yes, she shouldn't be ashamed of her past, but I don't think anyone should compare themselves to who they used to be. To say she looked better then is making it sound like she should be ashamed of who she is now. I think what's important is that people embrace who they are right now. I think Madonna does do that in a way, but she still has to work at it like every human being, you know? I think if people did that more they wouldn't be ashamed of their pasts.

After "regretting" in the ROL period her "material girl" song and image, she said in a fairly recent interview that she had no regrets and was even proud of her past as everything in it led to where she is now.
