Want it or not if this was a real fight the black guy would've stomped Lechi Kurbanov and ripped him apart. If this was a real fight it'd have been over at 0:44
Note: I train Kyokushin myself but this doesn't change the fact that this fight is no evidence of one martial art being superior to another. The only fact that remains I already stated above.
whats with that spinning kick? all well and good in something like that were you can't strike a down'd opponent. use it in mma (pride, ufc etc) and you've had it if you miss

just watch when the big guy uses low kick in the kyokushin fighter his leg hardly moves by the blow and when the kyokushin fighter does a low kick the big guy crouches ossu!!!
Wow no weight classes? Just like the old UFC... The big guy did well in a real fight he woulda won... but thats purely cuz hes double the kyokushin guys size
i accualy forgot to say....OSU! i train karate and ur absolutely right taking that kick is stupid and my karate trainer say u most be 100% sure to hit if u use a kick like that.
second of all both use tsuki on the chest only which is karate
third of all the black guy is too heavy and slow, and other than sweet mawashi geri and this unclean ushiro- mawashi geri nothig special has happend here..
I'd expect the kyokushin guy to work legs of the other dude with low kicks... but he must have figured out that being more flexible he'd finish off the black more effectively
2. Its just allowd to kick to the head not to box. how will will get the K1 fighter the Karateka kO?? He cant make high Kicks he to BIG lol:D stupid fight

