@Jarsia I agree- Chang here gave the most eloquent presentation of Klingon ideals that I've come across. TNG or DS9 Klingons would never have the brains to articulate it.
Tragically Chang's very ideals weakened the Empire. He believed in rule by the strong, but the strong are not necessarily honorable (as proven by Melkor's treachery) and the civil wars for dominance reduced the Klingons to a shadow of what they had been. The Klingons ultimately were their own greatest enemy.
@wijayapala Chang believed in honor too, he just wanted the chancellor to be a war monger too. I see your point though. Later era klingons werent much better off though. They'd elect a rabid dog to the chancellorship if it clung to their definition of honor. At least ST VI era klingons valued intelligence.
This reminds me of that scene between Quark and Garak where they compare the Federation to root beer.

@KingOfMadCows Quark: I want you to try something. It's an Earth drink. Root beer.
Garak: I couldn't...
Quark: Go on.
Garak: It's vile!
Quark: It's so happy and bubbly and cloy.
Garak: Just like the Federation.
Quark: You know what's worse? If you drink enough of it, you start to like it.
Garak: It's insidious.
Quark: Just like the Federation.
