Excellent typographic video, and a good subject for it, no less. If I could be permitted one minor nitpick, however: In that particular situation, Yoda is saying "Its energy surrounds us." No apostrophe: He's not saying "It is energy surrounds us."
@shadowmyfeet Look up "Maris Brood". Her lightsabre has a modified hilt. The early Jedi had laserstaves, and a highpower sabre called the protosabre. Yes, I'm a geek.
I made this video in my 1st year of Multimedia... I am gonna work on another one except I am gonna incorporate 3D Text... Ohh and sorry if i offended anyone with the spelling mistakes hahaha
@AriMudz I didn't notice any spelling mistakes but that's probably because I love this speech so much and it makes me realize that this is the humanity that was missing from the prequels
@sublimeade Actually, that's not a typo, its not incorrect technically speaking. Take it from an English major, it is just unconventional and sounds simple-minded.
@shadowmyfeet take it from an English Ph.D. - simple minds think "it's" is possessive, while smart people know "it's" is a contraction for "it is". Technically speaking, you're incorrect (or should I said YOUR or UR, if that helps you understand). You dun tried reel hard, feel good bout that.
@sublimeade Yeah... I'd rather take the word of my Ph.D professor who went to Harvard and Yale. She has enough decorum at least to not resort to poorly chosen 'insults', if you can even call them such. Also.. you just contradicted yourself. You called 'it's' a contraction for 'it is' which is correct. But then you say I am technically incorrect for saying technically saying "it's" is not incorrect.
Are you sure you're an English Ph.D? What graduate school did you attend?
@sublimeade Where can I read some of your publications? With a a Ph.D from Cambridge/Oxford it must be riveting material. muse.jhu.edu/login?uri=/journals/mln/v122/122.1ramachandran.html - You can find a published work by my professor.
@shadowmyfeet wow you did a lot of google searching to look up some publications by any random professor, prolly took you all of 2 minutes. Unless I see your transcripts it's all b.s. You can find some of my work at the Nobel Institute, won a Peace Prize for Literature .. maybe you've heard of them?
@sublimeade It took two seconds to find her work since I know her and she is my professor. I can't give you my whole transcript but I can tell you I attend Stony Brook University which is where Ayesha currently teaches(though she goes all over).
@sublimeade I don't think it is about convenience. We could Facebook and you can see I attend where I say I attend. I think that would be more demonstrative than something you could just say "Oh you found that anywhere" to. I prefer to not bother with lies.
@Owdene i thought the midichlorians= force sensitivity. not necessarily power. Meaning if you can 'Hear' the force if you were taught to listen. otherwise it will be used passively.
@lioneaglegriffin yeah, but the trouble is most people take it to mean that midis are some kind of "power-level", reducing the spiritual, mystical nature of the Force to some kind of DBZ plot device. Everything we are taught from the original films gets completely disgarded. Idiots.
@shadowmyfeet . . . and not just his sayings. Also, I like to look at it the other way around, the PT is ruined and rendered utterly pointless by the OT.
@Owdene No but see the Prequels ruin themselves on their own. They just drag the OT with them. Seriously, there are so many gaping holes in The Phantom Menace, Attack of The Clones, and Revenge of the Sith that they cannot even hold themselves up as movies. They constantly shatter my suspension of disbelief because they screw up so many times.
Yeah the OT isn't perfect but it has less plot-holes, less bad acting, and more memorable scenes. If you like the PT then alright, but I cannot watch'em.
@shadowmyfeet oh I know they do, no argument there. I'm just pointing out that I personally refuse to let them harm the OT, which, unfortunately, many don't. Shame.
The thing that really did in the prequels for me was the death of Darth Maul. He was clearly a badass. He oozed scary juice more than Darth Vader did in IV... Right up until he was killed by the biggest idiots in all of Star Wars. Qui-Gon was incapable of resolving a dispute with the Toydarian without causing a local upset in front of Jabba the Hutt (a slave/whore mongering madslug who he should have killed on sight).
@sparta981 Yeah I mean it is obvious in Return of the Jedi that Jabba has nothing but contempt for the Jedi, laughing at Luke and such. But you're 100000% right, I never thought of that. Darth Maul WAS a badass, and he was the ONLY Jedi/Sith with an unconventional weapon. Thanks for giving me this insight!
There were others with oddball weapons. Lots of characters in the books had some pretty sweet ones. You know, now that I think about it, Boba Fett should have his own movie based on "Tales of the Bounty Hunters". That'd be so freaking amazing.
Nice choice of dialouge. This was the type of ethos that made the original star wars movies indelible. Yoda's speech just gets me pumped up for Jedi victory.
This is an amazing video, if i could give you moret than a 5 i would! what program did you use? i want to try typography, but i honestly have no idea how/where to start. do you have any tips? that would be great! thanks.
Oh snap. That was so cool. O_o It's all symbolic and everything, too. XD The only problem I have with it is one TINY little typo, where it should be "its" instead of "it's". D: Otherwise, AMAZING. Fersher.
This gave me chills.
