Certainly if a pup is removed at a young age, it can be tamed just as a feral cat can. However, the difficulty increases as they age. You seem to forget dog is mans best friend. How do you think the knowledge of this first came about? At one time all animal were wild and untamed. Man domesticated them. If you feed a dog, he will follow you if you do so with kind hands, he will trust you, and eventually befriend you.
@terriesales sorry: I don't forget. Just - what are you trying to say? And no, just because you feed a dog doesn't mean he'll follow you. There's a" little" bit more to it...
I am on a first name basis with several dogs at Partisanskaya metro station in Moscow. They seem quite happy to lay around the metro entrance and more than one is obese. The ones that run in the park are also quite friendly and it is quite a large pack. You can see them patroling the banks of the lake in Ismailova park. I have never seen them acting aggresively in any way. They are actually quite fussy about what they eat also.
As the videos show, the approach people and some are more interested than others. I would guess many of these dogs could find homes if given the chance and be far happier than sleeping in the cold outside and not knowing for certain if dinner will come. Pavlow experience proves this with dogs.
Grieshaber, I would bet that if they had a warm place to sleep - offered by a human - they would take it. The fact that they ride on the train and don;t bark are growl speaks volumes. Wolfes are a differnet sort than these dogs. Yes, they rely on each animal as they are a pack, but they will not kill humans as a wolfe will. I beg to differ, they can be content - the right one- to live with human companions.
Yes, they live as wild dogs do, but they will approach people and place their head on a knee to beg. Thus, they will except a human companion. As most dogs love a reliable meal, ceetainly these dogs would adapt to a warm home. However, the need for space would be a question. Someone on a farm for example would be able to supply enough stimualtion and room to roam.
yes they are. I played with some puppies. they did't behave different than other dogs.
Don't get me wrong: these are wild dogs living in packs quite similar to wolfes . Still each one is an individual and you don`t know about their expierience with people (...)
So -at least from my humble point of view- if you leave them alone and respect their sphere, they keep an eye on you, but leave you alone. They are quite relaxed, but definetely no pets.
they live as wild dogs do. They find their shelter and are well fed. It seems there is enough food for them - or people are feeding them. -Honest? They seem to have a good dog -life.

@terriesales lol
I didn't say these dogs are killers! -by the way: and wolves are???
Still the social behavior and structure of the packs of wild dogs seems to be comparable to those of wolves. And yes: I like and admire wild wolves.
