  • Será por siempre una de mis películas preferidas!!!!;)..LEVANTA ÁNIMO!!!;)

  • The funny thing is many Chinese people don't like this movie. The foreigners seem to like it way more. I am Taiwanese and I really enjoy this movie. I don't know my fellow Taiwanese friends find it "too boring".

  • @jibikao well i'm Chinese and I think it's an okay movie. It's good but to be honest there's too many Chinese movies that are like this one. Foreigners probably like it because it has flashy ninja action scenes and other martial arts scenes which appeal to them

  • @Chessmapling I'm all for a good fight scene, but too much physics defying acrobatics and obvious wire-work takes me straight out of it.

Part of the appeal to us Americans is just that we don't see a lot of jidai geki type films. Non-Western Civ historical settings. And, true, the action choreography is vastly different. More vivid, more intense. If you find a movie that's not all wires and impossible flips.

  • great soundtrack , but ... Gladiator is way better then this and deserved academy award ... pitty

  • i love this movie its sad but really good :D

  • I can't watch this film anymore, the ending send me into deep depression, even the music alone tears me up

  • @Omer698 Remember in the film, she was told that they who jump off the cliff, fly off and their wishes come true. Don't be depressed, she would have wished to be back in the desert with her lover, she would have got her wish.

  • i love this movie but i have the subtitle one

  • @dcfefs very good on how you explain the meaning of the movie

  • ko sa asi !

  • СУПЕР!

  • @NiceMause super super!!!

  • LOL tell me if anyone gets it.. CROUCHING TIGER HIDDEN DRAGON..

  • @sheynoo bahahhahahhaahhahahahaaha

  • @sheynoo i think its something chinese......chinese phrases are so deep!!!

  • @sheynoo "crouching tiger , hidden dragon" aka "臥虎藏龍" means that a person who has a great talent(s), but he does not use the talents unless its necessary, the person is modest and humble to keep the talent to himself, not for showing off because he does not desire other people's praises. like a great dragon hidden from the world, a tiger crouching, not showing itself.. basically its a phrase to describe a humble man with talents... hope it helps

  • @dcfefs i wish english had that kind of poetic beauty & clarity

  • Comment removed

  • @russkizfb it does....>.> you obviosuly have no idea where to look xD

  • @russkizfb

lol english's version of this would be opera.

but ofcause, the effect of which would be nowhere close

  • @russkizfb You don't need the language to be poetic, beautiful and clairful, Its you whi must speak the truth and with love.

  • @russkizfb It did before Rosanne TV show came out.

  • @russkizfb sorry but thats just how the chinese were. sages of the past, heroes of legendary times.

  • @russkizfb It has - or is at least capable of - a different kind of poetic beauty and clarity

  • @dcfefs ...or woman, in the case of this film. I always thought it was referring directly to Zhang Ziyi's character -- namely, the potential that she had and the desire to fulfill it despite being stifled by the role designated to her by the aristocracy.

  • @dcfefs

This meaning is not obvious to anyone except those who own the language.

    Thanks for this invaluable input.

I know this "title" with a new meaning now.

  • @dcfefs Since u didn't mention what Hidden Dragon to much, I'll try to explain what I got out of an article explaining the movie. Dragon stands for yang which represents ones true mind, one based on heart & not thinking with the mind :/ but it is very hard to see this true self & in order to free ones self and achieve Tao or complete freedom one must give up dignity and their face.... This movie is alot more intricate than i thought and it will probably take me a while to truly understand it

  • @dcfefs it applies to all of us. when we lower our talents and gifts, and then "attack" when people least expects it. :D

  • @dcfefs a humble man and women with talents

  • @dcfefs Yeah, expect for the fact that the movie itself explains the title by saying it represents strong desires and emotions, which will cause a great turmoil if hidden by the person experiencing them.

This is why the guy can't let go of this world; he can't let go of his emotions 'cause he kept hiding them, which causes him not to experience the true sense of peace and rest.

  • @darkaquatus Damn you lol...stop talking about what I do lol.

  • @darkaquatus that's so beautiful thank you. He thought he was going towards enlightenment by denying his emotions because they are illusions. But I guess that before one can transcend emotions one must face them so that they may be released instead of repression and denial.

  • @dcfefs That was a very useful para. Thanks a lot

  • @dcfefs thanks.

  • @dcfefs thanks :P

  • @dcfefs I think my brother suits that title very well... I will try to be more like him, and that was very well said :]

  • @dcfefs

It did, thanks. Now I have more appreciation for the term ;D

  • thank you very much so

  • @dcfefs according to ang lee "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" is a common expression which refers to the mysteries that lie below the surface of society and our everyday lives. The expression is a reminder never to underestimate our own dragons and tigers - they can spring out at any time. it supposed to be comprised of 2 story the tiger society the dragon a world of individual's and there relationships

You remind mind me of crouching youtuber hidden stupidity

  • @emailme23 You obviously dont realize it, but i just wanted to tell you that are a HUGE idiot! Chinese expressions can have many meanings, and the meaning that "dcfefs" gave coincides with the ideal characteristics of a daoist kungfu priest and makes sense.Your expression has nothing to do with the film or Daoism or kungfu. You tried to sound smart while insulting someone, but in one comment you brought yourself down to the level of a worm wiggling around in diarrhea.

