how is your 8.8 holding up? and to how much hp? i am in the process of cutting one down for my 350 s10 which will be bout 425bhp and was wondering if it would hold up on street radials? thnx and nice truck man
Yeah the 8.8 is very strong, mine is out of an Explorer and they come stock with 31 spline axles. It has 3.73 gears and the stock Ford locker. Ive had 1.70 60' times at the track so far with it and it holds up fine. I run MT ET Drags so radials will not hurt the 8.8. There is a local guy that has a Turbo SBC S10 with an 8.8 CalTrac bars and stock suspension with2" drop block and cut 1.23 60' times and runs 8.90s in the 1/4. Slap that rear end in the truck and dont worry about it
@Weightz101 okay sounds great man so did you even have to cut yours down any or did you just use a bigger back spacing on the wheels cause i'll be running 15x10 with e/t streets and i don't like my tires bulging out the fenders cause mine is lowered quite a bit for a drag set up so i'll prolly have to raise it lol but i have the same exact rear as the one your talking about and didn't know if i even had to cut it down.....and thnx for your reply its very relieving lol
@Weightz101 wow sorry just saw where you said you narrowed it 3 inches lol...okay one more question how hard was it to set up the rear disc brakes and how expensive? thnx again
@Weightz101 lol okay sounds good man...is it very hard to trim the rearend? i'm wanting to run 10's but not stick out i guess i could get a bigger bback spacing and not shave it????? what do you suggest?
@BlueChevy0254 I would suggest reading and posting on V8S10.org forum, there is everything you need to know on there. Browse first then ask questions, very friendly.
The fitting for the brakes is PN 327828. Goes at the top of the rear brake line.
