  • The only real flaw i felt the game had was that it falls into the trap of a lot of games of its type, first person shoots based around a story and there is nothing but playing through the story to game, but it did have 2 endings. there was no multilayer but its just not that type of game and its better in not have it. It was one of my top five games on the xbox, my second favorite after morrowind and then followed by halo 1 and 2. i do feel that the game had some untapped potential though

  • What fucking pissed me off was that everybody was like, "Wow, it looks pretty shitty." Yet they didn't play it for the story or the suspense, which BLEW ME AWAY. The most under-rated Xbox game every created...

  • i beat this game on every difficulty, and no matter how many times i played it i still get chills meeting the stealth t'lan and when Alex gets killed in front of me, this game was my absolute favorite of all time

  • There's a part in the game where you enter this facility and they explain what's going on and why they brought you here, you then look at this mirror while hallucinating. At the time I played this game, I looked EXACTLY how he looked in the mirror, facial hair and all. It freaked me the hell out.

I even looked at my Xbox thinking it might have some kind of camera that does a facial recognition thing, but it was just coincidence.

  • As much as this game leaves you wanting more when its over, it is probably best that there isn't a follow-up. Maybe if its done by the same people. But the way the story ends...

MEGA HUGE SPOILERS, DON'T READ BELOW IF YOU HAVEN'T PLAYED BREAKDOWN (ONE OF THE GREATEST GAMES EVER) its pretty much a continuous cycle. If the two characters want to stay together, they will have to keep jumping back and forth through time continuously saving the world and again putting it back in danger.

  • @NinaBauer

Agreed, this game is an art. It doesn't need a sequel to ruin its intricate structure. It's sort of a closed loop.

  • I blame the lack of multiplayer as the reason this game didn't sell well. Such a pity, too...if it had developed into a franchise, there's no doubt in my mind it would have beaten the hell out of Halo.

  • A next gen sequel would be incredible!

  • somebody knows what is the song in the time 3:15 is I need that it please

    Grax xD

  • "Take it All" by Trust Company

  • algiuen sabe cual es la cancion en el tiempo 3:15 es que la necesito porfavor

    grax xD

  • I Agree With You Spartan229 It Is One Of The Best Games Out There. Sucks It Didn't Sell Much A Sequel Would Have Been Awesome.

  • accept at the end the cat turned out to just be a cat wtfs up with it dissapearing and reappering at that shit

  • Because the cat you are seeing is a hallucination. The cat at the end is real.

  • A hallucination? Or a memory? Let me stop because of spoilers. Such a cool story.

  • @Spartan229 Is it a hallucination or is that Cat the first test subject of the Pendulum project? I thought it was the the latter.

  • Oh ...My ...God....

Chills man, absolute chills. I haven't played this in a few years and I guess even though I know it's a great game, I've forgotten just how badass it really was.

  • YEAH it's one of the greatest games ever!

  • lol i cried after watchin the trailer, tears of joy man, this was the best game ever ^_^ i still have my copy and with that...i think imma go play it again

  • The game is really awesome m8. but crying at the end?

  • this is my favorite game and wen i beat it , i felt so good....thnx 4 uploading it...u brought back good memories

  • I only rented this game and played it to death when i did, just watching this trailer again makes me want it even worse. I would even settle for a remake of the original but updated like the chronicles of riddick game coming out if not a sequel

  • The only reason I still have an X-Box is because Breakdown is still not backwards compatable on X-Box360. I want everyone to know I beat the game, I know how it ends, and this is one of those games I would sell my soul to see a sequel made for! I mean, I'd take them never making another Zelda or Kotor game again to see a sequel made for Breakdown!

  • It is backwards compatible, has been.

  • Really? You mean you can download a patch over X-BoxLive to make it work?

  • If you got XBL, you probably already downloaded the patch, go give it try!

  • Man, I don't have X-BoxLive

  • I don't know if you already know since this post is kind of old. But I don't have X-Box Live and the game works fine on X-Box 360.

  • Huh, I tried it before I had Live and it didn't work. Did you get your X-Box recently or do you get the Official X-Box magazine disks? Because that might be why. But it doesn't matter anymore since I got Live, and I can finally play Breakdown on 360!!

  • I've had my X-Box for almost 2 years and before I had Live I'm pretty sure it worked. But whatever, at least it works now.

  • Such a good game.

  • ultra accelerat0r* my bad lol

  • the best part is 3:12 when they had trust company lol

my fav song on this is the ultra telongin theme i think thats what it called but man this game kicked major ass

  • this game is retarded set on max difficulty. the white room right before solus at the very end? harder than solus/nexus. hardest thing ive ever done in a videogame, but the subject matter is so amazing that i never got mad at it. it'll never happen, but a second game would require minimal advertising to make ungodly money. I'd buy several copies to force on people that hadn't played it yet.