I prefer muay thai , this is my style, but I respect kyokushikai karate!
@spray , I started w/ Kyokushin but you have to see the reality that nowaday Kyokushin fighters are consistently destroyed fighting MT and Sanshou guys. Yes, destroyed! Humiliated. Kyokushin sent Russian fighters to China & the humiliation is just the same. Kyokushin has the advantage of being 1 of the first more realistic sparring but when you don't change and you are fking doomed. From the strongest karate to the joker in MA world? Hope not. Ossu
@bish, ossu. I am talking about things in general. Of course i know Andy Hug etc but pls answer the following question honestly: If a Kyokushin guy bought an MT guy on the ring, and you don't know any of them, which side you think would win? Chance is good that Kyokushin will not survive first round. I want Kyokushin to do well, I love it. But the fact is that it does not. In this part of the world (SE Asia), Kyokushin fighters do not command the respect it used to get. That's the sad fact.
haha i love you. you know how much power is in kyokushin karate? i want to see you walk up to lechi kurbanov's face and tell you "you have pussy technique". kyokushin karate is known for it's sheer power
You can't really call Kyokushin a martial SPORT. TKD is a Martial Sport but Kyokushin is full contact and many famous MMA fighters have a Kyokushin background. Very Useful
You're right, that was not a fair fight-that fucking gorilla didnt' stand a chanace against superior Kyokushin technique--try it yourself, pal-I bet you'd have some broken bones by now, espicially internet tough guys like you.
there's alot of 'what if' and 'if that was a real fight' kind of phrases made by delusional people in the world. Fact is that the kick defeated the k1 guy and that's that. Thats what happened in the ring with judges and spectators and this is a sport. Just accept what happened and give the karate guy credit for his agility aiight. Im not taking sides and who knows the k1 guy might thrash the karate guy next time round? essence of Martial arts lies in the individual always
I personally like especially this fight from Lechi, cause that cocky pig behaved himself like hi was fighting some shit and like a shit he was knocked out. BTW 0:53 also very nice.
As you can realize, the K-1 fighter was more than 50kg heavier, than the other one, and also 15cm taller. The kyo fighter was really lucky that he managed to kick his opponent's had before being knocked out. Anyway, it was a great job :)
He shouldnt have done it at all though...it was a risk with a one in three chance of landing? Not worth it. Had this been a real fight, he would have been landing in a bad defensive position, and pummeled on the ground. The wheelkick he did looks nice and has some power, but it is of little use outside of the sport arena.
WTF fuck are you talking about? Useless outside of the sport arena? And who is talking about a stree fight? That man is a great fighter and this was a great job.
Well it really is useless, because if you carefully looked at the video, you'd see that that was the third kick that hit. So if wrestling was allowed or had it been a real fight, he would have been beaten to deatch twice so the third kick would not have happened. Thus, useless outside sport arena. Karate is no martial art. It's a sport. And of course I'm not including the original okinawan karate.
Outside the ring, on the street you can put your opponent down by punching him to the face, or hitting him by head, there are many ways to do it.. you don't know what would this guy do with the black man outsite the ring. He used this kick, because it's a part of that sport and because it was effective as we saw. Besides, wrestling is like a national sports for chechens, I mean real wrestling, not the american show.
Yes it's true that it is good in this kind of situation and he could use something different on the street. But.. It's a sad fact that in a real situation where adrenaline is flkowing, people tend to do what they have done before. So what you practise, you also do when someone attacks you for real. ya.
Why can't you understand, this is the point! If you were allowed to finish the opponent on the ground, Lechi wouldn't do this kick, cause he wouldn't risk, he tried, cause it's in compliance with rules.. this is it. Besides, did you see the difference in weight and height? Tell us, what would you do with such opponent, professor.
Well first of all. As you can see from my previous post (if you bothered to objectively read it) I was saying that it was an ok kick in this situation where one is not allowed to attack an opponent on the ground. As far as the use of martial arts in a real situation goes.. a moronic kick. But if you only do sport-karate, it's ok. It's not amazing, but if you time it right and have some luck it can floor an opponent.
He was a good fghter, but a wheelkick is just a gamble in a REAL fight, thats why you never see it in MMA competitions like the UFC. When they land on thier back, the opponent will take advantage and pin or pound them. I have been a martial artist for over 10 years and ask any fighter who trains for real combat and they would tell you the same. Just look at him fall; Wouldnt you take the chance to beat him down when your standing over him like that in a real fight scenario?
Why do you compare kyokushin and MMA? MMA is mixed fight, you use everything there and therefore you don't use some techniqus, cause you know if the opponent can do everything he sure will find some other technique to succesfully counterattack you. Nobody would dance in MMA like Ali, nobody would scream like Bruce Li. You're telling the things nobody need to hear, it's obvious. This guy did nice job, he defeated the guy ho was much bigger and stronger than him. That's the point, watch and enjoy.
it works if you use it in the third round when either fighter is tired in MMA. i've used it and it worked. its not the technique, its knowing when to use that matters. i've been doing martial arts for 15 years. so know.
I think the kick is really cool but there are no rounds in a real fight. Even if you did it in the third round, if you missed, you would still be just as screwed as if it was the first round, if you both have the same stamina.
yes I know. I've practised martial arts for 10 years. Wheelkick is powerful and devastating yes, but the problem is that it's easy to see coming and if it doesn't hit you're screwed. It looks good which is why people hype it a lot. But it's not very practical
i hate when after throwing a kick end on the floor, to just give him time to recover for free, bad rule por give them that time so he can get advantage of that other wise that gorila would get next to him easy
no in a real fight from the first flying shi- that guy did and landed on his azz the opponent would have beat him - the only reason that flying guy won is because he was given so many chances to keep getting back up- in a real fight the first that guy did that and landed on his azz he would have got beat by his opponent. This fight would have been different in real life and the black would have probably won...but don't know but even the smal guy fell and didn't look where his opponent was...
wow great fight but being a Kyokushin Karate Ka the man is used to being hit most styles of martial arts dont hit eachother as part of training. It was a classic round house and took the much bigger man down. go's to show the real meaning other martial arts a little person can take down a bigger person using skill. Awsome
Its bull really the kyo fighter has no place in k1.... seing as the fight cant go down to the floor the mma fighter has no chance if the kyo fighter just keeps spin kicking to the ground!
And that in no way is dissing the kyo, in my muaythai gym we have a kyo fighter who was seeded 5th in the world.... i hate sparring with him :p he doesnt protect his legs or body only his face and just walks at u telling you to kick his legs harder :(
the mma fighter - not k1 - was just a brute fighter .He has no respect for the opponent , he has got no technique whatsoever ... he bases his victory on one lucky punch or kick or on his superior weight ... while the kyokushin fighter you can see he is fluent like the water , his technique beautiful ...he is truly a martial art representative ..
"fluent like the water , his technique beautiful " what...? I have no doupt that he is good. But.. In this match he was just falling on his back so that the other guy wasn't allowed to do anything. Then won with a lucky kick. so..
Derukugi2, just to let you know kyokushin fighters do compete in K1 with their rules. Andy Hug, Semmy Schilt, Fransisco Filho, Nicholas Pettas to name a few. Kyokushin style is too dominant, just face it. If you want to bring in the mma, George St. Pierre, Bas Ruttan who also trains Kimbo Slice are Kyokushin practitioners.
That is true, there are lots K1 fighers with Kyokushin background.
That is not what I was talking about.
I was commenting on this large number of videos called "Kyokushin vs. xxx", which are invariably under Kyokushin rules.
That gives an unfair advantage to Kyokushin.
Conversely, if someyou set up a fight "Kyokushin vs. Shotokan" under Shotokan rules, and your Kyokushin guy gets shot down immediately because he didn´t train that way, you´d be screamin "unfair", wouldn´t you?
Shotokan tournament would be very bad for a kyokushin fighter. It's harder for a kyokushin practioneer to learn how to fight with semi contact. than for a shotokan practioneer to fight with full contact!
I like Kyokushin too but whether you like it or not, ending up on the floor in that situation is not good. Great martial arts like Kyokushin and Tae kwondo have been wittled down to sports and so tend to lose their overall fighting effectiveness.
For people who those those arts, they better hope they hit their target in a real street fight or they'll probbaly lose if the opponent goes for the win.
BTW, boxers are good at boxing but in an all out fight, they are poorly prepared. Peace.
If this would have been a real fight on the streets, the black dude would have pwnt him. Why? Those kicks were effortless.. he ended up on the ground with the enemy above him = super duper big problem, if the fight would continue and punches to the head were allowed.
He will not do that kicks because he is in the street he knows he will be on the ground. This is kyokushin rules so he knows what his doing. ANd you better shut up keyboard warrior because you will not last 5 seconds with Lechi, your dead before you knows it
Kyokushin rules omg no!! You totally missed my point. Its just hilarious, how a lot martial arts guys here think, they´re the toughest guy on earth while they learn something, which looks cool but is only effective, as long as there are rules and a referee to protect them when they fall to the ground. If its not usefull in the streets its just a sport and you should act like that.. no wonder that boxers make fun of us martial artists if you act idiotic and arrogant like that.
OK guys, just ask yourself how many people in a real fight (not trained at all)would survive several kiokushin kicks and punches...If trained MA competitors fight-that's something deferent...
Thats so crap, because these karate guys want to do all these fancy kicks which makes them fall over, and in a real street fight, they wouldnt be allowed to stand up and instead would be beaten up. So if this was a real street fight, the fancy pansy karate guy would have lost.
I just ask you 1 question? Can you do that kick? sometimes Roundhouses cannot even connect in head. Lechi is a legend in kyokushin. Train and defeat him not on the internet
Very rude to call the other guy a moran the hall mark of martial arts is respect and honour for you your teacher those you fight for and even your opponent

