Your anxiety is your senses telling you that something's wrong. Something is wrong, society is sick. The sovereignty of the individual is only recognized by a few, most people engage in group think bullying. Therefore it's natural to be afraid of them.
You have no idea what SAD, GAD Agoraphobia is. I see 'these' videos of young white trash boo whooing about how hard life is. The fact that you can record you're "experience" exemplifies how minor your anxiety is. Try abusing your xanax 2mg bars for years. 12+ a day. I have shut off every avenue of contact to a few family members. Don't use a phone or 'friend collector' er facebook. My situation is the ultimate BOY WHO CRIED WOLF . I'm never looked at by the medical profession objectively
(contiuned) so by ppl telling me to be more socialable is basically telling me to be something im not. dont get me wrong i do not want o be shy at all!!! it sucks REALLY bad!! but i literalty CANT change! the weird thing is that i can talk to a camera AND sing in front of a camera and post vids on youtube with out being shy. so how do i replace a camera with an actual person??? anyone? this fuckin sucks. i really hope to god im not like this my whole life!!!! :(((
@GarrettSIAm1 Yeah I can perform in from of crowds no problem i used to be in a band and shit but its just something about social situations and its just so overwhelming to look at someone while there talking to me so much that I'm not even concentrating on what there saying sometimes
Wow it must have been tough having SA at 13 :L it hit me like a ton of bricks when i was almost 16 and im 17 now and I only found out what exactly I had 2 days ago. Does anyone else still try hide that they have SA and just stay quiet the whole time ?
@insanebuzzie I've been shy pretty much my whole life! is being shy and SA the same thing? if so then i defantly have that. but anyways yea i always try to hide it and stay quiet all the time, but when u stay quiet all the time ppl ask "why are you soo quiet" as if its your choice. i HATE when ppl ask me those questions it just makes me hate myself! I was always taught to always be yourself and me being quiet is the way i truly am.
i gotten used to it....i stay up at night and sleep during the day....problem solved..and ill have whiskey when i have to interact with more than 1 person at a time...
I just get really agitated having to be around people, its torture... i prefer minimal contact per day....no more than 3-4 hours
I cured myself by learning EFFECTIVE LISTENING SKILLS. My anxiety was caused by lack of social skills. I didn't know how to listen therefore I never knew what to say. Now I always know what to say because I listen first. Sometimes I don't even have to talk - just listening is enough. IF YOU LISTEN, PEOPLE WILL LIKE YOU!!!
I like what you said about conversations having to be a task for people with social anxiety. That's very true for me. It's like I have to put effort just to be able to talk to someone.
Everything you say here applies to me as well. It just makes life so hard. The main problem I have is that I shake when I'm nervous and it's so embarrassing that there's a lot of situations I have to avoid. The main emotion of my anxiety is shame, like I feel bad letting people see me at my most humiliating moment. No matter how much I tell myself nothing really matters the anxiety never goes away! Thank you for this video :)
look dont worry about being avaluated its what people do all the time some times negative some times posotive and dont be so personal if you now what i mean dot take shit to hart and dont worry about people staring people do that all the time in the streets in cars eny ware realy dont get paranioad dont strees out it got some thing simalar to you so dont worry about it its just confidence build your self astem hope this helps
Fabulous video. I feel just like you do, but I'm not officially diagnosed with social anxiety. Wonderful job making this. You've given me some hope. Thanks.
You described it very well, I suppose it makes it easier to bear -- though not necessarily during an attack -- to know that there are a lot of others with the same problem. Know exactly what you mean when you say when talking to someone it's not like a conversation but more like a test. Good luck and thanks for posting! :)
I don't got social anxiety. But I don't talk because I don't got anything good to talk about. Illegal things aren't exactly good things to have conversations with random people about... Also I used to hate almost everyone for no reason. Just saw people and decided I hated their guts. But now I don't. I just get mad sometimes...
me too it started when i was 12. i had a crush on a girl and i was hiding in the bushes haha.... like a chicken shit haha... what kind a man hides in the bushes when he likes a girl i should been shot.
You've described what SA people go thru down to a tee.
The root cause of the problem is the negative belief that we are not OK the way we are. Once we remove this belief and see thru the illusion we are free.
hey, I love your video and yes you look so in control. I would never think that you have social anxiety. I am the same way. I am not really shy, but I have SAD. and back in HSchool I was very popular and at one point of my life I was an amateur boxer. I do not what happened to my confidence but now I am trap on SAD eventhough I am doing much better now that I have learned how to overcome it.
