  • Gary looks like the young Albert Einstein.

He is an honest interpreter of scriptures. But I am not sure if he's a full or partial preterist,

  • @csdr0 Gary is a partial preterist.

  • Not true

  • "The book of Daniel was sealed until the "time of the end". That's why we could only see the perfection of God's plan AFTER the years of 1948 and 1967 had passed and we could prove the math."

John was told not to seal up the book because "the time is at hand" Rev 22:10. Was Revelation written in 1948?

  • You seem to only be able to see 16 century jesuit doctrines of preterism and futurism. Because I am not a preterist doesn't make me a futurist. I only deal in fulfilled prophecy.

Daniel predicted the restoration of the jews:

He writes of oppression of Jews by a succession of Satanic kingdoms.

Two of Daniel's dreams had specific time pins:

    First year of Belshazzar 552 BC + 2500 = 1948

    Third year Cyrus 533 + 2500 = 1967

...have accomplished to scatter the power of the holy people...

  • 1948 and 1967 marked the end of the scattered strength of the holy people - Jews being the only holy people of Daniel's day.

Daniel 12:9 And he said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the words [are] closed up and sealed till the time of the end.

The book of Daniel was sealed until the "time of the end". That's why we could only see the perfection of God's plan AFTER the years of 1948 and 1967 had passed and we could prove the math.

  • The KJV says when "ye" see. A plural. Modern bibles could only express this with something like y'all. This plural is one of the reasons the King James was written in an antiquated English that was already obsolete at the time the King James was penned.

2 Timothy 3:16 All scripture [is] given by inspiration of God, and [is] profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

  • Your opening premise is incorrect. It is also a metaphor: generation New Testament Greek Definition: 1074 genea {ghen-eh-ah'} from (a presumed derivative of) 1085; TDNT - 1:662,114; n f AV - generation 37, time 2, age 2, nation 1; 42 1) fathered, birth, nativity 2) that which has been begotten, men of the same stock, a family 2a) the several ranks of natural descent, the successive members of a genealogy 2b) metaph. A GROUP OF MEN VERY MUCH LIKE EACH OTHER IN ENDOWMENTS PURSUITS, CHARACTER
  • In other words it could be referring to Christian men. Or the generation of regenerate individuals of the Christian era, suggesting that there won't be an additional intervening age before ALL THOSE THINGS COME TO PASS. All those things included the "times of the Gentiles" in Jerusalem being fulfilled, which happened in 1967 when the Jews regained control of Jerusalem for the first time in 2500 years.

  • Pete, a generation is 40 years in the Bible. Do you believe Jesus is came in the year 2007? Hal Lindsy first tried to say it was to be dated from 1947 and predicted in his book, THE LATE GREAT PLANET EARTH Christ would probably return in the 80's. Sounds like Campings 1994 and a host of others. Please read LAST DAY MADNESS by Gary Demar if you want to see ALL of the unfulfilled predictions many truly pathetic like the you-go cult where women got abortions to lighten them for the rapture. • @Blogrich55 What does John Nelson Darby's 19th century futurist eschatology have to do with the traditional continuous-historic context that I have been discussing within?

    beholdthebeast. com/traditional_framework. htm

    Who is THE false prophet?

Surah 4.157 That they said (in boast), "We killed Christ Jesus ... but they killed him not, nor crucified him ... for of a surety they killed him not:

    watch?v=KZF93B2iQHA

  • @PeteWaldo asks "Who is THE false prophet?"

The false prophet, according to the 13th chapter of the Apocalypse, exercised the authority of the 1st beast. He comes up from the earth (Land or Holy Land) and represents the unbelieving Jews who did NOT flee to the mountains as Christ warned His followers to do. They stayed behind and were destroyed in the fall of Jerusalem. Notice the unbelieving Jews could not kill Christ themselves. They had to get Rome to do their dirty work.

  • @Blogrich55 I see. Where are you licensed to turn the term "prophet" into a metaphor to suit our doctrine?

Yet 1/4 of mankind is filled with complete resolve, via a murdering, prisoner raping, thief as to what to DISvelieve.

Surah 4.157 That they said (in boast), "We killed Christ Jesus ... but they killed him not, nor crucified him ... for of a surety they killed him not:-

Amazing what doctrine can do. Leaders from the Presbyterian church divested of Israeli assets while they met with Hamas.

  • @PeteWaldo Let's get one thing straight up front: Don't even BOTHER to quote the Surah at me! Also I am of Jewish ancestry myself. The Jews instigated the death of Christ and Rome carried it out. Any further quotes from Muslim sources will NOT be answered. Got it?

