Hillary News: the New Zealand Geographic Board is considering Naming a Mountain Ridge near Mt Cook after Sir Edmund. there is another submission to re-name Mt Olivier in Mount Cook National Park: Mt Olivier / Hillary as it was his inspirational first summit & also rename nearby Magellan Pk: Tenzing Norgay Peak to honour his co-party in his great achivement. However the Media is backing the Hillary Ridge Idea thus far.
