Woow! I have synesthesia too. I am 28 years old and until now I didn´t know :) The letters of alphabet as well as days of week and months are also asociated with colors in my head etc. and this is something I´ve been living with the whole life and never thought of it as of a neurologically based condition :) Thanks for informing me! He also said he actually tasted the colours and not the food and that his favourite combination of foods was chicken and ice-cream because together they created a calming blue colour! I read this book called A Mango-Shaped Space like six years ago, which is about a synesthetic teenaged girl, and I talked to him about it and he realized that he had something really special about him. You ought to read it! It's by Wendy Mass. :)

I'm nineteen, and my dad died last month in an accident. I would really appreciate a video on how you coped with that loss (I completely understand if you're not comfortable with that--I can't talk about my dad yet. It's still too painful) but I think it would help a lot of people that are trying to figure out how to navigate a lifetime without their father (or mother).
There's a (fictional) book on synesthesia called 'Mondays Are Red' which is pretty good, I did an exam essay on it, but it's pretty scary, because the boy in it has got a really strong case of it, so bad he doesn't know the difference between what's going on in his head or outside his head.
I think Of people with each colour I can think of and when I see u I think of the colour turquoise and just like if I think of everything everything has it's own colour
"neurological condition" sounds like a bad thing but that is just a way that many people think, to varying degrees, I actually think almost identically to that in the way that you describe how you think about numbers and months etc. Stephen fry talks about this in an episode of QI

I have synesthesia too! To me, numbers have personalities... So anything with a 2 is really honest, anything with a 4 is a liar, anything with a 0 is innocent... and so on :)
i have a feeling that everyone (or at least most people) have at least MILD synesthesia. i know i have it pretty badly. i do the whole gender thing with my numbers, letters, months, weekdays, holidays, etc. :P
10 is my favorite number too! It's my favorite because my birthday is 10/10/89. So when I turned 10, it was like a triple golden birthday or something because I was 10 on the 10th day of the 10th month. It was awesome, haha.

I'm nineteen, and my dad died last month in an accident. I would really appreciate a video on how you coped with that loss (I completely understand if you're not comfortable with that--I can't talk about my dad yet. It's still too painful) but I think it would help a lot of people that are trying to figure out how to navigate a lifetime without their father (or mother).

There's a (fictional) book on synesthesia called 'Mondays Are Red' which is pretty good, I did an exam essay on it, but it's pretty scary, because the boy in it has got a really strong case of it, so bad he doesn't know the difference between what's going on in his head or outside his head.

"neurological condition" sounds like a bad thing but that is just a way that many people think, to varying degrees, I actually think almost identically to that in the way that you describe how you think about numbers and months etc. Stephen fry talks about this in an episode of QI

Ingrid I don't know if you will ever read this, but if you want to read a young adult/children's book on synesthesia, you should read A Mango Shaped Space, it's a really good book and it's about synesthesia

I have it! Ohmygosh! I actually visualize numbers as boys or girl, but I do see letters in colors, and I see the months verticly (probably because I saw it in a chart like that in Kindergarden, but I don't see the pictures...)

THAT IS SO WEIRD. I visualize numbers as good or bad, and i see months in a loop, and each month has a color! OMG. I THOUGHT EVERYONE WAS LIKE THAT. Does this mean I have Synesthesia? I also like visualize people as left and right from like "the center" or me i guess. This is soooo weird ahhhh.

In my mind ten is purple or black. I have severe synesthesia which is sometimes annoying but I love comparing my colors and stuff to other peoples

I have synesthesia too! To me, numbers have personalities... So anything with a 2 is really honest, anything with a 4 is a liar, anything with a 0 is innocent... and so on :)

10 is my favorite number too! It's my favorite because my birthday is 10/10/89. So when I turned 10, it was like a triple golden birthday or something because I was 10 on the 10th day of the 10th month. It was awesome, haha.

I think of 5 as a F and I think of 1 as red and 2 as blue and then when I think of months I always see them as a loop and then when I think of weekdays I think of numbers like Monday being one Tuesday being two Wednesday being 3 and so on....Do you think I have whatever that thing is I can't spell haha :)
