the crowd noise is edited out to hear the music on television better, and this awards show looked like a formal dinner, so it didnt have an audience. Cheering during the performance wouldve probably been seen as disrespect, that probably why there wasnt any cheers during the routine. There was claps afterwards so it wasnt that bad.
