  • Its a joke. Anyone watching this who would consider this good advise, please please talk to a pro power lifter. I get he's trying to be funny by acting completely moronic. But saying this garbage as a joke to people in the weight lifting world, who know better, is one thing. Telling the masses, when some might take it as sound information is totally different. I hope this guy gets sued by the parents of a skinny little kid who hurts himself following this protocal. That will teach him.

  • I've been power lifting for about a year now and I can tell you if you dead lift with your legs straight you will tear a ligament in your legs. This guy is fucking retarded. Your back is no where near as strong as your legs. Try doing back rows. You won't even be able to lift half the weight you lift when you squat. A dead lift is a compound lift and uses legs as well as the back. Also martial arts is about muscle memory and there is no way you can get a black belt in 6 weeks.

  • Im a Highschool state powerlifting champ in the 275 lb division, First off, NEVER tell people to use their back for their lifts. if you want a strong back, do it in workouts, not your actual lifts. Deadlifts especially, you want a straight back, explode with the traps on the first pull, legs to lockout, back is only used in lockout. squat is the same, straight back big chest head up slightly. this is some crazy shit...

  • Hey Garv I had an uneven amount of too much weight on a cheap bench and the weight fell down to my neck, i began to turn purple and i pushed the weight off of me

    and became stronger than you ever were, i also realized that my video camera captured the whole thing so i showed it to my Bjj instructor and became a purple belt as well. some of the other student got jealous and attacked me, but because of TFP hes now in a coma.

  • lift with your back? that's how you break it... uneven distribution on barbell without a spot? asking to get hurt. go too heavy and no spot, same thing. I understand the whole thing about spots though. I normally lift without a spot until my last set that gets to 90+% of my max. but the role of the spotter is not for dependency, but rather safety. some lifters, including myself, do not allow the spotter to touch the bar until I can no longer move the bar and it has begun to go back down.