  • @Blogrich55 So then who killed Jesus?

  • @PeteWaldo What does the Bible clearly say "YE have taken and by WICKED HANDS have slain."Act 2:23 Now it is obvious the Jews came with temple guards to arrest Jesus. Yet THEY could not kill Him. Herod did NOT have the authority to do so. Yet they exercised the Power of the Beast, Nero, and the Roman Empire he represented. They got Rome's wicked hands to do their dirty work. Yet Peter preached to them. And the elect Jews heard the gospel, believed and were saved. God had predetermined it to be!

  • Pete the particular etymology is not as important as how the word is used. If the word is used, as many premills think to mean this race or people, we have a problem. It makes Jesus anti-semetic for He says "you generation of vipers" He would be calling the entire Jewish race vipers. You need to check out the list Gary has as to HOW the word is used in the New Testament. It always refers to the generation He is refering to. Also, if He meant a future one, He would have said "that generation"RLJ

  • "He would be calling the entire Jewish race vipers."

You destroyed the context. He would be calling those Jews that shared the same traits that He was in the process of condemning them for.

Your view would suggest that ALL within that geneological generation, shared the same traits, but not any before that generation.

And just like today's church they were:

Mar 7:13 Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye.

  • The Greek houtos {hoo'-tos} translated as "this" in the verse above, is translated as "the same" on 28 other occasions.

The same generation that sees the "times of the Gentiles" in JERUSALEM fulfilled. Gentiles controlled Jerusalem until 1967.

A million Jews slain in 70 AD, and another 750K slain about 40 years later. Islamic desolation, Crusades, British mandate, etc. until the Jews ended the "times of the Gentiles" in Jerusalem in 1967.

  • @PeteWaldo "until the Jews ended the "times of the Gentiles" in Jerusalem in 1967."

WOW. First of all I never accused you of being a Darbyite. BUT, having said that, I'll bet most dishpan-sensationalists will high 5 you on this one. Not one shred of exegetical evidence. I guess Jesus meant something else when He said the things that must SHORTLY come to pass.

Oh, I know, I HAVE heard nutbar Dave Hunt try to explain it away. Lemme see: it means that WHEN it starts to happen it will be quick! LOL

  • @Blogrich55 They did shortly COME to pass BEGINNING in the first century.

  • @PeteWaldo "They did shortly COME to pass BEGINNING in the first century."

NO, they SHORTLY came to pass in which God the Son said they would, before the end of THAT generation. Why do you bother to post brother Gary when you don't believe in preterism? What are you? A gutless Muslim apologist who hasn't got what it takes to sail under his own colors? You do NOT understand the rudiments of biblical eschatology. Or are you a Zionist who bothers to quote Muslim sources to justify his nonsense?

  • @Blogrich55 I pointed out that your touchstones "this" and "generation" are ambiguous at best particularly since "this" is also translated as "the same". Yet you didn't explain your abuse of the term "prophet".

Yet you're so married to Jesuit Alcazar's 17th century eschatology that you even act as though it is insignificant that THE false prophet Mohammed has 1.5 billion followers denying the blood of Christ, and denying He is the Son of God, as primary articles in Mohammed's religion. Oh well.

  • @PeteWaldo The point is, contrary to Dr. Bertrand Russel and other mockers of the gospel,Jesus was NOT a false prophet who was deluded and only THOUGHT He was coming back before the end of His generation. A generation is 40 years. Jesus died approximately in the year 33 AD. 40+33= 73 The destruction of Jerusalem was 70 AD He came in the clouds in judgment just as Jehovah had in Isaiah 19 and NUMEROUS other places. The high priest understood Him and tore His robes. Too bad non preterists don't.

  • @Blogrich55 I suppose if you believe that God judges folks as a happenstance of their birth, then you could believe He condemned a whole generation. However the term translated as "generation" is also a metaphor for a group of men all sharing the same attributes.

Perhaps the biggest question you have to ask yourself is WHO is THE false prophet, with 1/4 of mankind in Mohammed's grip?

Sura 19:88 They say: "(Allah) ... has begotten a son!" 89 Indeed ye have put forth a thing most monstrous!

  • @PeteWaldo " I suppose if you believe that God judges folks as a happenstance of their birth, then you could believe He condemned a whole generation."

I didn't say He did. But this is the only type of retarded rhetoric and pathetic polemics certain types can seem to muster. You must put words in your opponents mouths. Ho Hum. The biggest question I have at the moment is WHY you quote the Sura so much. ROFLOL Don't waste my time.
