. Russian)! I love mine, there's just no place too use it much, but it's accurate! Mine is used (1936). $120, with sling, oil can, and ammo pouch, (5+ years ago). They're great rifles!

  • I love your videos, it's a true record of what can be done with even the cheapest rifle with some determination and discipline. I'm curious, have you ever tried this with Russian Surplus rounds? (like the original rounds issued to the soldiers)

  • kick ass video, more plz.

  • Man hes an absolute pro

  • wow that looks like such a fun place to shoot!

  • This guy needs more work, he needs to take a liitle more time to aim.

  • Hey that is A Place To Shoot isn't it! I recognize the hill and buffalo target :) I've only hit the 420yd one with my dad's rifle once (it is a 308 bolt action with a 2.5x scope mounted scout style)

  • I'm sure you've answered this already but there are just too many posts to search through, what is the scope that you're using? I'm sure I can't afford it but it never hurts to ask haha..

  • DANG! You can see the bullet cutting through the air and curving down at 1:41. Thats pretty awesome. Good shoot'n.

  • Dang!!nice!!! The sound is exactly like in call of duty world at war.

  • Good Shooting

  • @00142xasbadassas007 shit man , you're right , i was wrong . i would fix my text if i could.

  • Very nice, Makes me want mine even more now.

  • @hunter69denys if you clean out all the cosmoline from the breech and bolt the bolts are actually really smooth. Not as much as mausers but it is still pretty good.

  • Really good shooting!

  • is it true that the recoil of the gun can dislocate a shoulder?

  • @OMGiSeeAnuke i dont know but im 15 and i shot 5 rounds on the mosin and it wasnt bad at all, just a little sore

  • @yoonsuga same with me im 15 but my dad says he wont let me shoot it because of the recoil... i dont think he even fired it himself

  • @OMGiSeeAnuke lol the mosin was the loudest gun on the range we shot at and it kicks harder than any other gun i have fired my shoulder is still sore and now im developing a bruise haha

  • @yoonsuga

yea i only bring loud guns hehe

    308? hahaha pew pew

  • @OMGiSeeAnuke im 14 and shot 40 rounds through my dads today. All you gotta do is lean into it a little bit and have the gun tight against your shoulder and you are golden. A recoil pad wouldnt hurt either if you arent experienced with high powered rifles.

  • @OMGiSeeAnuke if the gun has enough recoil then yes

  • i can see the bullet trace! thats freakin awesome

  • fucking awesome you can see the bullet trail at 1:26 !!! that guy is an epic sniper lol

  • Nice shooting, Very impressive with an Old Rifle.

  • Very impressive shooting!

  • Very nice shooting! I have one of these on order...they are getting more scarce and expensive all the time. Give it 10 years and people will be paying $5k for them on Gunbroker.

I wish the cheap surplus ammo was capable of this kind of accuracy. I'd shoot nothing else!

  • Vassili Would Be Proud
