I am Buddhist, not b/c I was born to a Buddhist family but because I believe the Dhamma. Having clarified that, I too support a modification of Buddhist priesthood. I think a child who is interested to become a monk, should be kept as a student of Dhamma with regular Dhamma lessons in the temple without admitting to the priesthood until the age of 18. Only a grown man can make a well thought out decision not a child. This song is truly a profound song, too bad we don't have such talent now days.

I was raised catholic,but i respect Buddhism , I am a Buddhist at heart, I am culturally a hybrid, I follow and appreciate Budhadharma . I am against

child abuse.We should petition the Maha Sanga to out law this inhuman practice.

Every time I listen to this song my heart weeps.

The pitiful plight of these little boys should be addressed. Just like muslims force their women to wear those oppressive garbs. Catholics laughing at those who leave their robes. We should evolve.

personally i dont iike small kids being monks.they must decide that when they get 16-18 years old! they can leran the religion but not at once being a monk with 12 years!

@ranitalia2 I agree very much. I used to imagine how it would be like to become a monk when you are 9 or 10 years old - a feeling i could not bear to think about ! The increasing number of monks leaving the monkhood is evidence of this

Listen you whore!... when the parents realize that the son is more in to religion from small days they send him to the monastery and also they take the sons concern and going to the monastery is the best thing in life i would say looking the current condition of the world!... meditate and think of life in buddas way!.... huh don't say that here after !... Buddha's son became a monk when he was 9 years old!.... if u dont like it u can go back to a normal life. nothing wrong in it.