Sharukkin 2 years ago
it works if you use it in the third round when either fighter is tired in MMA. i've used it and it worked. its not the technique, its knowing when to use that matters. i've been doing martial arts for 15 years. so know.
Bloodsport7 2 years ago
I think the kick is really cool but there are no rounds in a real fight. Even if you did it in the third round, if you missed, you would still be just as screwed as if it was the first round, if you both have the same stamina.

hear hear. Karate guy got lucky using a moronic kick the third time
Kyou88 2 years ago
moronic kick? are you kidding me? this is the wheel kick. it is powerful and devastating
vmntmn 2 years ago
yes I know. I've practised martial arts for 10 years. Wheelkick is powerful and devastating yes, but the problem is that it's easy to see coming and if it doesn't hit you're screwed. It looks good which is why people hype it a lot. But it's not very practical
Kyou88 2 years ago
the guy is letchi kurbanov form tchetchenia. The huge black guy i don't know.
The thing is they're about 30 Kg (or more) apart so it's like a fifth-grader fighting with a highschool student... and the fifth grader wins.

i hate when after throwing a kick end on the floor, to just give him time to recover for free, bad rule por give them that time so he can get advantage of that other wise that gorila would get next to him easy

this was part of a ichigeki 7 matches event 4 of them were k-1 rules, 3 were kyokushin rules

ooh now i understand... they can't punch in each other's face... :/
well... the fat guy is weak anyway because he didn't protect his face like he should..
that's the result . .
victorbarulhento 3 years ago
k-1 fighter is sooooo weak...
I noticed a lot of oportunities for him to punch the opponent in the face, but he's too fat to move a little bit more fast....
So weak.. :(
victorbarulhento 3 years ago
Looks like it was Kyokushin rules--no punches to the face allowed.

