Paul Groves's voice is astounding. What an instrument. Rich and well-balanced, clear diction and big power when needed but never bellowing. Just an extraordinarily handsome voice.

Many similarities between "Make Our Garden Grow" and "Make of our Hands" from West Side Story.

Not surprising really as they were conceived at close proximity of each other.

And both are gorgeous.

@maxreger100 Both are, indeed. But the difference is in the stories: "Make of Our Hands" is a sincere pledge by  young lovers, before their tragedy. This is a bit older and wiser, sung by characters after they have been through much folly (their own and others') and hardship. It's got more hope than resignation, but mostly hard-earned realism. I used to think it anticlimactic and sad; now I see its truth and beauty.

The song itself is so exquisite--especially the a cappella section. I get chills pretty much anytime I hear it sung decently, but this version is one of my favorites. And I swear I can almost see the performers being in awe of the song even as they sing it--watch them at 1:10 just before Kristin begins her verse.
