great song, love it. it has a flavor of Russian folk music, it always reminds me of "polyushka polye". Homer dizey and Qadir dilan are the greatest kurdish singers if you ask me. they created a new kind of kurdish music that had universal characteristics, anyone in the world can listen to their music and enjoy it no matter what cultural background they have. of course it helped that they are the only two i know whom absorbed the global 60's, 70's musics soul and reflected it on kurdish music.
@maximilianos666 Totaly agree with you, I wish though they could produce some more hits, or just re-sing some more kurdish folklore songs in this new style they brought into kurdish music, just like Bob Dylan have done with Us-Indian music.
@Smmko that would have been great but unfortunately its an era of ignorance and stupidity for kurds right now, although most people think its the opposite and think that we are progressing because kurds have bigger buildings, mobile phones and girls like dashne but the sad reality is we are so f*d, that just because a song sounds like a new turkish or arabic song people love it. just listen to the lyrics they have, its gibberish and people love it. its sad, but obviously thats what we became
It seems like this song is a must learning. This was my very first song that i played on the piano when I was around 5-6 too. Still, 20 years after, i still love it and I still play it:-)
@Bahariyah well said, i think its the simplicity and the peacefulness that make this song very extraordinary, besides the wonderful and lovable lyrics :)
@Bahariyah...Smmko; Im not a musican, and actually I dont know notes...I just learned it by listening to this song constantly and then I try on the piano as a child.. sorry
i remember learning how to play a part of this song on a piano when I was around 6. After that we left iraq, I forgot who taught me and what song it was. Fourteen years later, I would still play a small part of it on piano or keyboard but didnt know how I learned it. I never knew what song it was until I stumbled upon it today and I listened to it crying.
