I've ridden this bike, its fun and an interesting experiment. It will take years of research in battery technology to make it as practical as a gasoline motor. We also need to remember that electric power must be generated some how? Either by natural gas, coal, hydro, or nuclear power, which is not cheap or friendly to the planet.

Adding solar panels to this machine, would not improve the performance or range with our current technology.

so as i understand main problem isnt the electrical engine but the batteries which can handle as much power as they can by now but if theyd be more powerfull than the engine could make power way more than inner combustion engines these days and the bike would weigh way under 100 kilos?

imagine you can ride in your back yard without bothering the neighbours. you can ride in the woods without bothering the animals. would be great to have 2 batteries. so you can change them and go on riding while the spare batterie loads. very nice stuff.... cant wait till they get cheaper. i could buy 20 125cc bikes for that money... but i could not drive them alot because they are too noisy.

Zero looks more like a traditional dirtbike. I like the look of that one much better. Seems more serious too. Why don't they put a realy good freestyler on one to do some real jumps? (if it's capeble of that, that is)