  • So far this game is fucking awsome. My favorite game, but im stuck fighting solus after u go back in time, when he powers himself up ands so damn hard

  • AWESOME!!!!

  • Breakdown owns so much, call me a noob but this game was/has been one of the hardest ive played, but thats what made it awesome, along with the story, beatin solus was one of my top 5 moments in gameing history! The thing that gets me is theres a 1 in a billion chance of a 2nd game set in the 'future' if one does get made, they might just make a different story line. Fingures crossed anyway

  • Dude, you're no n00b if you get that far in the game. This is like one of the hardest games ever. Greatest game ever.

  • THIS GAME IS HARD EVEN ON EASY

  • First time i played it i played on easy and ended up getting owned so many times

  • ALEX REFUSED TO DIE.

  • This is an amazing game, despite a few parts where it felt clunky (the Anti-T'Lan laser has WAAAAYYY too little ammunition, in my opinion) although it shines above basically any other first person shooter made. Ever.

  • This game was amazing-but there were some things they could have done better [like the difficulty was ungodly!]

But it is still like one of the greatest games ever, and I think it should have a sequal!

Anybody know what the song at the end is?

  • "Take it All" by Trust Company

  • This is not only my favourite xbox game, its my favourite game. PERIOD!

  • This was the best game on Xbox in my opinion. Its a damn shame it got crap reviews and half of everyone hated it, cos a sequal would make my year and its never going to happen.

  • I loved this game.

I have yet to see another 1st person game that even comes close to the likness of this.

    They need to make another.

If I still had an x-box , this would be the only game I would have to it.

  • Breakdoen rulez

  • I fucking loved this game. It was so underrated, and kind of buggy, but it more than made up for it in soundtrack, storyline, and gameplay.

  • This game was awesome. Sure, some of the graphics weren't as par as some others, but the story AND gameplay more than make up or it. This is how a FPS should be

  • if there were ever a game to deserve a sequel...it was this, game rocked the FPS genre

  • Dude, this game stands alone. It should be called an FPA. (First Person Awesomeness)

  • This game rocks i keep playing it i beat it last night

  • Namco is unfortunately not making the sequel to this game, but they are making a game baed off this engine.

  • I just beat this game. It was fucking amazing. It beats Halo for multiplayer but the storyline - compared to this game - is simple-minded. This is a masterpiece for a 1-player, first-person shooter.

  • this game is so friggin' awesome, but it is too underrated. us fans should be abble to do something about this. i want their to be a sequel. all those who agree with me can send me a friend's invite.

  • Probably one of the greatest games of all time, and also one of the most underrated. It's really amazing what a great difference it made to do such a simple thing--that is, to keep the player in the first-person perspective during EVERYTHING. Not during cutscenes, load times, even the beginning and ending movie...from start to finish, the player remains in the first-person perspective. It's amazing how much of a difference it made to the story.

  • very underrated game....it's a really good game

  • Beats Halo anyday dude.

  • This is not better than Halo OK

  • ROFL!!! Please, I will let my time be wasted to know why your dumbass opinion thinks Halo is better.

  • Alright chump

  • Wow, great reason, stupid Halo fanboy.

  • You still talking

  • Halo can kiss this game's ass, because this game takes Halo and smashes it to bits.

    it's that good.

  • That was a great game....

  • The story is you wake up without any previous memories. You're attacked by military then saved by that girl, Alex. You discover you have the power to kill t'llan (the white-eyed guys) and you have to escape and then save the world from T'llan overtake by killing their king, the NEXUS, which is in a place called Site Zero. You have hallucinations through the first half of the game, then there's stuff like time slipping and things like that to keep the story confusing as hell.

  • It's okay but don't quite understand it

  • It is one of those games where you just cant. It will send shivers down your spine every five seconds, and it will make your head spin with all of its plot twists. There's almost no music, and you saw him punching the soldier? That was a person playing, not a cutscene. There is no HUD either. One of the most realistic games i've ever seen. And its creepy!!!

  • the finale song is "Take is All". can't remember the band, something like truthCompany or something

  • take IT all

  • the band is "trust company" they dont exist anymore (i dont think) but you can download their song still. It is a freaking awesome song.

  • does any1 know what the song near the end (time 3:33)is kalled

  • called

  • ya i love this game its sooooo awesome and i think they should make a second 1 for the 360

  • Hey I remember how addicted I was to this game haha damn man I wanna see another made they left a real good open ending
