if you like sam hain action figures. you should check out his predecessor from the 80's series the real ghostbusters. he had his own action figure when the episodes came out. they also recently released two new versions of him for the retro-action real ghostbusters toyline. the writer & director were likely inspired by this, having seen it as kids themselves. as they would have watched that sort of thing & been that age at the time it had come out. but pass it off as a new concept.
Ignoring the red pjs - I trust you'll make them look orange at the time - this is really cool and pretty well made. I adore this film. Me and some friends are getting together to watch this for Halloween, it's one of my favourite ever Halloween films because it might not be terrifying, but for me it captures exactly the feel/spirit of the season. It's really nice to see it getting some more 'press' - really, more people should see this film. Good job.

There is really no connection between them.
The only one I can think of is that the broke the "rules" of halloween.
SAM(hain) is the spirit of halloween.
