My friend raced my mk3 jetta vr6 and ran a 15.5 93mph. But my I say I have a broken trany mount and he did not lunch off the line or did a burn out because he said he did nit want to rape my car. So no burn out and no lunch off the line. And a broken mount. So I say not bad right????

An easy tip to get your A2 VR in the 13's.....tee hee! I deleted of course a lot of things like power steering, a/c, and egr to name a few, but wow do you notice the differance. I also have 195/50-15 profile tires to rap out the rpms a little quicker. I don't even have cams or a chip....the only mod I'm running is an ECSTuning light weight crank pulley....That's It! well, and of course 2.5 in. piping, no cat and magnaflow muffler. But keep up the VR love!

I ran a 15.07 in a MK4 24v with only a 2.5" catback and K&N filter. Had rear seats and spare out... Is that track up hill?

@ dds4042, Thats all i did, stock exhaust, still has the resonator and cat, but i ripped off the muffler and replaced it with a straight peice of pipe. About 2 1/2 feet to make it to the back of the car

Aren't the MK2's lighter than the MK3? I ran low 15's in my stock MK3 VR6 with only intake and exhaust, and my reaction times aren't very good!

@aaron71 Tracks make a huge difference. My 99 Passat would run 14.1's at the California raceway in Fontana. But at the Palmdale raceway I could not break the 15 mark.

Good luck braking, I just can't get the hang of sitting that close in a mk4 because the brake pedal is so high from the accelerator.

i got a 1987 volkswagen gti 16V DOHC and im trying to sell it but how much can it go forr..i know alot of people want on and are hard to find...and if i put a vr6 in it will the a/c work on it ?

VR6's dont really make good power if you are staying all motor. The best for VR's is going turbo. You can do the little bolt on's exhaust, intake, and maybe cams, but the best improvement would be a decent turbo kit or a blower.

Toyo T1R's i believe they are summer performance tires.

try setting your launch at around 2500 and see how that works, you should be doing mid 14's

I had a passat tranny as well with the long 3rd gear. And your car should do something around a mid to low 14, its either that track is shitty, or you just need more practice. What are you launching at? Try holding it around 2500 and dragging the clutch out a little bit, dont burn it up, and dont pop it. also dont just slam the gas right away, wait for it to stop spinning at that same ammount of throttle and then slam it. What tires do you have?

i was luanching at nothing just slowly going out with it then powershifting u no... my mph was 88 its just the time was lowzy losing to much time at the begining u no....i have Bf GoodRich G-force supper Sport ..this friday im going again aiming fora a better time im going to gut my car and make a custom ram air intake lol and see how it works out

Hello
