I remember this programme with Charlie but it used to have a man with Charlie when I watched them, maybe it was before the woman took over.

mistofoles, I think you may be mixing up Charlie with "Busby" on the old telephone (pre-British Telecom) adverts, although that was just standard cel animation.

Charlie was an 'aniform', by the way. Information about aniforms on the net is quite sparse, as it seemed to be quite a secret process and most probably heavily patented. I always racked my brains over how he was done. Does anyone else think the same guy who voiced Charlie also did Roland Rat?!
