this game isnt a game it is a movie cause you create it not the game other games ( canter, call of dute etc ) have one goal and this has like 4 endings and 2 ways to play!
I know it has to be redone. So what's the value of your comment here if I mentioned it already one year ago . And as I said earlier my english is still a disaster . So thank you very much .
Wow, glad to see so many big fans of this game. I was on youtube a couple years ago talking a lot about this game and thought I was one of the few who recognized how awesome it was compared to a lot of contemporary games. glad to see I was wrong on that. this game was truly amazing and remains one of my top favorites of all time
I don't have the time to rebuild my homepage because i have a study. So send me your savegames for the moment I do have time.Or maybe someone who can help me adapt my homepage to a better version.
If everyone should send me save games of EOB 1,2 & 3 and The lands of lore series it could be a database for other people. But I see only people leech everything from my homepage and are to lazy to send a save game or write in my guestbook!!!!
WOW, I never knew even single-player PC games could be such a nice bonding experience. Did you cry from the beauty at the dragon-flight to the Southern Continent too?
In my view had this series continued we would have had an American RPG universe rich enough to rival the Final Fantasy games. If only the right people back then could have known what they were throwing away . . .
Yeah really; screw EA for buying out Westwood and dissolving their legacy just so they could whore out the rights to Command & Conquer.
But who knows, maybe EA may one day see potential in the Lands of Lore universe and decide to revive it. No doubt they'd ruin the spirit of the franchise though; there is no way EA in their current state of blandness could come close to matching the artistic style and creativity of these games.
It's still the most beautiful scene in this game... it's gives me every time the shivers in a positive way.... and second the movie with the dracoid king....
My favourite game so far. No other game has actually managed to feel so rewarding as GoD. It is so immensely hard to complete it.
I started playing this when I was 11 and finished the game last year at the age of 19. I enjoyed this game so freaking much. Thanks a million for putting this on YouTube!
Awe-inspiring video. If you ever made it this far into GoD you knew you were a pro. I can't think of a game more rewarding than GoD, it also has the greatest soundtrack of all time. I could listen to the City of the Ancient music forever.
You just set to run the program as win 95, the installing program will be terminated, but will create a file. Just simply move everything into the folder, and run "LOLG95" to play.
Amen, this movie is why I will replay this game again and again. When I first bought this game I played it just for this scene, but it is not until the internet era (and with the help of internet walkthrough) that I have finally conquered it.
You get out of there by putting the crystal crates next to the windows and using a spark spell on them to make them explode and blow open the windows. Either find the open window, or blow open enough windows to let enough sunlight in to destroy the boss.
Geez. I can't believe I didn't figure that out. That ALWAYS bothered me; even after I finished the whole game, it still bugged me that I could not figure out those 'dark halls'. I remember there was some kick-ass weapon in there too!
The ingame "hint" tells you to blast your way out, did you know? The game gives you an opportunity to learn how that's possible when you find the first prism scroll in the dark halls.
And in my view, it was one of the best haunted levels I've ever played.
Yeah, the voices that would talk at you. Even how you find Rix in there and he's going all crazy.
Or toward the main room when the dark blue orb raises out from the middle of the ground. The weapon however, wasn't that great. But there was a nice speaking stone there.
It was, beyond a doubt, the scariest game I've ever played. The caves and the monestary were brilliant. Especially when I was 11-12 years old, I completely freaked out in these zones. Sniff... awesome. :')
As a game developer in training, I can only hope to ever accomplish something close to being so awesome as LoL 2.
If I could find Rick Gush and enough money I would certainly bring out Lands of Lore 4. Did you break into the Dark Halls in the Monastery? Now that's a really scary place.
Actually, the game had a hint to get you out of that level. In the room with the ghost-generating orb, you have to drag the explosive crates near the windows, open them, and then spark them to blow holes in the window.
Either blow open enough windows to destroy the boss, or find the open window and jump out. I still have the strategy guide for this game!
What naieve.Wake up.I told you earlier Money and Rick Gush are NOT the issue here.
And Rick Parks is dead!!! There will be no more Lands of Lores like this one..you can see the difference in LOL2 and LOL3.
And btw. I liked the halls.... just keep on running....but my real favorite are the Dracoid Ruins because that is so huge and the annoying lizzards.Anyone got out of the pit when they captured you??
The issue is EA's stranglehold on the license, right?
You have to kill the executioner in the pit (Longbow Shift is great here), and then find the door stuck in a slot in the side of a wall before the water kills you. Drag it out and put it next to the spectator's stands so you float on up to safety.
I loved how there was a baby Ssar (the name for the lizards) crying with its parents trying to console it in the arena! LONG LIVE WESTWOOD!
Hm... Westwood did not realise who they were dealing with or they just didn't care.Westwood could have known that EA buyed them out of the market. But what is done is done and there is no turning back.Westwood is dead. And also the most talented man who visualised it.
I never managed it to get on time on the door and if I managed I drowned...water? I thought it was lava... and I never saw a baby Ssar with parents....
You are talking about the first time you die in the Dracoid Ruins level, right? The time when you get thrown into an arena with a nasty blue spider (the Executioner)?
Nevertheless, I would like to speak with Rick Gush, Frank Klepacki, and maybe even Louis Castle at least once. And why not a remake of LOL2: GOD? I think it'd be great with today's technology. We could have had an American version of Final Fantasy, but no, EA had to happen.
Klepacki has left EA ,he had the choice then and declined. Rick is very busy with completely different things .But he likes it that the lore series has not be forgotten ,just like the Kyrandia series.Ever read his letter on my hompepage about that?
They moved on.
You know what the problem is but don't accept it.
There will be no follow up or a remake.
Some folks where busy with a remake ,maybe something better for you to participate?
Yes, I read the letter, but you said a "rich LOL fan could help." That's where I got the impression that someone could help buy the licenses back, anyhow.
I am glad that Klepacki wasn't eaten by EA, because now he can do what he needs at Petroglyph. I am a bit upset that he wasn't included in C&C3, though.
I also wish I had a copy of the LOL2 soundtrack, since I no longer have a computer capable of playing it.
this was worthy pay off in the game for delving deep into the imaginations of the creators ... they truly shared a remarkable world with us. i remember with great fondness -- greater than any movie -- living in that world for 3 games. if only they could make 3 more!

This is my favorite cutscene from any game, ever.
If heaven exists it probably resembles the City of the Ancients...

Long live the beauty that was Westwood and Lands of Lore.
If only it had lived to see this era of gaming, then we might have seen magnificence like this in REAL-TIME!

I am interested in how you got these. What'd you use to get them out of the game files? I know you didn't just record the non-movie conversations.

Why, Louis Castle, why? Why did you throw you and your company's lots in with what would ultimately destroy you?!
