I am in the Drill team for my wing in the AAFC(Australian Air Force Cadets) and let me tell you, it is verry hard to get those moves timed exactully These Guys train 6 hours a day 7 days a week, congratz gentelmen.
I love watching the silent drill teams. There's so much discipline that must go into getting those movements timed exactly right.

They use drums and music. It's much easier to do a choreographed routine to music and drumbeats. They act like non-vocal orders. Doing it without any music, drums, or command, just based on memory and perfect timing, the USMC drill team has a much tougher time.
Actualy the US does have the best Combat training. thats why most countries use our combat techniques if not they ask the US to train their Military Force or Police Force.
Saw these guys while I was in Sydney. Can't say I consider the US combat forces as well-trained as those of the UK, Germany, South Africa or our guys, but these guys sure as hell are. Must take a lot of talent and a lot of practice to pull that off.
Oh, I see, because a renown ceremonial drill team performing is any gauge on their combat training. The United States has not only the best ceremonial drill platoon (as seen above), but also the best combat training.

as a memeber of the british Army coldstream guards 1st battalion i know that drill is the fundamentle part of any army through the world. ur drill is some of the best ive seen however i still say that the guards of the british army are the best and if you watch the video trooping of the colour you will see wot i mean
You guys should check the QCS RAF video. The "betta" sound happens to be a Yankee boy band. What, did they take the Spice Girls out of rotation? As for the juggling comment, all of the drill moves are impractical for modern combat. So are the uniforms. So are the rifles (we don't use guns). Drill is used to instill discipline, camaraderie, and maintain the traditions of old. No one marches into battle anymore.

No, Marines are taught even in Boot Camp to slap the handgaurds of thier weapons in order to produce that noise, and as for "order arms," well, a 10 pound weapon smashing the deck is more than enough impact to create a loud noise. It would only make a noise when the weapon moved. I liked your other comment btw, glad some other people can make civilised comments. Drill is indeed there to teach self discipline, teamwork and to train the men to act on a single word of command without hesitation.