@Ostnizdasht206 I'm sure that if we dug deeper that we would find out that she has plenty of friends and a nice social life. Social anxiety is the new depression. If you feel a little sad then you're depressed. If you feel a little shy then you have social anxiety.
@jaberwocky6669 You really don't know what social anxiety entails, do you? It doesn't matter how rich, goodlooking, or outgoing a person may be, social anxiety is a psychological disorder that causes the brain to think a certain way. Shyness just causes you to be a little quiet, but social anxiety gives you such great distress that you will go to great lengths to avoid people altogether, or at least over-prepare yourself.
@jaberwocky6669 *Continued* I will ususally dwell for days about a planned get-together with people, and back out on the day of because the knot in my stomach gets so tight, and the thought of just staying home and avoiding the situation provides TREMENDOUS relief. In fact, the only time a person with social anxiety ever gets to relax, is when they back out of something social causing distress, but this has long-term negative effects.
@Ostnizdasht206 Being shy has nothing to do with the way you look! its just the way you are! trust me, i am very shy in person but i dont think im ugly or anything, its just the way i am.
Yeah, i always wonder what i have done to get SA, like i did something bad, and exactly im not shy, but i have SA, when people actually get to know me, im pretty cool..i think lol
I'm an HSP an dreally do think that there is a link between people who are highly sensitive and people who develop social anxiety disorder or other anxiety problems . I ahve read quite alot about being an HSP(highly sensitive people). Are there others that are similar ??
OH MY GOD!!! You hit the nail on the head. The part you mentioned about not being a shy person, yet having social anxiety. I'm EXACTLY the same as you. People would probably observe me to be the opposite of shy, yet I have EXTREME issues with social anxiety. It's such a strange paradox.
woah I feel the same, to me a conversation is also really often like a test. but the funny thing is that people with SAD worry so much about themselves but in fact there are all so good people, I mean look at all those youtube-vids, is there anyone with SA that is not totally okay?
Not sure if you're in college but I had a friend that was really quiet (like me) and when she went to college, she joined a sorority and her personality and self-confidence blossomed there. If you can get a close-knit group of friends, I think it'll help your SA a lot.
I Struggle with same SA and like to share some methods I do.
1. I Noticed pattern of my thoughts and found I am criticizing me heavily for my "social mistakes". I am too much harsh on me. But for others mistakes, I easily forgive them!.
2. The more I control my anxiety, the more it comes. Looks like I cannot control that part! and decided, lets talk to people "with anxiety".
Thanks for the nice comments everyone! Glad we can all relate to each other. I'm sure that we can overcome this together. I look forward to watching more of your videos. Feel free to message me if you ever need someone to talk to. :)
Well done for doing this video, i can totally relate to your feelings, thoughts and experiences. I hope you make changes and improve your life...you are not alone there are millions of us around the world.
I think I have it too but I force myself too do thing! I don't wanna be that fucking pussy I need to make friends I need to talk!!! If it's going bad I can cry and i'm a 16 year old boy imagine that! Then I can kick myself sooo hard and hope I die!!!
great video! you seem like wonderfull person, maybe your an HSP ( highly senitive person ) research that! I know what your talking about! I have the same problem but I'm researching HSP could be a link!
Thanks for the comments and advice :). I do find it less stressful to be around non-judgemental people but sometimes you don't have a choice-esp at work or in class. This is definitely a crisis that I hope I can overcome soon.
I understand completely what you are saying about not being able to relax. It's hard and I wish I had an answer on how to overcome it. I feel trapped like you and always feel like it's a chore and I have to put on an act to be social. I think it is less stressful if you can be around people who are genuine and and non judgmental, which may be hard to find. Hope to see more videos from you!
I had SAD for more than 10 years and I understand you pretty well. I think that SAD is a very big crisis in our life and as with every crisis it has a beginning but also an end. When big crisis have no end then they control our lives and give us a lot of suffering. SAD is not jus a big crisis but also a big opportunity to change the way we think, the way we feel and the way we bahave. SAD has been to me irronicaly perhaps the only way to transform my self into the better person I am now.
Your anxiety is your senses telling you that something's wrong. Something is wrong, society is sick. The sovereignty of the individual is only recognized by a few, most people engage in group think bullying. Therefore it's natural to be afraid of them.
