The funny thing is many Chinese people don't like this movie. The foreigners seem to like it way more. I am Taiwanese and I really enjoy this movie. I don't know my fellow Taiwanese friends find it "too boring".

Part of the appeal to us Americans is just that we don't see a lot of jidai geki type films. Non-Western Civ historical settings. And, true, the action choreography is vastly different. More vivid, more intense. If you find a movie that's not all wires and impossible flips.

Dragon stands for yang which represents ones true mind, one based on heart & not thinking with the mind :/ but it is very hard to see this true self & in order to free ones self and achieve Tao or complete freedom one must give up dignity and their face.... This movie is alot more intricate than i thought and it will probably take me a while to truly understand it
