  • what a fine example of a rock and roll band, swell with pride everybody

  • He is simply the best guitarist of his generation...Along with Greenwood and Squire....

  • Dark clouds, dark crowd, psychedelic rock and a genius on stage, maybe weed, now i can imagine the atmosphere there....

  • la canzone piu bella dei Verve

  • The sound of the Verve rescued me in 97' and saved my life.

  • @sydandbarrit Alright...That;s awesome....: )) Peace

  • and there were harmonies

  • totally brilliant!!!

  • why is very quite?

  • Oh man i was there in haigh hall!! This brings back memories

  • be ok if ye could hear it

  • I would like The Verve to play in Canada - at the Pemberton Music Festival. That would be a kick ass venue for them.

  • I was standing next to an English bloke at Oxegen who was desperate for them to play this song

    But they didn't:(

  • Nawh, poor guy =[ And what a great song it is.

  • True. I was more cut up that they didn't play "She's a Superstar" and "Come on" but this beauty would have been good to hear as well

  • Best band EVER!!!!!

  • listen to nick starting @ 3:14 ..sounds from outer space once again! that is just monstrous

  • nick is a monster

  • what a beautiful song

  • look at nick go!! (:

  • Kryklov, get ur facts rite before spouting alot of pish! The 1st comeback gig was in Glasgow (thats the UK, not Amrica) then they toured england then done a stadium tour after that, again in the UK! So,i think you can 'fuck off'

  • I give 5star s a rate for this song.superb!ashcroft good vocal and the verve themselves r beyond others when this song done.

  • They are playing at Glastonbury in June, will undoubtedly be the highlight of the festival for me

  • They reformed with a UK tour late last year. And have signed up for a few festivals in the UK this summer.

So no, they didn't bypass the UK at all.

  • to be honest i'd rather they polished up over there 1st then unleashed the greatest come back of all time ova here listen 2 sit and wonder i'm sure u'll love em again!!!

  • don't even comment america fails in the great bands of all time department

  • i couldn't agree more in that regard. Britain and Ireland really have produced most of the great bands over the last few decades.

  • "don't even comment america fails in the great bands of all time department"

Don't forget where Rock came from.

  • they are from manchester... in north england... so is the verve (as in north england, their actually form wigan)

  • we pwn you in everthing.

  • I just saw them in San Francisco last night 4/23/08. They were awsome. There is some bad footage. Perhaps someone else can put up a good one.

  • Not A very Good Crowd Is it really ,Shame

  • And, of course, you're not serious. Good one, nonetheless.

  • vive simon tong le keyboards

  • The verve are unlike any other band i've heard. I've heard Oasis at their 94-97 prime, can't get enough. I'm liking a few songs of urban hymns, like drugs don't work and bittersweet symphony but the space jams like this are something i've never heard from popular bands before. I honestly don't know what to say...guess the verve have a sound of their own...not really straightforward hard rock...

  • holy shit Nick Mccabe rips it up on this one. Wow. His guitar sounds so dark on this one...

  • To be in your eyes

To be in your eyes !

    Excellent !

  • This is my fav The verve song...it´s so hypnotic... to listen carefully seat on a confortably couch ...i miss sounds like this...

  • Saw them at o2 last thurs and quite simply The Verve are still amazing as ever! Finishing with Come On was electric

  • Have you seen them, then, since they've reunited? Any footage of their new stuff to be found anywhere? (Other than the "Thaw Session," that is.)

  • Actually, Cast No Shadow wasn't written about Richard at all. Noel dedicated it to him in the lyric booklet of (What's the Story) Morning Glory? in 1995, around the time that the Verve were broken up. He's said that he dedicated the song "like you dedicate songs to people in the audience at shows."

  • see them last night at the O2, shit hot!!

  • Noel says on Lord Dont Slow Me Down that it is written about him.

  • actually if you watch lord down slow me down he specifically said its "dedicated" to him

  • He says that it's not written about him- he said something about how "You know when you dedicate a song to someone from stage? It was like that."

  • Who cares man.. Cracking tunes from the start!!!

  • Aye ur probebly right man to be honest.

  • Amaszing voice

  • storm in heaven and a northern soul did produce their best stuff but this is an awesome throw back to their early work. lots of distortion and fucked up guitar trickery with dickies ambigious lyrics

  • NICK MCcABE IS UNREAL!

  • this is good, but their older stuff was the best.

  • The Verve = Pure Class! Remember partying in Leeds way back when Bittersweet symphony came out, a brilliant Album and if I remember rightly at the time Noel Gallagher said that Ashcroft was a Genius! Then went onto write Cast No Shadow based on Ashcroft - Bitter Sweet Symphony is genius!

  • Cast No Shadow was written years before BSS was released. Noel Gallagher dedicated to the genius he showed even before Urban Hymns came out.

  • Aye, you maybe right, but that isn't what it said on Gallaghers website, so maybe they got it wrong too....

Anyhow off to 02 to see the verve live in December, get in!

  • they added on neon wilderness , adding bits and improvising is called giving something extra , imagination . dimwit .

  • well improvise on your hearing sucker

  • you tell me , what exactly did they add , a few lines and then neon wilderness (track 6 on urban hymns) maybe i missed something ?

  • hotttttt

  • i was there, i was 14 and i couldnt see fuck all but nevertheless i was fucking there! guitar sounds massive, mccabe always blows my head of when i watch him play

  • Indeed it is pure class.!

  • thanks for posting this, McCabe deals with that guitar! Class!
