The eye of "the" needle was an entrance into Jerusalem only big enough for a man to pass through, but not a camel with all his possessions. I like this interpretation better since it deals with a realistic scenario.
Have you ever noticed people interject their names into the places where Jesus is talking to the apostles or disiples? But never the young rich man? They interject their names when Jesus gives authority or power? But not when He asks the young man to go and sell what they has and give it to the poor. Do they really believe or just pretend to believe? They never replace the young rich man with their names only the apostles names or Paul or someone else.
Go and sell all that you have and give to the poor and come follow me. Would you do it? Have you done it? Are you doing it? Would you do it for love of neighbor? For love of God? What if people laughed at you? What if they put you in a mental hospital? What if your family put you there? What if your christian brothers and sisters put you there? Are they afraid? Or do they love their life? Do they really believe?

The actor who portrayed Jesus in this film never smiles. I somehow believe Jesus would of been a happier person.
