You should be able to use a green screen effect. Put green duct tape on the saber, then feather the transparency. Put a bright colored background behind the top layer and it should look sweet. My friends did it in AV last year.

There is motion tracking in Adobe Premiere Elements 8, idk if it will work for this... you can change it by the keyframe option in the edit effects menu.

I have elements 7 and if you click on the clock by the name of the effect (i don't know how it's called xD) then you don't have to do it frame by frame.

@xBlblx That was the method they used on star wars(The first films ,,The good ones) ,felt tip pen on each frame ,,One at a time!! ....probably a lot faster with pen on the film to be honest,but still thats a lot of frames

When I did my vid (which i sent to you) it kept getting choppy and messing up with the frames. When I have a certain frame selected, itsows 2 diferent frames that will switch back from eachother. it will also sometimes star dupilicating the frames!! the video i sent you was the messed up one.

I am very appreciative of your tutorial. I recently made a Star Wars video with my kids. I wanted to add effects but had no idea how to go about it. I ended up not having the time to add all the light saber effects that I intended to add (it took 10 hours to add the ones I did add) but I used the same technique to add blaster effects. just put the color you want at a VERY LOW COLOR!! drag the" color chager thingy" and pull it to the REALLY dark part of the color you want! hope I helped!!

Why would you do that on AP Elements??? do it with a tracking software and the laser will automatically follow the saber.

On PE7 you don't have to cut it every frame, if you press the stopwatch on the tab you want to animate, it does it automatically.