haha kyokushinkai karate owns!
the size and mass difference was huge here!
but kyokushinkai still prevailed!
i did it for one year and then i stoped because it was too much!
of course the big guy would have won in a real fight situation but only because of the size difference!

no in a real fight from the first flying shi- that guy did and landed on his azz the opponent would have beat him - the only reason that flying guy won is because he was given so many chances to keep getting back up- in a real fight the first that guy did that and landed on his azz he would have got beat by his opponent. This fight would have been different in real life and the black would have probably won...but don't know but even the smal guy fell and didn't look where his opponent was...
bjon123abc 3 years ago
But this guy is not a fucking dumbass, so in a real fight he would never do this flying spinning kick.

In a real fight the giant black guy would cripple the little white guy instantly, reguardless of technique.

wow great fight but being a Kyokushin Karate Ka the man is used to being hit most styles of martial arts dont hit eachother as part of training.

And that in no way is dissing the kyo, in my muaythai gym we have a kyo fighter who was seeded 5th in the world.... i hate sparring with him :p he doesnt protect his legs or body only his face and just walks at u telling you to kick his legs harder :(
dazstar 3 years ago
the mma fighter - not k1 - was just a brute fighter .He has no respect for the opponent , he has got no technique whatsoever ... he bases his victory on one lucky punch or kick or on his superior weight ... while the kyokushin fighter you can see he is fluent like the water , his technique beautiful ...he is truly a martial art representative ..
ossu for kyokushin !
ashitakahiko 3 years ago
"fluent like the water , his technique beautiful " what...? I have no doupt that he is good. But.. In this match he was just falling on his back so that the other guy wasn't allowed to do anything. Then won with a lucky kick. so..
Kyou88 2 years ago
sorry, but there can't be no kyokushin vs k1 since kyokushin is part of k1. k1 is not a martial arts its a challenge-system!
constableman 3 years ago
People relax.
First of all i think it is fair enough that it is kyokushin rules, cuz the fighters are in 2 different weight groups.
And all that about using kicks in real fight, if the karate fighter was in a real fight, i really don't think that he would go after the head...
amvmaker1992 3 years ago
One thing about all these "Kyokushin vs xxx" fights is that they always use kyokushin rules.
That tilts the balance in favour of Kyokushin, since the other guys have not trained like that.
How about Kyokushin competes according to K1 rules or whatever they are up against?
Derukugi2 3 years ago
Derukugi2, just to let you know kyokushin fighters do compete in K1 with their rules. Andy Hug, Semmy Schilt, Fransisco Filho, Nicholas Pettas to name a few. Kyokushin style is too dominant, just face it. If you want to bring in the mma, George St. Pierre, Bas Ruttan who also trains Kimbo Slice are Kyokushin practitioners.
RydenLOW 3 years ago
That is true, there are lots K1 fighers with Kyokushin background.
That is not what I was talking about.
I was commenting on this large number of videos called "Kyokushin vs. xxx", which are invariably under Kyokushin rules.
That gives an unfair advantage to Kyokushin.
Conversely, if someyou set up a fight "Kyokushin vs. Shotokan" under Shotokan rules, and your Kyokushin guy gets shot down immediately because he didn´t train that way, you´d be screamin "unfair", wouldn´t you?
Derukugi2 3 years ago
Shotokan tournament would be very bad for a kyokushin fighter. It's harder for a kyokushin practioneer to learn how to fight with semi contact. than for a shotokan practioneer to fight with full contact!
Flyingtart 3 years ago
A shotokan practitioner fighting a kyokushin fighter would get killed. I can guarantee this.
RydenLOW 3 years ago
Haha yeah probably if he has no experience about full contact fighting.

CoIdHeat 3 years ago

Thats so crap, because these karate guys want to do all these fancy kicks which makes them fall over, and in a real street fight, they wouldnt be allowed to stand up and instead would be beaten up. So if this was a real street fight, the fancy pansy karate guy would have lost.