  • He gave the exact meaning of it he didn't say it had multiple meaning he said it had a meaning so why don't you shut up the title definition came from the man he made the title him self who made the movie not from me it was quoted you lack brain's my expression it wasn't my expression it was the creator's expression.

seems you like to learn to bad you never learned how to read. You try to come off smart when your stupid learn your own culture and mind your business.

  • @emailme23 Trust me your an idiot.

  • @oscie1 no your and idiot like i said your in the wrong the description didn't come from me you couldn't comprehend the comment so now you finally resort to insult instead of admitting your wrong your not even Asian your the idiot and heathen who is a dog in the eye's of god.

  • @oscie1 Your moron he is Thai not chinese the maker of the film is Thai asshole

  • @emailme23 I wasnt talking about the maker of the film. You are forbidden to continue making comments inferior being

  • @oscie1 You where referring to the title of the the film and then i quote Chinese expression can have many meaning the man is thai the title is not a Chinese expression im not and inferior being you dog

  • I surprise you even viewing this channel since your last comment was woman are all dog's and that black's are all nigger's yeah i searched comment to see if you where those internet asshole's and you are considering kisskara has martin Luther king quote on her page and she a woman im surprised you would watch this so you say woman are dog's huh so I guess your mother was a dog

  • @emailme23 Silence SLAVE

  • @oscie1 respond slave my loyal servant reply to my comment

  • @emailme23 you are right, the expession does have multiple meanings and one youtube bar isnt enough to explain everything about the phrase. and the director's comment is also correct, however i only define the phrase direct meaning. and this phrase can be used in various of situations. so please dont fight over a phrase which supposed to embrace the humbleness. as to i remind u of youtuber's stupidity, well.. all i can say is that is only the meainging of the phrase, i didnt make the phrase, thx

  • @dcfefs that may be me

  • @sheynoo don't get it, sorry.

  • Love it

  • The cello is the only instrument that can weep....This was the first Chinese movie I absolutely loved watching... The move was absoluely a masterpeice and Zhang Ziyi is a beautiful personified

  • @weepingboy3

Ever heard the oboe or cor anglais mate?

Pretty sure they can weep too :P

But yeah totally agree with masterpeice thing :3

  • Whoever disliked this song:

    1) Has no ability to connect with music

    2) Has issues they need to sort out

    3) Was so shocked that they missed the 'Like' button.

  • chinese Kungfu entertainment forever in Thailand., and i' m thai. Tony jaa is thai from cambodian ethic family and loves bruce lee, jackie chan and practiced kungfu from chinese films like other thai kids of 6 years. Tony Jaa's clever enough to mix chinese kungfu with Thai muay boran (ancient thai boxing)

  • @tukkatathai he also uses a little jeet kune do also

  • robotruss sez this is nice

  • Tan Dun è un Ennio Morricone pero cinese

  • @AD49938 I dont know your language but im guessing you are saying Tan Dun is the chinese version of Ennio Morricone. =D Thumbs up =P If i'm right that is =D

  • Ok I gave her a thumbs up, she is beautiful but I think the late Teresa Teng is more so. Check her out at about 1:00 in the song Ai wa Suna no Youri on the masami 43A channel, you'll be kissing your monitor. Btw, I recently discovered TT her voice is unlike any other supremely sweet and lovely...the greatest Asian singer of all time and likely the whole world. Ck out Feelings on the cat001001 channel...wow!

  • ALLE FINE DEL FILM li MU BAI ( SCRITTO DA TRUZZO ) MUORE AHAHAH

  • @SuperXoxo4u In daily life Im just a general humanm, Im not a perfect human being... but everytime i listen to this some things in my soul fall together making me feel better. Even when The worst feelings like jealousy are taking over this song gives me back control of my feelings. I meditate to this.

  • a nico le gusta bien muxo esta song

  • Michelle Yeoh is an amazing actor. And she kicks major ass too.

  • she is soooo pretty! love this beautiful music :)

  • What is the name of the song that starts at 3:27? I MUST KNOW >l

  • "One who has patience can man seek lessons"

  • What I love about Zhang Ziyi is how she is so breathtakingly beautiful with no makeup on. Not like Hollywood actresses with 5 inches of paint on their face=p

  • @eurasiangoddess101 she have make up on the face, light make up!!!everybody in the movie hace make up!!!good luck!

  • @cachicoya @cachicoya I guess there's a bit of make up, but it's really hardly any. Most Hollywood actresses you can see obvious makeup, but for Zhang Zi Yi I notice in a lot of movies you can't even see any. 'Cause she has almost perfect features she really doesnt need any :)

  • GREAT MOVIE! But Li Mu Bai should not have died! ='(

  • nice videos. Lets increase awareness of Chinese music!

  • you wish you did, but the truth is, that you are just a sad, probably incredibly ugly little man... disgusting!

  • @dominizcque , on the contrary, I am a young, tall, handsome, atheletic, well to do and highly educated guy. Sorry, your assumption is wrong.

  • "Without Green Destiny, you are nothing!"
